Thank you! I was just going to take my car to the service center tomorrow thinking my doors have failed. Turns out I accidentally turned off the automatic door switch! Didn't know the switch existed until after I saw your video.

Thanks. We've owned our Sienna for 11 years and I never knew about that switch on the lower dash. Granted, my wife mostly drives it, I rarely do. However, the side doors stopped working. After seeing your video, I went out to the van and sure enough I pressed that switch and the doors now function. Doh!

Thank you! My car had been in the shop for 6 weeks. My H picked it up and it wasn’t until I drove it that we noticed the side doors wouldn’t open with the buttons, or the key fob. I was on my way to drive 20 minutes to take the car back to the shop. I had just pulled out of the garage and thought… I’m gonna check TH-cam! Thanks so much! Easy fix and I didn’t know about that switch! Yay! I don’t have to waste an hour of my day driving into town.

Thanks for the clarification on the rear door non-motorized lift from the tail button. It was so weird as I bought this used and wasn't sure if it wasn't working. Overall I'm thankful, because my 1 year old knows how to hit that button and if it was motorized it could damage the door if my garage is closed or much worse, pin him between the rear door and garage.

There is 1 more set of switches that would disable the rear doors. On the edge of each rear door there is a toggle switch that one may have accidentally toggled up while cleaning the car. This switch is a kid safety feature that would not allow operation of the rear doors from inside when the toggle switch is in the up position. There is a label on the door edge showing this.

    • @lilliput1orig

Hello, Steven. I recently got my Sienna. Went to the store today, my mom waited for me in the car. I took the keyfob w/me but left the car running. On my way back with groceries tried to open the gate with the keyfob and it didn't open. Unlocked the car and it didn't open. I had to open it from the inside. Is there something I can do to make sure it opens when the keyfob isn't in the car? Or probably I'm doing something wrong.

My Husband and I just Purchased a 2005 Toyota Sienna XLE , One of the Doors would not open when we purchased it , the other one was acting up when you opened and closed it ,When you were shutting it ,The door would start to close but when it was almost closed it would open itself back up ,Then when you went to close it again you would have to help it along, Now the Door isn't opening at all along with the other one , You Can hear the motor engage but but it isn't opening , We have trouble shot everything, Checking the locks and still won't open What I want to know is how do we fix the sliding doors that aren't opening any longer, How are you supposed to get into the panels if they are not opening.at all ,You can hear the motor engage but they aren't opening

They should still open manually. It may be a bent track bad wheel need lubes. Who knows without looking at it. It may be worth the diagnosis fee to have a dealer check it

Steve you are awesome! Was there a recall on the 2014 Toyota Sienna power passenger sliding door? As the third owner of the 2014 Toyota Sienna, is there any way for me to know if the problem with the passenger side power sliding door was ever addressed and fixed? It pops open but it doesn't slide.

Thank you, I thought I've broken my wife's power sliding doors when my knee hit the power switch without realizing it. I'm not really a Toyota Sienna kind of guy, I'm more of a Tundra guy.
