    I really like you explain it all in such a calm and friendly way that it didn't confuse me at all. It was like a walk in the park for me in my first time!

    I purchased a NUC mini kit and could not create a bootable drive. No, I'm not tech savvy, but I'm stubborn. I tried many methods for days. Yet I stumbled onto this video and it was easy and worked like a charm and because I had updated windows 7 to windows 10 it updated auto. Thanks a million.

      even if you are the admin of your system, you need to run CMD as administrator. Windows 7 sometimes makes no sense, but that's the way it is. Take it or leave it. LOL! Like a boss! :D

    Awesome vid man. Well made, easy to follow, an worked perfect every time. I had been pulling my hair out the past 2 days. I was building a computer out of used parts and formatted the hdd. Which , I think erased the Boot Manager. After building, it gave me a "Bootmgr is missing" "press control alt delete and restart". Numerous TH-cam vids say to use the Windows disk and select repair repair. My system would not boot from the cd-rom for nothing. And yes, I did adjust the boot order in bios. The cd-rom was good. After trying everything I could find and try....I made a Bootable USB windows from your video and selected to boot from the USB in bios, and presto, fixed the bootmgr and installed windows. Thanks.

      cd boot is actualy command to "change directory" to boot folder on your dvd drive. if u get that error it means there is no such folder on your windows dvd. check your dvd drive or try to load different windows boot dvd. U might have damaged dvd and system cant find path to target.

    Where is everyone getting a full Windows 7 (in my case, Pro version) CD/DVD or even an ISO file ? Computer OEM's haven't provided a Windows OS CD in years. I bought my Dell & instead of Windows 8, I insisted on Windows 7 OS, but even then they included a Windows 8 Reinstallation CD only! Btw, the best tutorial I've seen yet. Thanks!

      No Prob; If you dont have DVD Rom in your system... You Can
      How! follow the step below...
      => Go to Google.com and download software (Virtual_CD_10.1.0.12.) if you find any version does't matter, download and install.
      => it will make extra Virtual CD/DVD Drive in your system... Check my computer.
      => write click on BD Rom Drive and select Virtual CD and select your ISO File of Windows 7 (if you dont have download Windows 7 ISO file)
      => once it fully inserted to your drive... that will seems like your DVD.
      Now you have DVD ROM in your System.
      => Enjoy

      Probably very late. But if you have windows in ISO format, simply use program like PowerISO, create a virtual drive and mount the Windows iso image on that drive. That way you will have "virtual cd drive". It sounds complicated but it's quite easy. Look up some tutorials on how to do it online if you don't understand

      Make sure you are running the command prompt as an administrator.

  • @dulezdravkovicci5891
    @dulezdravkovicci5891 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Quick format is faster because of nothing else but the fact that the command doesn't actually format the drive, it just erases everything on it. Use the command without the "quick" parameter anyway. Also, if you encounter any problems, as i did, if the drive isn't active in the end or if it, for some reason, won't boot, format the drive using windows (right click>format, with the "quick format" option unchecked), prior to formatting it in cmd. All in all - nice tut, i've learnt something.

    Man, this is the BEST. I was reading other postings after I googled it. I thought I was doing everything correct, well, I was forgetting to put the d: cd boot as stated, I kept typing cd d:\boot, if would not work, then I came upon your post, then as a LIGHT turned on, as I listened and watched, I found my mistake. Wasn't paying attention when I typed that specific command, after I did everything worked great. Yes, it was my fault, Attention to Detail, but THANKS for the post.

      If your server platform supports *Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI)*, you should format the USB flash drive as *FAT32 rather than as NTFS*. To format the partition as FAT32, type format fs=fat32 quick, and then click ENTER.

      As adnan says, you have to right-click on the cmd little icon and select "run as administrator". The first time you type "exit" is when you are in DISKPART> , so, your window should not close, cause you're LEAVING that directory DISKPART and going back to C:/Windows/systemXX>

    Also remember that certain Flash Drives use File System "NTFS" and others use File System "FAT32". So when you run command prompt > "format fs=ntfs" it will encounter a formatting error. In such a case it means that the flash drives File System is "FAT32" by default. So the command prompt you will run should be > "format fs=fat32"

The only thing I would like to add is that to get to the command prompt as administrator for windows 8.1, you just right click on the windows start icon at the bottom left, and select command prompt (admin) first. Otherwise, this worked perfectly for me. Thanks very much for the help!

    2- i have to install window 7 in my hp 110-3500 netbook, how can i install that as i dont have any external optical drive? except for making USB bootable, as i already learnt that from ur tutorial.
    3-any way i can download a valid, window 7 with an active key product?

    Do we need a bootable image file or we will just have to mount the image downloaded from the internet and go on with the process?

    Great, perfectly clear, well done instructions. BUT - I got way into this, formatted the 8G flash drive, then realized that I don't have a Win 7 installation disk. MY machine came with Win 7 preinstalled and a Win 10 upgrade disk. I do not want to go to 10 now, but I'd like a Win 7 bootable flash drive. What can I do?
    I bought this machine directly from Dell, XPS 8900.

    ok Question. Do you have to click and drag over at the end "Files ready to be written to the disc" it has the desktop under it that you dragged over also at the 7:20 mark....I did not drag over that on mine will it work.

    So how large of a Thumb drive do you need ? I guess you are not installing the entire Operating system on the thumb drive ? I was going to use a Patriot Rage 2, 256Gb thumb drive but that is overkill , Thought I needed to install the entire operating system on it

    Hey, all the steps up until the "cd boot" commands worked flawlessly. I was wondering if it was because I have a digitally mounted copy of the installation disc. As in, I don't have the physical disk, but I am using Daemon Tools to mount it digitally. So, I was just wondering what I might to fix this. Other than this, great tutorial with easy and clear directions!

    You forgot to mention that a person attempting this needs to be using the same "OS" as the boot disk or CMD prompt will through a error stating it cant be done. Like trying to make a 64bit bootable USB on a 32bit system. It wont work, the OS you are using and the boot disk have to match. Other then that you did a fine job on you presentation.
