  • EMAS well drilling is a method for drilling small-diameter tube wells by hand, up to 100 m deep. The drilling method is a hybrid between washboring, percussion and rotary drilling. It permits to drill through all kinds of loose soils, as well as consolidated materials and light rock. It will not, however, penetrate hard original rock or boulders (e.g. ancient river beds underground). The usual diameter of the tube well is 37 mm.
The whole movie is now also available on vimeo.com/chann....

@NightslayersEntry The system works in soil with little or no big rocks. Small stones can be handled with a special head. When you hit a big rock, and rocks are not very common, you need to drill again and see if you have better luck. One way to do this is to use a small diameter drill first as a pilot drill, and then enlarge the hole if you have found a place without rock.

I live on the mexico.ariz, california border. So is sandy down 2 feet.So it should be real easy to do a well here.Plus the water table is not that far down really. Our well is 25 ft for the house.I wanted to do another one for both a hand pump for when the electricity goes off,and one for irrigating my yard.As we have to pay $130. a yr if we use it or not out of the ditch.Which has NONE in it in the summer. So this would give me water, and save $130. a yr.Good video.

Not sure I understand what you mean? The pipes just need to stay connected, not necessarily be water tight.

@theFuhrerAH usually, up to 40 meters. In very exceptional cases, 80 meters has been drilled, but that is not recommended. (too heavy)

depends on the size. The drill bit you use has small holes in it, through which small gravel can pass (say, up to 1cm size). Due to the design of the drill bit, larger stones, say up to 2 cm can be smashed or pushed aside. Larger rocks are a real problem: you can cannot get past those with this technique. Other possibilies include the stone hammer technique (look on the akvopedia website), or machine drilling.

Thank you, good video and demonstration. Here in Africa it can help a lot of people. Where I am we have a water problem, but got lot of ground water. It is a very sandy area, what can one do to prevent the walls to tumble in while drilling?

Watching this crew is like watching the three Stooges movie. Go to Home Depot andget the 1 1/4 " PVC supplies and kit and wash in your well an eliminate one or two of the extra men.

Немец молодец. Он наверное технологию принёс индейцам.... У нас в Сибири эта тема не прокатит на 20 метрах скала и хоть затыкайся этими трубочками от коктеля до нормальной воды не дойдёшь ))
