Obviously we do care about the channel, but more importantly, we care about you as a person. I only found you a couple of months ago and it’s clear to see that you are a genuine, good person. I have also learnt so much from you already. Your eviction notice must have been harder than I could ever imagine. And yet you have still found the time to keep us involved. You are an inspiration and hope that everything works out for the best.
My daughter (Ontario) got an eviction notice 2 weeks ago and is moving May 1st. No doubt the landlord will bring in another tenant though to increase the rent, though his excuse was he wants to use the space. Her new place is nice, newer, smaller and more costly. This is happening everywhere.
Ivans a good decent man , Ginny and Ivan won’t be beat though they will turn it into a positive and carry on showing us how it’s done. Well done Ivan you’re an inspiration to mankind
All your viewers are very close to you Ivan. Love your videos and we all want you to do ok. We all wish you well and a brilliant new start, and look forward to new videos. Xx
You could take the bottoms out of some of your wooden boxes and double the height for more compost. Better than leaving them behind after all your work.
Ivan, in addition to all the useful gardening information you’ve provided us viewers, your resilience in the face of setbacks, whether nature-related incidents or your current challenge, has been a valuable example as well. I have a feeling this move will be a rewarding adventure in the long run. Sometimes Plan B is the better plan after all.
Hi Ivan my daughter and granddaughter has just moved in permanently to a caravan she loves it. Shes looking to some sort of gardening especially growing vegetable with her daughter. I have learned a lot from you and will share your channel with her as container gardening is just what she is looking for. Good luck with the move onwards and upwards x
We all know how hard you work at producing your videos Ivan and giving us all new and informative tips and ideas for our gardening escapades even during this period when things are hectic for you what with your home move so thank you for that. I'm having a go at keeping the garden going while my other half (Jon the Journeyman😂😂) is busy doing some bathroom renovations, so I'm looking through some of your past videos for some inspiration. My tomatoes are a bit leggy , think they need more sunshine...don't we all?!☀️🌞😊
I have started container gardening just a few weeks ago, and watch a number of allotment channels to pick up tips, being a total newbie at bothe veg and flower growing. While gutted for the reason why you have to go fully “containerised”, I was selfishly absolutely thrilled. I am looking forward to more of your videos.
Talking about British weather. We had two tornadoes today. Little known fact, UK holds the record for most tornadoes in one day, 104 of them. The nearest is USA with 100. UK has more tornadoes than USA, they’re just not as destructive. Happy gardening lol😅
Have really enjoyed your videos after a lifetime of gardening…at 82.. I use some of your ideas and wish you both all the best with your new move… Am sure it will be a case of ‘Small is Beautiful’. and look forward to more from you.. and thank you.
My garden is a mixture of a couple of large thigh high raised beds, polytunnel, and lots and lots of pots. I grow 20 trees in large pots, created an arch tunnel up some steps using huge pots and every year I ring the changes and grow either peas, beans or tomatoes up the arches. I have used those metal spirals for years in the polytunnel for tomatoes and they work well. The back of the house is surrounded by 30L pots, my new potatoes are grown first and then the 2nd planting are my leeks. I have 6 (yes I know) rhubarb plants, grow all my chillies and peppers in pots. Then there are the blueberries, gooseberries, strawberries, raspberries, cape gooseberries, currants, carrots, cucumbers, aubergines, parsnips, sweetcorn, garlic, herbs and perennial kales all grown in pots. You can do it!
Thanks Ivan. I’ve never thought of using those tall curved stakes for tomatoes. Always the need to plan ahead for gardening. Even more soon with your impending home move on top! Good luck for your move.
This was the saddest news when I watched your last video earlier. I echo everyone’s comments above that you seem like the loveliest, most genuine person, and this TH-cam channel is my “go to” for veg growing. Can’t we set up a Go Fund Me to save Ivan’s Gardening Allotment UK HQ and keep it in your hands?
What about getting yourself down on an allotment list Ivan where you're moving too .😊 Maybe there's a community garden somewhere you'd be great at teaching new gardeners. ❤
Thanks again Ivan for taking the time out of your day to produce another excellent video. It must be so difficult trying to remain positive over the last couple of months with so much going on in your life. I personally am really looking forward to more videos in your new location. Hope all goes well with the move and you don't have to leave too much behind. Whoever buys that house from your landlord is going to be very lucky as it's an amazing space.
Hey mate, I reckon you're going to need a windbreak around the caravan it'll be flippin windy. Maybe a fence or row of ornamental trees would work. Cheers for the vids Ivan
Thanks for all the updates Ivan, as you know I've followed you from the beginning and will continue to follow you in the container garden. I had only grown potatoes, until I found you on youtube, now grow lots more veg thanks to you. Once again I wish you and Ginny, all the very best for future. Thanks for sharing.
Some great ideas for you container garden Ivan. We all love your videos and wish you all the very best with your exciting new venture, and I look forward to all your future videos.
The eviction news was very sad news to hear and it’s anyone who rents a home’s worst nightmare. You are already at the top of the container gardening TH-cam agenda for knowledge and ideas so this won’t change for you. Thanks for updating us all about the changes afoot it must be hard to talk about well done and will look forward to your future vlogs. Ps what happening about your job?
Hope you’re move is good for you and your wife your a nice guy Ivan I wish you all the happiness in your new home I’m sick of the weather here in n Ireland I’m only going to use one polytunnel this year🤝
Thanks Ivan, you've prompted me to sow some Little Gems and this is what you do, keeping us up to date, interested and educated. Keep up the great work mate. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Good luck in your new life, I’m sure you will find it satisfying and I’ve no doubt that you will find a way to continue growing. Wonderful healthy food. I look forward to seeing how you progress and will be here to follow and support you. I find your videos so informative and inspiring. 👍
Exciting times Ivan , stay positive it’s going to be great. We very often reach a cross roads in our lives, and you certainly have a handle on things. Of my 6 children 3 have become avid gardeners, and you are certainly an inspiration .Our weather here on central Vancouver Island is almost the same as our native Manchester uk. I’ve just built a poly greenhouse 10x6 from free scrap dunnage wood ,so very busy myself. Can’t wait to see your new place ,what part of the country are you moving to? All the.best anyway.
Good luck on your new venture in the caravan you will need the containers at first until you find your feet ,I've lived in a caravan it's surprising what you can plant in every nook and cranny that one finds,How about lettuce trees lve had a good success I don't know what else you could use plastic bottles for.Anyhow you will soon get sorted and start growing in your plot of land again good luck it's a shame you had to move you have worked so hard on your garden I look forward to your future vlogs.Bye
I'm in Ireland. I was very tempted to put my young plants outdoors yesterday. I'm so glad that I didn't, we just had a heavy hail storm! The weather is so unpredictable at this time of year.
Hi Ivan, I had the whole tray (I use small plastic fruit boxes from the supermarket when we have eaten it), got some little gems to pick out soon,I have always found it easier with the soil wet, do you do it dry for a reason? Best wishes for the move ❤️🙏
Same here today Ivan windy & on & off rain. Will you be taking any of the green houses with you, I was curious how you will get along if you don't have one sowing seeds etc. I use my back bedroom & now it's getting warmer I do most of my sowing in the conservatory, it's great for getting things started, looks messy but I don't care 😂 I like the idea of those steaks from Aldi, I'm doing a couple of cucumber plants this year they'll be great for those, trouble is I bought the wrong ones the ones I got you have to grow in doors, so it looks like they'll be in the conservatory, could I grow them in like a tomato plastic green house Ivan. Anyway looking forward to your new adventure & of course your future container gardening. My hubby is outside as we speak attaching a frame to my raised beds so I can have lift up hooped netting, last year we kept having to lift it on & off no chance this year lol, I'm getting to old for that.
Sorry about you having to move. I’m sure you’ll find an allotment too. Also re pepper / aubergine plants. I thought the coldest they needed to be in the greenhouse was 10 degree so I’ve been bringing them in but now see you mention 6-8 degrees in a couple of days. What is the coldest you would leave peppers, tomatoes and aubergine in a greenhouse overnight. You say 6-8 what would be your minimum temperature ?
Just nipped the allotment to check my beetroots that I put outside now they say it's a cold growing crop when i looked at them the beets was flat to floor is this normal or has the wind killed them
Another blow that happened a while ago a fox got in the pen and killed all my chickens and a rat got in the budgie cage and killed all of those too Very sad day Thank you Rachel

