It’s crazy that we’ve been interacting on the internet for yearsss & now you’re going on sub! I know it’s a really scary time, and I’m not sure if it’s helpful at all, but hearing you speak so openly has helped me a lot with my own anxiety & fears when it comes to publishing. It’s so hard to see ourselves when there’s so much fear, but from an outside perspective watching this video, I’d say the editors receiving this manuscript are so lucky! you did !! and you were the first person to ever guess !!! i think everyone has a different idea of what a "strict" or faithful retelling is so i'm not sure. but it's a cyberpunk book at the end of the day, so there's definitely new plotlines and significant deviations from the original. it's also like over double the length of gatsby lmao... thank you for the support!

I've only recently stumbled on your chanel but I have already binged all of your writing volgs about this particular work (I think) and I can truly say I cannot wait to one day get a copy of Local Heavens! Your passion and excitement (as well as very real anxiety) about your work only shows how much you love the story, the world and the characters. One day when (not and if, when) its shared with the masses so many more people will have the opportunity to love your work the way you do. I can't imagine the stress with agents and submission and it sounds like such a chaotic time, but I hope you take time for yourself during such a big anxious time and focusing on the positives of both this project and all your future ones! I remember your video talking about the original Gatsby writing. So when I saw your newsletter, it made so much sense to me. I was like duh! And then the romance being the way it is when you describe it, makes so much more sense knowing the romance options in Gatsby. I hope Local Heavens gets picked up because I love a Gatsby twist and it sounds like a lot of fun.

Premise reveal. Let's go!!! (Also, huge congrats.) It's such an interesting idea. At first I was like "Huh, very curious.🤔" Then I was like "Actually, this makes so much sense. Like, the story would be perfect for this type of setting." I was already so excited for the idea, and now I'm even more eager to read it when it comes out. Now, the real question is, do I have a mini-prerelease party for myself in which I read through the original and watch the movie(s) in preparation? And the answer is definitely yes.
I have missed seeing retellings of classics with their own twist! I feel like they haven't been done as often but they always work so well. Excited to see the differences between your creative spin vs finding parallels with the great Gatsby which is such a classic! Are you going to keep in some of the symbolism in there are well or are you going to adjust some things? Mainly referencing the green light which tbh no matter how much people explain it to me I don't get it 😬
