Quick tip Kev, if you highlight all from DOF recommendation, use scout all option on the right, then go to scouting>assignments>scouting priorities you can then highlight them again and use transfer>offer trial.
@@godseye13k The point is that a couple extra clicks to be able to highlight all the recommendations is a lot less actions to perform to get the same desired result instead of individually clicking trial for 30+ players. but each to their own 🤷♂
Hi Kev! I'm playing in the Danish 3rd division with Lyseng, an ameture club with an overall balance of nearly 30,000£, a scouting budget of 18,000£, transfer bufget at 0£ and wage budget at 0£. It could be really fun to see you tackle a set-up of said club with both transfers, staff, training, etc. I am really enjoing your content, keep it up!
This is awesome. Thanks for this overview. I love the reminder that we have time. I started a save with Chester and had 20 players in right away, before ever really looking at my team.
Nice one, I’m in Step 10 with Runcorn Town and it’s taken over half a season to get a competitive squad. Now with 5 games to go we should grab second place and promotion.
Tonbridge Angels are my FM 23 team. they are a massive challenge as no money and poor facilities. I have managed to get in one or 2 quality players so far that make a difference.
Kev, I started watching you back at Alfreton, and done a few good years here with you. I was struggling back with fm18 I think it was then or 17 as I hadn't played since championship manager 02/03. You did a similar video back then and it breathed life into the game as I was abit overwhelmed and frustrated but you made it all sound so simple. Been applying your advice and tips ever since. Cheers pal
Kev!!!! If you select all your trialists for a position in squad screen. Right click then select report. You can add them in bulk to squad planner from there
Omg..Can I give you two likes or something??Tonbridge Angels!!!My best ever save on previous FMs.Took them from Vanarama South to Premier League and Champions League..I quit the save when they build a new stadium after my name!!!
Hardest for me was promoting in my first season and going to the summer like that. All my key players wanted to leave or wanted insane amount of money, the others were not good enough for the stronger league. So I signed almost an entire new squad, that was hard.
Yeah if possible try to sign them to a 2 year deal even if you have to offer a little bit more, that way when you increase their value they still have a year on their contract you can leverage into a nice transfer fee.
In my day, Tonbridge Angels were an old Southern League team because they were historically semi-professional. Then they moved over to the Isthmian League when non-league was reorganised in 2004.
Great video sir and can we see how you set your player filters that come in inbox eg for agent offers, transfers etc that get recommended and what you do with them and also how you find a settled tactic in non league to fit players and what you do to change them when things go wrong etc
Nice little video! I'm still sturggling to get coaches/scouts for my second division Finnish team. Manually offered contracts to hundreds of people from local areas to other countries and nothing.
U can set staff to do the staff hiring like kev says. Or u go to job center and on the right bottom thers a "put out job ad" button. People who reply to the job ad (takes a while) will always be interested to go work at the club (since they applied to the job ad!).
@@iekue Thanks! I only realised that was a thing a good while in, no responses for months and then I finally offered the DoF job to a sport scientist and delegated everything to them. It's a while different game when you've not got 30 staff from the beginning
I mean, I just started a Tonbridge Angels save yesterday🤣 Must be some kind of sign. Cool video Kev, very useful and straightforward. Maybe a tactical video would also be helpful, at like non league level, no fancy stuff. More in terms of how to choose playstyle and formation, which instructions are worth messing with and what to avoid.
Great video Kev. Would love to see more of them. The next "rebuild" transfer window would be really good. Then maybe down the line the approach of clubs higher up the leagues in transfer windows. League 2, Championship and Prem approach.
This is exactly how I do it Kev, although for realism I keep players on trial until I can see all attributes before signing. This normally means having a smaller group for positions I know I need. Didn't think about the scouting/wage budget though, top tip!
This is great. Lots of questions: how do you manage shortlist? When are the best times to transfer? Second season, yes please. All the end of contract shenanigans worries me. Thanks Kev. Just won VLN with Banbury. Love it.
