    April, I love your realness!!! I am binging your vids so that I can learn as much as I can. I am trying to learn the differences between tinctures, elixirs, etc. I tried something on my own based on inaccurate info and it went bad. I love your commitment and veracity to safety and health. There is so much to learn, but you make it so simple and ACCESSIBLE!!!!! You are amazing and empowering. THANK YOU. --Tess

My questions are.. is one way better then the other? What are the differances in the way ur prepping them? And is there advantages in doing it one way over the others?

The elixer is obviously sweeter, but after the fact would you recommend honey or something that could be added to the tincture to improve the taste? Hawthorn Berries
    1oz ground decarbed cannabis
    1cup of raw Honey
    Equal amounts of Alcohol MCT Oil (enough to cover the berries & cannabis flower)
    Add contents to jar, seal, then place jar in slow cooker on low for at least 6hrs (this can be done overnight if you wish)
    Making sure to take out the jar and shake all it's contents vigorously every 45min.
    Strain the liquid and remove as much flower as you prefer (sometimes I don't mind the lil bits in there).
    Place in UV dropper bottles (Infinity Jars are perfect for this).

    Apparently in canada I can only find 90 proof vodka. . And only in Quebec, which is 4 hours away for me and 100 dollars a bottle. Is it worth making tinctures without hat option?

    • @sheisofthewoods
      @sheisofthewoods  6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I've never heard of 90 Proof vodka I think maybe you mean 80-proof vodka? Because the proof refers to the percentage of alcohol to water ratio, so 90 Proof vodka would be 60% alcohol 40% water. You can use 80-proof vodka just don't go over 100 Proof. Some people get the percentage of alcohol mixed up with the proof if it says 50% alcohol by volume that is 100 Proof vodka if it says 40% alcohol by volume that is 80 proof vodka and a majority of vodka sold in stores is 80 proof so if you end up using 80-proof vodka just let it sit for a few weeks longer💕
