    I was set on dojo loach but now cant keep em bc they r scaleless. Had pepper corries before so not looking for them. Shrimps have my interest(the blue, red types) but i think my gouramis might eat them :(
    I kinda dont want corries again but bottom is going to be barren once my ADF is gone (have to get rid of him)

      Oscars are very hard to have tank mates unless you put the same size fish with it or get fish that can
      hold it's own with them cause they are carnivores & don't like anything other than them or another oscar
      with them including plants.

    The Flying Fox is probably one of the best scavengers for medium to large size tanks. They are very active and (I think) one of the only species that will eat the hair algae off plants and ornaments, they are aggressive with each other though, so just one per tank, or if you have a large tank get a school of them, but don't put them together as pairs.

    Hey, stupid question probably, but could i keep a crayfish in a turtle tank? I'm looking for something unique that will be able to put up with the turtles, and stand its ground if need be. I have 2 musk turtles and 1 map turtle, around 3-4 inches each, thanks.

    • @EagleAquatics
      @EagleAquatics  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You might be able to actually, I would get a big crawfish though. I'm not sure if turtles eat crayfish though, because they might. I'd do some research on that.

    • @RavenRaven
      @RavenRaven 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Awesome tank...
    Very informative regarding the bottom dwellers..
    I have a 20 gallon with 3 rosy barbs, 2 neons, 2 tetras, 1 black tuxedo Platty and a Chinese algae eater (that’s what it was labeled as in the pet store)..
    I have live plants and some driftwood in there too..I’ve always wanted to get the shrimp..is that possible for what I’ve described? Also..how often should I clean my tank..? I typically do a 50% reduction and I pull everyone out including the plants and scrub the glass with an aquarium scrubber and rinse the plants ..clean the filter completely and change the filter bag about every three months.. I keep an eye on it daily and the water is clear and I turn the light on during the day and turn it off at night.. please let me know your thoughts..

    • @EagleAquatics
      @EagleAquatics  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With the fish you have in there you can definitely put shrimp in there, those fish wont bother shrimp. I would highly recommend Amano shrimp, I have kept them and they are awesome and also a little bigger species, also bee shrimp are cool to, but you can also do the other species as well. Freshwater tanks can go a while without water changes but it depends on the filtration, If you have a hang on back filter, you should clean the pads off at least one a week and maybe a water change every 2 to 3 weeks. If you have more high grade filtration like a sump or canister you can get away with once a month like I do on the 125g. You are doing everything right so keep it up.

    • @jroddy3699
      @jroddy3699 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Eagle Aquatics thank you sooo much for your response.. I do have a hang on the back filter and that's good to know about finding the pads off (thank you) and I'll do a water change as you indicated.. I'll be looking into the shrimp you recommended.. Thank you again.
