Awesome video!!! Yes the pastrami burger is amazing!!! Had one in September looking forward to another one next September lol. Great stuff love your videos. Tight lines brother.....
Thank you very much Jay. I appreciate the kind words and support. Thank you for noticing the fish handling. Hopefully kids pick up on that as well! Wow! That’s some awesome small world stuff. Yeah, that river is fantastic. One of the best.
Great Video . Ken. Pig after Pig. Your truly blessed with the opportunity to fish some great waters. I'm sure you have worked very hard . To put yourself in this postion. Another important point your having fun and Showing local eats. Which provides local business great chance to total benfit from anglers selecting those areas to fish. Dope music too. Ties everything. Welcome to the new breed of Fly angling. Keep it rollllliiinnggg. Brother..
Awesome video loving it will definitely be watching again! Looks like it was a great time. We don't get salmon fly here in New Zealand but man it's got me hanging out for when the cicadas turn up at the end of the year!
Thanks for the kind words and support Braedan. The Cicadas were popping off when I was in Utah as well. I wasn't crazy but I was able to catch one on the pattern. What I really missed was the Cicada hatch in Tennessee! They were catching MASSIVE carp on Cicadas! 30+ pounders on dries!
yeah can't blame you for being pissed about missing it nothing like a good story (and photos) to get another spot added to the old fishing location bucket list though haha
Amazing video. We have s great salmon fly hatch here in northern Utah. When were you there fishing, curious if the hatch runs the same time as ours. Tight lines bro.
@@Wish4Fish that's the same here. I fished it for the first time last year and it was epic. I work at sportsmans warehouse in the fishing department so I usually hear about hatches pretty quick. I'm pumped to hit it this year.
Ken bro!!! Dude I'm so glad you got out for this hatch!!! it's legendary! love seeing place I recognize and landmarks for my old stomping ground. Great Video!!!
I am fishing the In-Touch. Which could be a part of the reason. Although some of those weren't on the hook set and happened while fighting the fish. One was definitely a rock. One was when I accidentally let go of the line striping it in and when I grabbed a hold of it to stop it the sudden tension snapped the line (on a BIG fish). The others could of been frayed line from banging bank and rocks. There are any number of things that could happen. Even faulty knots. Just big fish on light tippet. Funny thing is that 3x is light tippet on the Henry's Fork. I didn't have any break offs in Iceland although I bumped up to 2x. A LOT of the guides on Henry's use 2x and even 0x for that reason. I would of been using 2x although they were completely sold out of 2x. For good reason....
Nice! Good luck! Definitely stop by Henrys Fork Angler for the latest intel and the flies to get the job done. Tell them I sent ya and they will take good care of ya.
This video is killer man, love it!!! I was able to hit the salmon fly hatch elsewhere, but the fish just weren't coming up for the dries while I was there. Hopefully next year!
Thanks for the kind words Tray. With the Salmon Fly hatch it's all about timing! They gorge themselves with nymphs at the beginning so when the fly emerge they will not be looking up for them for a couple of days. Then you have a couple day window when they are looking up and then they will be full again from dries! Haha... then it's pretty much over.
Yep we were there right in that transition where they were full from the nymphs. Next year hopefully I can get time off and hit the whole thing, start to end!! I only had two days to hit it. Good luck in your future adventures, can't wait for more videos!
Don't Eat All The Salmon Flies! Looks like you had an awesome trip! I almost fell out of my chair when that fish swam out of the net! Where are the Montana and Utah videos?
It was definitely awesome! Love it out there. Only fished in Montana for a couple hours and landed one fish so no MT video. Utah video will come in a couple weeks.
Wish4Fish aha we caught a female landlocked salmon this year (to eat) and I was dared to eat the "caviar" 😂😂 doesn't taste like anything, but it has a fishy aftertaste
Great video and great action. At first I thought it might of been a camera trick to see all those stoneflies in your mouth (was it) but when you popped the nymph and adult in your mouth and appeared to eat them I said to myself "this guy is really into it!" Nice touch. Mind me asking what month you were there? It appears it had to be late May or early June based on the green of the landscape and the quite high water.
