Excellent as always, Burr! I only wish we lived closer so I could come see this! I bet there were a ton of smiling faces in the room during the making of this video... And yes, I have and am considering a narrow gauge component on my layout. It has even been suggested that I put in dual gauge on a portion of the Deadwood branch. It is fun to think about. Time will tell if anything gets done about that! Your advice on that subject has been noted!!!
Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for your comment. Good luck resisting the narrow gauge bug. Many of my friends have resisted it, so I try to treat it as a chronic infection.
Good stuff always, Burr. You are right about the narrow gauge - it is unexpectedly fun to mees with the 3' stuff. I'll get back to standard gauge doings in 2025. By the way, Robin would mention that the British steamer is a model of a steam turbine, hence the noticeable lack of any 'chuff' sound. See you in 25'!
@@muchfunwithtrains Well, some British steam locomotives had the cylinders between the frames, to keep the width of the locomotive down for working in tight spaces (e.g., the Fowler 4F).
The British diesel at 4:15 is a class 52 "Western" diesely hydraulic. They were used on express passenger trains between London and southwest England and south Wales.
If the smart people planning the North America to UK trans-atlantic tunnel ever build that, you would be modeling reality! I was a little disappointed that there weren't any bangs in this video, but it was great anyway! 😆
Unbelievably superb, thanks for sharing! 👍
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks Burr for including Bob's Challenger in the video and say hi for me to Bob. I'll be back in WA in May from our AZ snowbird adventure again.

Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention the most interesting part, about how it was a steam turbine! You can tell, since there aren't any pistons...
Indeed, it is the LMS "Turbomotive".
