I have a book on that ring (Burn Boston Burn) written by an ATF guy that worked the case, and he noted they did not set fires in houses unless they were abandoned. Using evidence/recollections from the arsonists, (Wayne Miller, the ATF agent author of the book) recalls that on 10/21/1982, the ring did not strike in Boston: they chose Cambridge.
Those poor FF's looked like they were in pretty bad shape, especially the first one and the last one. He was obviously stunned and had a nasty gash on his head. I hope he didn't have a brain injury, but shouldn't his helmet have protected him from that? Having a load of bricks and beams fall on you from 2 stories up is going to create some major injuries, I hope they were all right in the end.