Thanks. I only wish I had CGI budget. That was in May during the peak of Salmonfly hatch. Check out "Sight Casting." That was from the same trip. That was from one day when I fished the upper and ran into a March Brown hatch.
CGI = computer graphics imagery. Sorry, I had to erase your last comment because there was too much information on it. I am very open about where I am fishing but do not disclose the exact locations.
Okay, understood. Fisheries like that can't take too much pressure. When I first started fishing the western Catskills there was virtually no one there and I didn't see my first drift boat until 1985. Now even during the week the system can be crowded and there may be over thirty boats on the river.
Exactly. Especially exact locations like that. You were correct on where as well as the conditions. It’s a bit rough in spots. You have a very small window along the bank. As for the other side I have never fished it so I wouldn’t know if it’s any safer.
Nice work! I was there the same time. When you weren't throwing dries... did you notice the insane amount of June suckers spawning? We were on the upper section and they were everywhere
Thanks for the kind words Chris. The only native trout in the Henry's Fork is the Cutthroat. All other species were introduced a long time ago and are all wild natural reproducing trout now. The hatch only lasts a couple weeks. Although you really only have a couple days where you can fully take advantage of the hatch in a particular section. Here is some for information about the trout species in this river by the Henry's Fork Foundation. henrysfork.org/about-wild-trout
Fantastic stream for sure! Be sure to stop by Henrys Fork Angler! Tell them that I sent ya. They will give you the intel you need and the flies to get the job done!
I some how convinced my family to take me on a road trip ( im only 14) and where going to Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, and Washington and our first stop is the wind river in Wyoming ever heard of it if so any tips also any major waypoints I should fish in those states thank you and sorry for the long long paragraph
You should 100% go to the Henry's Fork! Stop by Henry's Fork Angler to get the latest information. Things change by the week and by the day. They will get the right flies in your hands to do the job and give you some good spots. Tell them that I sent you and they will take good care of you.
You should also check out Yellowstone National Park! Not only is it an amazing place but a couple of nice fisheries in there as well. Check out the Firehole. I heard it's fishing well right now. I would also take a day or two just checking out the park! If you're near Ashton, ID I would hit up Frostop! Get the Pastrami Burger! If you like pickles I highly recommend Fried Pickle Spears and definitely the Huckleberry Malt Shake! Talk to Hana and tell her that I sent you for a Wish4Fish discount.
This particular video I was using a Douglas Sky 9' 5wt with a Ross Colorado LT. I did mention this in the beginning of the video. You can also find my equipment list in the description of the video.
Ahhh... I see. Yeah, I split the crotch. I took them back to Orvis and they replaced them with some new ones. Although when I was out there I bought some Simms so now I have a new backup pair.
I have so many waders! haha... Those Silver Sonic Guides weren't even a year old! I went through Simms Freestones in less than 6months! My Orvis Encounters lasted the longest with 2 years. Now I am rocking the G3's as well. Only a matter of time before they give out on me.
Honestly I don't really have that much of a interest. I'm sure it will happen some time or another but considering that I live no where close to them and that I have a lot more streams and goals to check off the list I doubt it will come soon.
Awesome video!!! Yes the pastrami burger is amazing!!! Had one in September looking forward to another one next September lol. Great stuff love your videos. Tight lines brother.....
Thanks Jonathan.
Haha.. yeah, that pastrami burger is freakin awesome! Thanks a lot for your kind words and support!
fun video- and great job keeping the fish wet- all looked healthy during release- my kids, 32 and 29- saw you fishing one day- they love that river
Thank you very much Jay. I appreciate the kind words and support.
Thank you for noticing the fish handling. Hopefully kids pick up on that as well!
Wow! That’s some awesome small world stuff. Yeah, that river is fantastic. One of the best.
Enjoy your videos- interested in a HFF membership
Thank you very much Rich. I appreciate the kind words and support.
I just need some information. Too sensitive for here. You on Facebook or Instagram?
Yes!!! To catch trout, one must... Eat like a trout.
