ye I love how its not bulging with musculature as well, its like the way superman is drawn in allstar superman, its form fitting but not lean on the skin, showing his bulk and his size but making it so he's a big warm figure that children want to hug, so that his physique isn't imposing to children as well. I like how they are doing everything snyder didn't, making a superman that embraces the funky and fantastical elements of the comics, superman returns only wanted to be connected to the reeve movies
The trailer looked stunning! They said Gunn and the cinematographer requested a Leica Tri-Elmar lens, for a lot of the wide shots. The high color saturation, along with the vintage feel gave me Donner vibes. Also casting for Lex and Superman are spot on, I’m so hype
Superman is a beacon of hope again . We’re jumping right into an accurate comic book universe with established hero’s , villains , past battles etc… Gunn did the impossible for DC and this is only the new beginning 🙏🏾🔥
The cast of characters was pretty much been revealed like a year ago. I've seen a lot of people calling the dude that has all the practical make up, with the white blue eyes, Brainiac. In actuality that is most likely Metamorpho, not Brainiac. James Gunn even said that Metamorpho will be Practical and not cgi. But yeah, 99% sure that guy is Metamorpho not Brainiac.
This trailer made me feel hope & believing in the indomitable human spirit which is what Superman represents. His crest literally translates to that. Last time I felt that was when I watched the Gurren Lagann movies years ago

David Corenswet, the new Superman Actor, was the one who convinced James Gunn to add the bright colors and trunks back because he believes Superman despite being an OP alien he wants to not be scary looking for the people or even children and the trunks will make him look goofy but at the same time a friendly superhero. Because of that, it sold me. This is the start of DCU so they added the other heroes but won't be much in screentime but just to introduce them but won't pull the focus away to Superman. Btw, the Yamcha pose made my conviction solid to watch this film lol.

The dude in black that superman is fighting is RUMORED to be Ultraman, and my personal theory/wish at this point is that james gunn has concealed his identity in this trailer because hes managed to cast Henry Cavill as Ultraman as the ultimate troll.
I _wondered_ if Gunns 'evil Superman' was going to be a play on Snyders Superman, just based on the costume. A lot of people are saying it might be more if a Bizzaro version, but I can't see Gunn changing a character so drastically. He'd just bring the actual Bizzaro in if that were the case. But I can _absolutely_ see him changing Ultra Man to look like a parody of Snyder's Superman. That jokes funny enough to justify altering a characters outfit that much. But I hadn't considered that he might have actually gotten _Cavill_ to play him. ...I think he's got a good enough sense of humor to take that role. Dammit now I really want that to happen. The Snyder fanboys would be so mad 🤣

I think they just made it harder to see Superman in Clark Kent and vice versa. I love the trailor myself, looking forward to the movie. I just want it to be successful, not in a billion dolars sort of way but well received all the way around. We need better DC content too. I also love MOS. I think as a fan, there is room for all, as long as the stories and movies are good and entertaining.

I am one of the best Superman fans. I want to like this movie, this trailer just did not do it for me. The main thing I liked was the music and the people chanting Superman in the background. The first shot of Krypto is just bad…why is the first shot a terrible CG mutt? The next shot of the actually dog walking with Sups cape in his mouth looks great. My other question is how much are the other heroes in this movie? This is the new Sup’s first movie and there are already at least 3 other heroes that are sharing screen time with him. Again, I love Sups so regardless of who is portraying him; I want the movie to be good but this doesn’t do it for me. I read someone say James Gunn does good at writing ensemble movies with little known characters because he can write the characters anyway he feels and rarely sticks to the characters personalities. Guardians, Suicide Squad, Creature Commandos, and even when he did PeaceMaker he told John Cena not to read any of the comics because we won’t do any of that. But this is SUPERMAN! You can do “Do your own thing” with the most popular character in the world. Yes some people like Batman more but Superman is MOST popular and you have to be able to write Sups. As I’ve said twice already, I love Superman so I dearly want this to be great and give Sups a movie franchise with more than 1 solo movie so I’m hopeful the next trailer is better. Also the Suit looked better in the trailer than the still images we’ve seen for months.
