    This is not a luxury watch killer. It is a luxury watch.

    I just bought the prx powermatic 80 in black dial an hour ago. I’m so so happy with it. The bracelet is seriously amazing
    This is my second tissot now. I own the seastar 1000 powermatic 80 sunburst blue dial. I love them both so much !

    Looks better than so many "luxury" watches. Gonna buy the white and gold one soon, looks so classy.

    Just bought the white dial version. The dial and the bracelet won me over. So retro.
    PS, The reason why some luxury watches go for closed case back rather than open is not a cost thing, but so they can be engraved with names for gifting.

    I would say that ETA's are actually an in-house movements for Tissot;)

      Maybe but if that is the case then they are also for hamilton Longines certina mido or any other brand that uses eta under the swatch umbrella.

    Tissot Swiss made means something. I’ve got two Tissot watches and they represent tremendous value for money. Even under a loupe the fit and finish is spot on. I’ve recently sent back three Seikos as I couldn’t accept the flaws. Misalignment of this and that, flaws, engineering shortcuts like scratchy screw down crowns. Tissot reign in this market segment. Also their movements are exceptional. Compare +1 s/day with Tissot with +15s/day with Seiko. Same ballpark money. Go figure. And I’m picky as I have Rolex, Omega and Breitling watches that go for many multiples of watches like this.

  • @ViolinistWilliam

    I just sold the quartz version. It’s a great watch but I’d go for the powermatic if I had it to do over again. The big problem though is that for real collectors who have other luxury options (such as myself) it just doesn’t get a lot of wrist time.

    • @jonasvm
      @jonasvm 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      why would you rather go with the powermatic? what color dial did you go for?

    • @ViolinistWilliam

      @@jonasvm the dial gets surprisingly boring without the pattern, I had the blue. What’s nice tho is that the automatics can be had for a good price on eBay.

    40mm too small? i have a 8" wrist and i have 38mm watches in my collection. Also a vintage 36mm rolex thunderbird. 40mm is my sweet spot. Big watches are uncomfortable and look like ish imo.

    What do you think of the gold PVD version? I think this is a very handsome variation of this watch, however fear the PVD will scratch/chip as well do the indices get lost in the cream/white dial?

    • @ChisholmHunterOfficial

      @@ChisholmHunterOfficial Well... I picked up the cream dial w/gold pvd and WOW!!!... mind blowing beautiful watch. The playful relationship between the cream dial (almost a mother of pearl look) with the gold... makes an under $1,000 watch a reasonable contender for several $1,000 plus watches.... Thanks for the review!

    • @cunawarit
      @cunawarit 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, it is quite big. Videos like this one convinced me the 40mm was too big and I opted for the 35mm, which wears larger than 35mm anyway.
      But yes, in this video the wrist shots do make it look kind of huge!

    I don't think your wrist is skinny. For my 5.75'' wrist, the lug to lug width of this watch's integrated bracelet felt extremely large and the watch just sat on my wrist instead of wrapping around…

    Not to even mention the confusion later when you say that 40mm watches are too small for your wrist (which makes it far far from rather skinny)
