I totally agree with your comments on Kimba's campground. I have stayed there myself and found it to be better than many caravan parks. Extremely tidy and great facilities. Great meals at the nearby pub as well.
Also a fan of the Shelley beach caravan park. If you get the chance book one of the beach view sites. They only have the 2 but it makes for an awesome stay when at Ceduna. Great views all day long and as easy walk down to the beach.
Interesting getting the rig over the scales. I am curious to know the breakdown of Van and Tug weights when hooked up for travel. Keep the videos coming Mick.

The beach view sites were all booked while we were there so we missed out on all the sea views🥲
The caravan to our surprise when just over 100kg over weight so we will look at seeing if we can have the van upgraded. Andrew who weighed us has given us the appropriate info on where to start with that👍

Just wondering what the Weight problem was. Car or caravan. Considering you changed from the Colorado to the landcruiser to fix the problem.

    • @justcruisinwithmicksally837
      @justcruisinwithmicksally837  8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

The weight issue that we had was all to do with the caravan. Off loaded a little bit of stuff before we left home to get things back where they should be. We will be looking at having our caravan weights re-plated if it meets all the requirements as running so close to maximum permitted weight is no fun.

Hi Mick and Sally, Hubby and I thoroughly enjoy your videos. He is a long-time subscriber and while he's packing for our first long trip, he has asked me to find out what cameras, microphones, tripods, filters and drone you use. He would greatly appreciate your suggestions. Thank you for your help and the great videos!

Most of our recording is done with GoPro's plus we use our iPhones at times if the GoPro's are not near us. We have a media mic on one of our GoPro's which is great for voice recording. Our drone is an Air 2S dji drone. Hope this gets him the info that he is after, have a great trip when you leave.

Hi Mick and Sally, fyi if you're going through Wudinna again about 15km to the north is mount Wudinna awesome spot and you can climb the rock witch rivals Uluru. No camping last time I was there.
Also just 15 km north of Minnipa is Pildappa rock . There is Donation camping and a wave rock there that can be climbed, drop toilet.

We have camped a few times at Pildappa Rock previously and nearly went there on this trip but decided to give it a miss due to the recent redevelopment of the campground. We will be on the Peninsula for a few weeks but there is just too much to see in any given amount of time.

Mick, how'd you be visiting my very old stomping ground. Thevenard goes way back to my youth and mingling with Greek Fishermen, and farmers on the outskirts of a vast dry battling area. So far back that i do believe I fired the last T Class locomotive out of Thevenard for the SA Railways on narrow gauge.
Gosh! The memories of my spare time diving for Scallops, Razor Fish which i used to pickle and sell to attendees of the local watering hole. Wow, my ole memories are whizzing thru my old grey matter. A bloke should write all them before age runs away too quick and lost.
Also have super great memories of the old narrow gauge tracks right up thru to Buckleboo . and carting water during a major drought. Stop it...ha ha , my head is spinning.
Do take your time, spread your travels to inner Eyre Peninsula, and get some info about Legendary South Australian bus driver Sylvia Birdseye introduced a vital overland mail and passenger service between Eyre Peninsula and Adelaide in 1928 and drove about four million miles during 43 years behind the wheel. Tough times, but heaps of survivors. Cheers.👍

    Hi Mick and Sally
Is Sheringa Roadhouse still as charming a little stop as it was in 2013 when this UKer was campervanning in Oz.
I remember being in Ceduna on a Saturday afternoon when the police were rounding up the Aboriginals and taking them home. It was a fantastic drive, Cairns, Brisbane, the SHB and coastal west to Cape Leewin and north to Darwin. Twelve weeks I'll never forget.
    Thanks for the video.