I hadn't played FM for some years but I was highly inspired by your "non league to legend" idea with the rules to make it more difficult and more realistic. Still in my first season but I'm having a lot of fun! Scouting wasn't going well though, I knew about the getting a lot of players on trial to scout them quickly but I thought I would go against the keep it as realistic a possible rule so I didn't use it so far. But maybe it isn't possible to succesfully build a team in the lower leagues without using the trial tactic. Have you tried playing without getting much players on trial before?
I think in that case you can still just only use star ratings and sign them with the player attributes hidden and based off your coaches or scout recommendations. But also hide the ratings for staff too which Loll doesn't do but he really should. Honestly we should really see attributes for anyone event after trials and def not for staff we hire, we should just see player reports with star ratings and our staff impressions of them and then reputation for coaches along with their coaching credentials, formation preference ect.
Thank you Kev for this awesome video. I absolutely love it and the process that you take from start to finish and the tactics you use when transferring in new players using the minus 4 click process is a genius stroke, I shall be doing that all the time. I would love to see more of these transfers and also how to sell players and loan out players. Also, a video focusing on how to set up set pieces and why you choose a set piece over another one. Thank you again.
Would hope to know what does Lollujo delegate and what does he do, I have delegated training and individual training and leads to injuries and overworked players. Your tip on how to get early decent players is great, I always prefer to get new players from scout focuses as that makes the game feel more real, but understand that waiting for them to get going and then fully scout them would take forever.
I'll show you how Negotiations done properly, probably should've push him too hard . 🤣🤣 I feel you man . everytime I try to make a pre contract signing 🤣
I’d like to see you on end of season release day. I go into transactions on the day and find English releases and offer trials to big team releases. Is there something else that you do?
At 6 foot 6, I am surprised you wouldn't retrain Tommie Fagg to be a back up CB. Also, you couldn't transfer list Parkinson because he is your assistant manager!
Do you ever use the 'Discard' or 'Not Interested' feature? I got into the habit of ticking absolute every player, as depending on whether my club's fortunes change or the player develops dramatically, or they suddenly become financially viable, I didn't want to completely discard them. My issue now, however, is that the same players keep appearing in my inbox repeatedly. Is there a quick/easy way to move close to 400 players from the 'scouted players/acknowledged' list to 'ignore/discard'?
Not sure if already mentioned. I think you can select the trialists in the squad screen -> right click -> transfer -> add to squad planner. Might be in another category then transfers.
Careful on those bonuses for non leagues. The club you're at is always running in the red as is, but if you lock in a appearance fee that's high that's a fast track to bankruptcy at sub League 1 level. At least for clubs that have never made it to the league proper or it's been so long financially it's like they haven't.
You reach a point where they stop recommending players or recommend the same ones all the time, so I tend to stop doing it as often then. Once you start getting regular scout recommendations through I tend to use them more during the season
Hi Kev, I’ve commented a few times… do you do the same with loans? I’m really struggling to get really great loan options and when I try to offer trials sometimes as you know the current club of the players reject it? Do you have any suggestions?
All my loans will come from director of football suggestions or scout reports. A large percentage of them decline or go somewhere else, so it’s a bit hit and miss at this level

Kev, mate you can highlight 50 players at one time and interact with them.
Try it on that screen.
Any tips on how I can fit my wife and kids in to my life now fm23 is fully out? I just can’t seem to find time to speak to them at the moment?
They’ll still be there in a few months. And if they’re not, that solves the problem for next year!
If you don't select to many players from that list (50 max), you can invite more than one player at once!
Not on the director of football page you can’t.
How to find decent loans would be a good vid
Kev why don’t you use the red padlock on weekly wage on contracts? I do it every time I sign a player always save like 25% what they originally asked
I don’t want to scare them off
If your not too cheeky with the counter offer, as I say stay within 25%…they never get scared off, they just bump up their bonus’s a bit
