I lost my doggie of 12 years the following week, and another of my parrots. Cancer, for both. Thank you for the kind words. I will continue to garden. And, I know both of them would be very pleased to know I've adopted a new puppy. Thank you for finding me.

losing those close to us, those who we love either human or animal is very hard to deal with, but for my own experience just give yourself permission to cry, to feel the pain of the loss, ...and offer all those emotions to our Creator, if you can not handle the sadness and pain, give it to Him or to Jesus...I assure you if you ask with sincerity, they will help you. We will see them again, so it is just a journey that they took before us... True story. I lost my dog Sasha some two years back...things happen and she did not wanted to leave...she was my friend, my companion, my support in moments in which i felt down...when she passed i literally felt the pain in my heart, the sorrow was deep, for 3 weeks i was not able to stop crying day and night...could not sleep, could not function...at one point i just ask Jesus to take the pain away because i was not able to handle it anymore... almost immediately i felt the need to go to bed in the middle of the day....I slept for two days...and i remember i only woke up once to pee...and the third day i woke up in peace, and the pain was gone, and i was able to remember her without falling apart. I miss her, my crazy dog, but i know that i will see her again. I hope my story will give you hope. Blessings to you and yours.

Thank you so much for sharing your story. About 2 months later, I ended up having to put down my 13 year old dog, and 7 year old (different one) parrot (I had 3), both due to cancer (both on the same day), and I lost my boyfriend to suicide 2 years before. It has taken quite a bit of internal strength to go on! I, too, am a Christian. In fact, I spent the last 13 years as an associate pastor. I try to keep religion out of my gardening videos because I don't think it's the proper place for it. But, I thank you so much for your encouraging words. I got a new puppy in December, the same day I had to put my dog and 2nd parrot down. I love him, and felt guilty about it for quite some time. But, my name is Mommy. And, Mommy can love all her children... feathered, furry... I love them all. Mommy is ok, now. New puppy makes me smile, and laugh! Thank you for caring!!!!

I want to say a little bit more. My new doggie is a Maltese mix. I took him to the groomer yesterday. He came back looking like a whole different doggie. I just thank you so much for caring about me, and how I feel. Everything will be ok. Most people don't care about how I feel... they just want to know how to grow the plants. Thank you again, for caring about little ol' me.

@@BestBudsGardening not a problem...here is my 2 cents about religion...religion is used to manipulate and control people, however having a close relationship with our Father the Creator of all good things and with Jesus is a different matter. It is ok to say something about what u believe, or how amazing our Father is, or Jesus too...we need to spread the word and help people to see the beauty in the garden all created by our Father. I am so happy u have another doggy...oh boy they really make us smile right?
