FILM DESCRIPTION:
An Austrian teenager (Kirsten Dunst) marries the Dauphin (Jason Schwartzman) of France and becomes that country's queen following the death of King Louis XV (Judy Davis) in 1774. Years later, after a life of luxury and privilege, Marie Antoinette loses her head during the French Revolution.

Hunger, poverty makes people feel rage. Politicians took advantige of that. Royals were sacrificed. Nobility as well.
Watching this, all I can think of is how frightened those children must have been. And then their whole world was turned upside down and their family taken from them. I can’t even imagine the trauma. And as a mother, it is overwhelming to think what horrible thoughts must have been coursing through Marie’s mind at this time.
Well, it was her fault the mob was there in the first place
She deserved it! She was a selfish and horrible person.
I can’t help but think of the starving children she she wilfully ignored whilst she was queen
Although she was in the wrong for what she did. Nevertheless, she is a human being who quite frankly didn’t the skill and was so young to ruled a country. Even when she tried, it was too late, those who are too young to understand or even to have power shouldn’t be in control. I believe she should be punish but also to view her as a monster is by far from the truth. And the sad part about it, the her children have to suffer from the deaths of both parents and being torture by the people of France, in they should not be punish.
Yes but death to the monarchy! Sometimes innocents need to be put in the ground for the greater good as collateral damage. See the bigger picture.
Whoever was in charge of security really failed. They should have evacuated long before things got this bad.
My same thoughts. Whoever waited that long to evacuate the royal family was incompetent.

I agree, but even their 💂♀️ guards men were scared too which is why they didn't do anything, they feared for their lives. This was such a scary situation to be put in!

I suppose M-A was curtsiying the people, like she was defenseless, and totally at their mercy.

I’ll forever ask why didn’t they just leave when they had the chance too? They COULDVE. They tried but Antoinette wanted to stay with Louis and they got caught as the journey was slower with all of them in one carriage. Why just why. They could’ve saved themselves but LOUIS XVI was selfish and wanted to stay so Antoinette stayed.
Louis the xviii may have been an old stupid fat monarch but at least he didn't make the same mistake as xvi
On the other hand If the royal had gotten away marquis Lafayette would have been executed for allowing that to happen, and there would not have been his travels and timeless writing about America

I agree but Marie Antoinette was a spacegoat and her husband was too young and naive and followed his counselors/nobelmen. Her death was cruel, everything they did to her, separating a mother of her children was in no mean justified
