Very frantic yard action and Brian certainly has his hands full dealing with all those freights coming in. The 70ft centerbeam flatcar with the oval shaped holes is often referred to "Opera Window" style centerbeam. Nothing wrong with bending the rules a bit especially if you like certain types of rolling stock even if they're out of date. Good video Burr 👍🏻
Thanks Mike. I appreciate your comments. We certainly do bend the rules a bit around here. I think of it as a "gravitational force" towards 1973, but not always succeeding.
Your having to much fun with the guys. And so am I trying to get the Dcc wiring done in my yard . From the MRL/ man Neil schwerdt in west valley city Utah 😊
Great video as always. Im also modeling the BN rainbow era. Burlington Northern had the best locomotive consits. How far do you run the Milwaukee Road trains on your layout?
We run MILW trackage rights trains from Black River Jct (south Seattle) north to Bellingham staging, with interchanges with BN at Argo yard and Everett. We also have a MILW switcher work the MILW car barge in Seattle, the MILW freight house, and an interchange move to BN from Argo to Stacy. It's turned into a full time job for at least one operator!
Thaks Burr again, loved your track plan, It would be fun to do an OPS on it but to far away from Montreal. and there is no place around my place where i cant go on an ops. keep then rollling
Hi Burr, great video as always. I am about to lay out my marshaling yard and may I ask what is the distance between centreline of your yard tracks please? Were you to relay your yard, would you increase the distance at all or are you happy with the distance between tracks as us? Thanks. Robin
Have a great time in B.C. Burr.! Sad I couldn't make it this year after all. Building 8' of hwy overpasses this week instead will have to suffice. ;-) Cheers, Jim
For arrival departure tracks in a yard, I use 2 1/2" spacing. Wider than that on curves, depending on the radius. For passing sidings that are straight, 2" is ok, and in the yard classification tracks I sometimes use 1 7/8", but I wouldn't go any lower than that our you might have issues with wider cars.

You're welcome Burr. Also was glad to see the track plan of the layout. @@muchfunwithtrains

I agree, but we're going to keep doing it, and filming it, until further notice! :)
As usual, great reality railroading! 😄
So glad you enjoyed it!

Surely there are ops in Montreal. I'm going to the PNR convention in Vancouver this weekend and will ask around for you.
Nice video on one busy railroad. I life the fact that you do not edit out the mistakes. Some people might not even notice.
Thanks for the comment. I'm amazed at how often the mistakes are mine, and I should know better! It's a constant learning process...

Send all those Southern Pacific units north, they'll stay clean!
Good point! :)