Exactly! 😉
8:43 lol
😂 the best
I'll be there in a week! So stoked! Your 2 HF vids have helped with possible fishing locations. Thanks!
Awesome! You're very welcome. I would hit up Henry's Fork Angler to see what's going on, where to go and what flies are working.
excellent fishing
Thanks Simon!
I enjoyed your video. Consider keeping all of your fishing locations anonymous in the future. Respectfully TM.
Which wine goes well with salmon flies?
Dude you're all about that pastrami burger!!
Well, that's the best burger around the area. Personally think it's much better than Big Juds.
You need to come up north and fish the st. Joe and or the Coeurd’Alene river here in Idaho ! Love the videos !
Thanks a lot for the kind word and suggestion.
Ha!! Great video Ken....Only 2 more years until you think like a fish. You already eat like one!! That's sacrifice baby!!!
Thanks Steve.
You forgot your red Folgers can.
Good one 👏🏼
Great Video . Ken.

Thanks Zachary

What I really missed was the Cicada hatch in Tennessee! They were catching MASSIVE carp on Cicadas! 30+ pounders on dries!
Those carp sound epic would put a healthy bend in the rod for sure!
I know right!? I was pissed that a missed that! A friend of mine showed me pictures and the carp they were catching on dries was INSANE!
yeah can't blame you for being pissed about missing it nothing like a good story (and photos) to get another spot added to the old fishing location bucket list though haha
keep up the vids bro.
Thanks Soflo
Amazing video. We have s great salmon fly hatch here in northern Utah. When were you there fishing, curious if the hatch runs the same time as ours. Tight lines bro.
Thank you for the kind words David. During this year the hatch was around the last week in May. Can be weeks before or after depending on the winter.
@@Wish4Fish that's the same here. I fished it for the first time last year and it was epic. I work at sportsmans warehouse in the fishing department so I usually hear about hatches pretty quick. I'm pumped to hit it this year.
losing that fish out of the net was amazing lol. We have all lost fish before the picture gets taken haha
Haha... no doubt! Moments like that are sometime the best part of the trip.
Where were you fishing on Henry's Fork? I was up by Box canyon, and just caught a few small bows
There are plenty of big Bows on the upper Fork. Although you're going to have to fish below Ashton Reservoir to catch Browns.
Wish4Fish Thanks mate, I'll have to remember that for next time
Nice video brother, I live there in Ashton ID so your playing in my backyard lol I could name every place your in😂
NICE! you're lucky to live right next to such a fantastic stream.
Great video, thanks for sharing! Love your enthusiasm for fly fishing! I need to head there someday. Subbed
Thank you very much for the kind words and support William. I highly suggest going to the Henry's Fork. My favorite stream in the country.
Ken bro!!! Dude I'm so glad you got out for this hatch!!! it's legendary! love seeing place I recognize and landmarks for my old stomping ground. Great Video!!!
Thanks Josh!
Great new video man!! Lots of quality fish and enjoyed the comparison between the nymph and dry.
Thanks a lot for the kind words and for watching.
You fishing Rio Perception fly line? Could be the reason for your bust-offs, it features a low-stretch core
I am fishing the In-Touch. Which could be a part of the reason. Although some of those weren't on the hook set and happened while fighting the fish. One was definitely a rock. Nice! Good luck! Definitely stop by Henrys Fork Angler for the latest intel and the flies to get the job done. Tell them I sent ya and they will take good care of ya.
Sweet video that burger looked a lot better then the salmon flies you ate .
Well... the burger was definitely more delicious. Honestly the Salmon Flies are actually not that bad at all.... considering.
Wish4Fish I can second this, they honestly taste decent.
This video is killer man, love it!!! I was able to hit the salmon fly hatch elsewhere, but the fish just weren't coming up for the dries while I was there. Hopefully next year!

How the hell did you keep a straight face eating those salmonflies?Props to you!
They aren't that bad actually. Haha
Wish4Fish aha we caught a female landlocked salmon this year (to eat) and I was dared to eat the "caviar" 😂😂 doesn't taste like anything, but it has a fishy aftertaste
Now that's a delicacy!
