@121bham They dont just fire those at fucking nothing, must have had direct line of sight. The javelin points upwards but the targeting system is level, so the missile goes up high then down on top of the target.

The thing these videos cant really convey is the sound of battle. The gunshots sound like pea shooters and the javelin sounded like it was 100 miles away. In reality, its loud as hell and your ears will ring if you're within 20ft of a single rifle shot. Has to be experienced to be understood. Ross Kemp has space hoppers for balls.
I guess the audio equipment wont pick up all the true sounds.
I never shot an actual rifle until I went out shooting with my brother in law later in life, my god, even hearing a .22LR ricochet off a tree back towards me put the fear of god in me. That zzzzzzziiiiiiiing as it flew over my head almost made me have a bowel movement, god knows what it would be like to have live fire or freaking Javelin missiles fly over your head.
Microphones can pick up and speakers can't generate such a large difference in decibels. On range we've always had to wear ear buds or muffs, otherwise we'd go deaf.

The best defensive is to hunt the enemy down don't just stay in the camps or you will get run down. Using the drone to search for the enemies near by areas too the closest enemies are the most dangerous

How do soldiers charge their radio batteries while outfield?
If they recharge them they could hook them up to a generator, or use a portable solar panel on base (no clue if they use them but the tech exists). If they don't recharge them, they could just have spares; radio in for additional supplies when they begin to run low.
They're not completely cut off, they have aerial fire support. Drop a crate WW2 style if it's that important.
It looks like they're in a temporary setup though. Just pack up and head home when they run out of supplies.
All of this is me spitballing though.

It's not a '30 cal machine gun' it's a 30mm automatic cannon that is a cross between an armour piercing bullet with a hand grenade inside.
50 cal is 0.50 inch calibre (12.7mm in metric), so a 30 cal, would be equal to a 0.30 inch calibre round, something like a 0.303 old Lee Enfield SMLE and Bren LMG round.. the modern day equivalent would be around 7.62mm.
I might sound like a bit of a ammunition pedant, but a 0.30 cal is much much different from a 30mm shell (ie 7.62mm compared to 30mm)..
