The best part of this video, is Muse is playing with one of their idols. You can tell it immediately. But music isn't a competition, and the best musicians know it. It's about collaborating with others to make memorable experiences. Edge clearly is thinking he's there to play with and support this group who asked him to play with them. SO MUCH RESPECT to both of them.

This was my first ever Glastonbury and every now and again I come back to re watch this video and every time it takes me right back to that field and still gives me goosebumps!
I always thought this song would be a perfect fit for Muse so this really completes my world. It's got *everything* - the Edge's guitartwangles, Matt tearing into it with his heart and soul, and just pure tightness from Dom & Chris keeping everything nailed down for the frontmen to skate over top. And what incredible energy from everyone here!
Peak Muse. Literally the 3-minute zenith of their career in terms of where they were creatively, culturally and in popular influence. Rare to see a single gig portray the high point of a band and an era of music so definitively. Special moment.
Amazing song and an amazing cover. I can't really put the finger on what is so special with it, it is 100% already from the intro. I guess I must have heard "where the streets" a thousand times but it is never worn out.
You wonder? it's written all over his face when the song starts. He is living the fanboy dream! This is not a tribute nor a cover. This is a kids dream coming true right before our eyes.
True musical talents when combined... never loose their individual credibility ...instead they bring musical harmony to higher levels , thoroughly enjoyable- coupled with increased feelings of nostalgia.
I'm 45,i saw 16 U2 gigs(the 1st one in 1985 the last one in 2010) so i'm a great, better i'm a huge U2 fans....but let me say that Muse did an AWESOME,FANTASTIC cover and Muse indeed, are one of the best band of the last 15 years and one of the best band ever ....especially an awesome unreacheable live band! for me as a live band they 're are better then U2!obviously it's only my opinion...but did you see both band live,i did ...i repeat 16 U2's gigs and 7 Muse's gigs!! anw 2 fantastic band but for me Muse are a better live band!!
Wow giving yourself a lot of credit for a guy who just gave this shit performance a great review. I like muse but the messed up the whole time. Haha. The couldn't stay on time, messed up the harmonies several times. It got so bad at one point The Edge had to literally stop the song in the middle of the song!!!the to get the band back on time. Hahaha. That's the first time I've seen him.have to stop this song in the middle my man. Check it out. Happens here. 4:18 Starts way before though. Watch from here though 4:00

Let's stop slagging off two great bands. I love Muse but I also like U2. They have songs that are unrivalled and Muse have not achieved what U2 have, even if it is just with longevity. That version was absolutely brilliant, I thought because it is a classic, fantastic song by U2, performed by a fantastically gifted band, Muse. You can;t get better than a combination between the two so stop whingeing about who might be better etc; there's no discussion!

love to see how the crowd didnt even use their phone to recorded it or something..they just enjoy the band, the stage, and the music..just, wonderful!
Fantastic cover from a truly great band
After 10 years i still cry when i see this. U2 and Muse for me was like a dream. Matt looks so happy.
As a diehard U2 fan of 35 years , this is a stirring rendition of my favourite U2 song ... I cannot say better than that.
Due fra le migliori band contemporanee! La canzone era perfetta per Bellamy, è uscito un capolavoro!
Peak Muse. Literally the 3-minute zenith of their career in terms of where they were creatively, culturally and in popular influence. Rare to see a single gig portray the high point of a band and an era of music so definitively. Special moment.
I always cry ❤️ THE EDGE + MUSE
October 2019 .. always love watching this collab ...
I swear every time Muse play Glasto they have the best set of the whole festival.
Profoundly spiritual song, in that it moves the spirit.
Edge the rated R super star 🎸
Just speechless at what these guys have done... Excellent work U2, Muse and The Edge
Amazing song and an amazing cover. I can't really put the finger on what is so special with it, it is 100% already from the intro. I guess I must have heard "where the streets" a thousand times but it is never worn out.
it is great because it is live.
I wonder how Matt was feeling in that momment, have this pleasure, play beside The Edge such a great song.... THANK YOU
You wonder? it's written all over his face when the song starts. He is living the fanboy dream! This is not a tribute nor a cover. This is a kids dream coming true right before our eyes.
23 years after the release of this song and The Edge looks pretty darned good. :)
Train Monrovia And still sounds good too. He hits a lot of high notes that Bono now can't.
It's been 30. Well 31 now. Became a number 1 song in 87.
One of the most epic moments in music history
True musical talents when combined... never loose their individual credibility ...instead they bring musical harmony to higher levels , thoroughly enjoyable- coupled with increased feelings of nostalgia.
Muse + The Edge + The streets Have No Name= AWESOME/FABULOSO ;')
i am a fan of Muse and U2.. well this the very best featuring ever.. ♡ It.. ☆☆☆☆☆ those stars for you guys
amazing incredible duets....wonderful show...
Listening to this cover for the first time in 2024 was a gift saved for 14 years. I had chills the whole time I was listening.
Muse are better seen them both but no one can touch Pink Floyd
Man, I envy you🤘🖤
For me it's The Cure...
How is life at 51
Wow giving yourself a lot of credit for a guy who just gave this shit performance a great review.
Starts way before though. Watch from here though 4:00
I am HUGE u2 fan, even been backstage with them once, and iv'e been a fan since the early days, but i don't hero worship them or anyone else, i just appreciate them. it's great though when i see them working with other people, and this was really well done, they nailed one of my fav tracks and as a result of this i now like Muse as well so thanks guys and well done the edge in slowing it down a bit to make it all come together at the begining
It's wonderful
That laugh at 3.48.... every time 😍
It's weird when you can recreate the energy of a single again. What a cover, what a collection of talent!
Everytime I watch this performance I remember when Matt said The Edge was "better than a UFO”, which coming from him is a huge compliment.
that is very good! love the sound of edge's strat!
Here, here!
Muse and U2 are worlds apart. Muse could never write something like this and U2 could never do something like Plug In Baby or Stockholm Syndrome
Mind you Matt is self taught virtuoso!! God damn!!
This is incredible! They did this amazing song justice.
Simply a transcedental experience... so increasibly good. Just another proof that MUSE is one of the all-time greatest bands, ever, period. And together with The Edge, there are no limits to greatness.
Wow, first time seeing this, and suprisingly it's actually rather ruddy bloody brilliant. Such an anthem, perfect for the live environment.
This song sounds like it's some hiddden piece from The Resistance. Amazing stuff.
WTF!
wow , you are so right!
Now that you say it, Streets really would fit in with The Resistance!
You’re damn right. Even the lyrics quite fit within other songs as well.
this song is a classic from a classic album so maybe resistance was inspired
Bellamy is talent personified.
Hands down my two favourite bands, it's amazing to see them play together!
Less than a handful of people in the world who have the honor of staring to their right on stage and saying "THE EDGE" What an honor! I'd probably smile non stop for an entire year.
Well sung by Matt , Edge is really enjoying himself here and Dallas edge's guitar tech right at the end.