Ken! Your vid made me homesick....and sick! Keep it up brother!
Haha... Thanks Craig! You need to get back home for this hatch!
I loved this one! Way to get in the minds of them fish and figure out which fly was better. 😳
Thanks Brotha
What a great video. The bug and burger munching but, especially that fish sneaking out of the net. I laughed so hard. New sub.
Thank you very much for the kind words and support!
dude this was tough to watch while eating breakfast😂😂
Cameron Mallin hmm nutty!
2 thumbs up! One of your top videos to date. Keep them coming.
Thanks a lot Frank!
What camera do you use for your fish shots/pics?
Just a follow up from our conversation on IG. Most of the gear used in my videos is listed in the description for future reference.
Wish4Fish thanks man
Breaking off on 3x??????? That's on you !
Happens all the time on the HF.
Great video and great action. Thanks a lot Benton. I didn't nymph when I was there. Except when I was sight nymphing Bows feeding on emergers.
Haha I saw you in a diner in Ashton after you made this video last month! Keep up the good content 🐟
Haha... really? At Big Juds I'm guessing?
Thanks for the kind words!
So jealous!!

Fantastic stream for sure! Be sure to stop by Henrys Fork Angler! Tell them that I sent ya. They will give you the intel you need and the flies to get the job done!
ken- Is the salmon fly fished like a dry??
It's mostly famous for the dry fly. Although you can fish the nymph as well. All these were caught on the dry.
Wish4Fish so those salmon fly are just Giant dry flys ?wow ! What lb tippit were you using ?
Yes. I was using 3x and 2x
"Look at this fatty male. So fat! Yes!"
Your fish commentary cracks me up every time. Great video brother!
Haha... Thanks brotha.

what rod & reel/ line were you using? thanks again... love your vids bro!!!
This particular video I was using a Douglas Sky 9' 5wt with a Ross Colorado LT. I did mention this in the beginning of the video. You can also find my equipment list in the description of the video.
Really Amazing Videos , My Ma has a Yoga studio in Winston Salem ! Small World
Thank you very much.
Oh nice!
Nice waders. What brand?
I'm confused by your question. 2 questions.... are you being facetious? and... Did you watch till the end?
I just saw you get out of wet waders. That's all.
Ahhh... I see. Yeah, I split the crotch. I took them back to Orvis and they replaced them with some new ones. Although when I was out there I bought some Simms so now I have a new backup pair.
I bought some Simm's G3's 3 years ago. They have been good so far.
I have so many waders! haha... Those Silver Sonic Guides weren't even a year old! I went through Simms Freestones in less than 6months!
My Orvis Encounters lasted the longest with 2 years. Now I am rocking the G3's as well. Only a matter of time before they give out on me.
Was that part of your method acting? To catch trout you have to be a trout? Awesome...
Haha, something like that. Thanks Sung.
How hard was that shot with the flies in your mouth to get lol
Not hard at all.... considering I ate 2 of them, letting them crawl around in my mouth is nothing.
Wish4Fish can you fish for apache trout?
Wish4Fish I suppose that's fair enough!
Honestly I don't really have that much of a interest. I'm sure it will happen some time or another but considering that I live no where close to them and that I have a lot more streams and goals to check off the list I doubt it will come soon.
hahaha! You won manly points in my book for that one.
Thanks Alfredo
That was awesome.
Thanks Abe.
that's amazeballs..minus the bug eating.. I prefer when the fish eat the bugs not the humans! Lol what is the camera setup on your hat?!?
Thanks Crystal. I use the Sony FDR x3000v.
amzn.to/2smw476
😂 fish just swims right out of the net.
Haha... I know right!? I was cracking up when I saw the footage afterwards.
Was going to share this with my friend until I saw the gross eating of flies and irreverent attitude toward the sport.
HAHA! 🤦🏻♂️
It’s fly fishing! Get over yourself
Eating those salmon flies was poor form!! Won’t watch another one of your videos!!!
Haha!
