Hii thank you for this reaction I loved it! I just wanted to pop in here and give a little rant about Park Sunghoon and why he’s one of my ults :)) I’m a competitive figure skater of 10 years myself, so I can give a little context on his background and why I admire him so much. First of all- Sunghoon is REALLY GOOD at skating! He represented Korea at the ISU Challenger Series (an international competition) and placed 2nd a couple years back. He can do all his triple AND a triple axel consistently as well!! The triple axel is 3.5 rotations in the air and even Olympians struggle with that jump. I believe that with more training, he really could’ve made the Olympics! Second: skating is a TOUGH sport. As someone who trained competitively for 10 years, I know how much time, money, and effort goes into it. I trained before and after school 6 days a week and I only just got 2 of my triples. Seeing Sunghoon’s level, he likely was homeschooled and spent most of his time at the rink (as most professional skaters do). We skate so much that skating, jumping, and spinning can feel even more natural than walking. It’s SUCH a huge part of our lives and nothing feels better than skating with the wind in our faces and landing a jump that you know you just nailed. The fact that Sunghoon gave up skating for being an idol really shows how passionate he is for it. He has the courage to give up something he spent his whole life on, something he could have had real success in, and take a leap of faith in an entirely different direction to pursue his dreams. As a skater, I really admire that passion and courage and he has a special place in my bias list :) Of course this would probably be true with any athlete-turned-idol, but I connect with Sunghoon the most since I am a skater myself haha Sorry for the long comment but I really hope people can appreciate his love for kpop a little more :):)
I dunno about homeschooling, it's quite rare in Korea. Even active idols tend to go to regular schools, and are just excused from skipping class for work.
Yes! I'm a figure skating fan and i've known about him since he was in juniors. His choice to leave skating really stuck with me, it's so admirable. The strength and pure belief in oneself that must've taken, i can't even begin to imagine.
Jay is such a pure soul I love him lol he is always cooking for the other members recently they played a game seeing who would have to cook breakfast for everyone and Jay won but he still went and helped the losers cook breakfast. Since he’s pretty good at Japanese he’s been helping Ni-Ki with his Korean and translating for him. He’s the best boy!
I just wanna say that Jungwon did such a great job being a leader!! On Enhypen&Hi S2, he said that he cried a lot a week or 2 weeks after being chosen as the leader, he came to Heeseung crying because he's under a lot of pressure and too much stress, despite being one of the youngest leader in kpop industry, dealing with school and his idol life, he really did a great job by being the leader, it's hits harder when he said he's cried a lot bcz of stress and pressure, it's hurting him so much but he's such a strong boy and an independent and caring leader, i just wanna hug him and said "don't worry, you did a great job, thank you" :(
I'm not even an ENGENE (yet) but Sunghoon lives in my mind rent free already. I didn't watch I-Land when it aired but I was still curious about their debut and Given-Taken ended up being my favorite debut of 2020. The new promotional materials look fantastic already, can't wait for the comeback.
I thought Heeseung and Jake looked alike as well until I watched i-land (I binged it all after it finished but before debut because I wanted to have an idea of names and personalities before their debut showcase), but I figured them out fairly quickly because Heeseung has the most perfect teeth it's impossible to confuse him with someone else when he's smiling. It honestly looked like they were photoshopped they were so straight and white. I refuse to pick a bias because I want to adopt them all, and I could never pick a favourite child. They all impress me so much. Ni-Ki only started to learn Korean when he moved to train, and he's soaked it up like a sponge, and learns choreo stupid fast. Jay just started learning Japanese I think around when they debuted as a hobby but he's killing it, and his goal through the competition was to be a cool person, which I mean, mission accomplished. Jake has shown an incredible amount of growth in such a short time, professionally and even when watching their other content you can see he is more comfortable in himself too. Sunoo seems like a very sweet and kind person but he has nailed every concept given to him, including darker ones, and it's very impressive. He's also brilliant in interviews, super charismatic. Heeseung I swear was born ready for debut, definite all rounder idol. Sunghoon is shy, but you can see his confidence growing too, and he has a calmness to him I really like (probably from being a professional athlete for so long). Jungwon is a tiny baby, but he's doing so well, youngest leader in Kpop. He has a very unique tone to his voice I love too. I shall finish my essay by recommending you bump i-land up your list to watch, and also add Enhypen&Hi to it. There's not many episodes but it's a lovely little glimpse of them between winning the show and debut (s1) and between debut and now pre comeback (s2 which ended last week), and it's available on TH-cam which is nice.
Heeseung up until now is the tallest and leanest member of the group. He has a small face . Also, personally, I feel, without makeup ,attire and stuff, Heeseung, Jungwon and Sunoo are most baby faced in the group.

So I love the Ayland channel but my one qualm is that this video shows everyone's strengths but doesn't show Jay singing or rapping, and honestly he's really good at both. Also, admittedly, I bias him because his stubborn and helpful personality caught me in I-Land.

it’s SO DIFFICULT to have a bias in this group. like i fell in absolute love with sunoo during i-land so he’s pretty much been my bias since then, but i currently have three “official wreckers”. during iland it was just sunghoon, then i had to add heeseung, and since their debut/reality show jay has grown on me sooo much i had to add him as well shdjdksjs. but seriously the entire group is so amazing, talented precious babies, i ult the entire group as a whole,, i hope you continue to learn about them & look forward to their comeback!! :D
However, before watching I-Land, I actually recommend just watching them on ENHYPEN&HI.... its more recent and shows their dynamic with one another ♡ The show I-Land has someone who was kind of a bully (who thankfully didn't get in) so it dampens the joy one can get in watching it... mental health is so important to me and seeing these boys get bullied by someone was hard.

Sunghoon went to a school that accommodated for his schedule, so he didn’t go to school at “normal” hours but he wasn’t home schooled either
Just one correction that he wasn't homeschooled. There's a documentary on Sunghoon as figure skater and it shows he went to a regular school.