This is the best comment, Steve. You’ve perfectly communicated what I couldn’t!
Thank you Melissa
Thank you Steve it has not been easy coming to terms with what has happened but this channel and its followers are very important to me
Thank you

38 beet roots planted yesterday not considering thr weather for the week I am gutted i feel there not gonna last all that effort as a begginer
They are very cold hardy but if they are young plants and we get a frost just cover with fleece or bubble wrap
Thank you
Will you be able to have a half greenhouse at all round the caravan?
No im afraid not but will find something Thank you Susan
😂😂😂Here's hoping🤗👍xx
Thank you and take care Julie
Sorry about you having to move. I’m sure you’ll find an allotment too.
Also re pepper / aubergine plants. I thought the coldest they needed to be in the greenhouse was 10 degree so I’ve been bringing them in but now see you mention 6-8 degrees in a couple of days.
What is the coldest you would leave peppers, tomatoes and aubergine in a greenhouse overnight. You say 6-8 what would be your minimum temperature ?
6 would be my lowest without some fleece over them
Thank you
@@ivans-gardening-allotment-uk thanks
Are you taking your lovely greenhouse to your new home?
Afraid i am not allowed so got to sell them
Thank you Katie
Hello Ivan. I love your video's. I'm looking forward to watching your new content...are there any allotments near your new place? All the best!
Thanks Chris going to look into that soon
Yikes! You have to move? I hope you find a good place.
Thank you
Just nipped the allotment to check my beetroots that I put outside now they say it's a cold growing crop when i looked at them the beets was flat to floor is this normal or has the wind killed them
They are very cold hardy and will get back up or start new growth so all is good
Thank you

@@ivans-gardening-allotment-uk oh gosh that's devastating, as if you don't have enough going on, so sorry to hear
