Edge is using a different setup for every song. Means a delay tuned exactly for that specific song. There’s a YT, where his tech is telling that.

This actually shows why you need to be an expert-level tinkerer and have a natural feel for tempo match to play like Edge. If the delay setting is even a little bit off there is none of the awesome resonance he achieves. Also the picking needs to be extremely precise.

You get the point across. 13k likes 👍🏻 I think it’s important to note that Unforgettable Fire marked the Edges embrace of a rack rig. Bad was not played through a pedal at all. He was playing in stereo through 2 TC Electronic 2290’s, Eventide harmonizers, and more. So an analog delay will merely get you in the ball park. Digital foot pedal technology has become quite advanced an plug ins on DAWs etc however. Anything from War on back is totally in the wheel house of Memory Man analog delay. He’s not my cup of tea, he did contribute to guitarists moving to stereo rack rigs. Gilmour more so. Bob Bradshaw was the guy everyone sought out. Edge took minimalism a long way.

Yes! It’s a special delay where it’s just not doing eighth notes so you are hearing the note repeated while you are playing another note, I think it’s something like a dotted eighth note (my music theory is shabby) but it’s basically a delay that fills in the spaces between the notes you are actually playing. Rob does a great tutorial on this exactly how he is doing the delay.

I've always loved the guitar from Bad and still haven't found what I'm looking for . O seen an interview with the Edge and he said he considers every note he plays on the guitar to be " expensive " and you should only play what is absolutely necessary for what you need to get the best sound.

Chill yall not every delay has specialized dotted quarter note timing you cab blend with quarter note or whatever it is.. sometimes you gotta just get it close... Or buy a 500$ delay.

Awesome love the added tab. Man killer strat. Your playing is perfect
You have a great mental clarity. You have a great dedication. You really should write some riffs of your own you have a great knowledge of what works. It's something you have to keep working on all the time it takes the masters years but I have no doubt you can do the same. I love effects based rock like this. I really love Tool and A perfect circles heavy effects ladened metal.
