Just another obvious tell tell for this specific model 114200, the band should not have brushed outer links with polished center links. The entire band should be brushed & the crown is laser engraved into the oyster clasp. The band & clasp on this replica is more of that of a datejust model. A quick google search & paying attention to detail as shown in this video makes a world of difference & could save you from getting ripped off for possibly thousands. Great video 👍🏻👍🏻

Hi.i just had the watch guy at Ben Bridges Seattle tell me the only true way to tell ,is to take the back off to see if it's a true ROLEX,all the other surface tests ,are not 100%,but that store Seattle store refused to take the back off to see.to me that store "Ben Bridges" downtown Seattle,by refusing to take the back off of this" maybe fake rolex" are just as guilty as the bootleggers of said fake / fraudulent watch,and we all know copywright infringement is not a joke,this store in the above mentioned should loose their rights to be a authorized dealer of Rolex!!!!!!!

This fake is so bad. Polished lugs, polished center links... Immediate fail. However, there are superb replicas of the 114300 and 116000 that aren't distinguishable without taking off the case back. Google JF factory.

Take a magnifying glass and look at the markings on the dial, if you notice any imperfections then it's fake. See if the magnifier(cyclops) above the date window is 2.5 times magnification, fake watches generally have 1.5 times magnification, on a real Rolex the date should just jump out. Otherwise post on reddit (r/watches) there are Rolex experts there who'll be able to tell by just one glance.
No. Your watch's movement is a Caliber 1570 and turning the crown clockwise makes the hands turn counterclockwise. Of course a watchmaker will say the final answer.

Small error in this video: I purchased a 2023 36mm Oyster Perpetual 126000 from an AD and when you set the time, if you spin the crown clockwise, the hands do indeed move in a counter clockwise direction. Hope that helps some of you that may have freaked out when you heard that lol

Korey Lackford Day-Dates were always 18 karat gold I think. So that would be correct. If I were you I’d at least ask a local jeweler to meet the seller and you just to verify the watches authenticity. Be careful!

@@itscomplicatedwatches I believe he is talking about setting the time, not moving the bezel. The statement that all Rolex's minute hand moves clockwise when turning the crown clockwise is a myth. It all depends on the calibre/movement number.
They should all tick, but a genuine one ticks very quickly. Serial number only does so much. If you're in the market to buy a used one I suggest meeting at a jeweler who can authenticate the piece for you. You'll have to pay them, of course.

Most Rolex movements when you turn the crown clockwise the hands turn clockwise, especially on the model I was talking about. However on some ladies watches, etc, that could be counterclockwizse. But I was correct in that a DateJust Watch turns cockwise while you set it. Maybe the one form 1943 didn't but they all do now and if someone is selling you a Rolex on the street this method still works.

Nasty nasty nasty,would do well to just mute yourself...really....I thought they had sapphire crystals too? Bands may be replaced,as well as the pins etc.if it was opened by someone that doesn't have the proper tools to tighten it back down and repressurize you would be able to easily open it with your hands, especially if you wanted to have easier access to it in the future,as many do for repair, engraving to view the movement etc..... Once you open the back of a watch that says water resistant even if it has the rubber/silicone seal it still needs to be pressurized to maintain the claim of being water resistant...(or at least that is how it was 26years ago) I know the technological aspect of wrist watches has greatly increased but old watches mean old technology,so I am pretty sure that my statement is still true on older models...i worked on watches at a watch shop and then a jeweler later on.... I have seen authentics that I thought were replicas and vice versa....I don't like to use the word fake or nasty due to the fact that a watch mechanism and movement is a very complicated machine to create maintain and repair..... There are people that spend days trying to recreate a $20,000 watch because not everyone can afford a $20,000 watch, it doesn't make it right but it doesn't make it " nasty" either.....for many this art is a labor of love...hell you never know the Creator'sof the replicas could have possibly worked for the site producing the authentics in the past,and if given better quality material the outcome would be a better quality watch.... I received a 70's Rolex oyster perpetual Date today at work (used gold and watch buying). While seeing how it sets the time, turning the crown CLOCKWISE made the hands turn COUNTER CLOCKWISE. Is that an immediate fake alert ? Id really appreciate a reply. Cheers
You're best bet is to give it to a watchmaker to be sure.
Take a magnifying glass and look at the markings on the dial, if you notice any imperfections then it's fake. See if the magnifier(cyclops) above the date window is 2.5 times magnification, fake watches generally have 1.5 times magnification, on a real Rolex the date should just jump out. Otherwise post on reddit (r/watches) there are Rolex experts there who'll be able to tell by just one glance.
No. Your watch's movement is a Caliber 1570 and turning the crown clockwise makes the hands turn counterclockwise. Of course a watchmaker will say the final answer.

Small error in this video: I purchased a 2023 36mm Oyster Perpetual 126000 from an AD and when you set the time, if you spin the crown clockwise, the hands do indeed move in a counter clockwise direction. Hope that helps some of you that may have freaked out when you heard that lol
So on stainless theres no no# on the case,mine dosen't have a no# and it's just like line but I notice the dates some are small and some are bigger.

I got a rep... Gold and black oyster.. just had a right job adjusting my strap.. but i like it. I can afford a real one or even an expensive replica and this for over 30 dollars was better than that one. Looks the part.. oh yeah the strap was a push pin though not screw and was tight as.

Korey Lackford Day-Dates were always 18 karat gold I think. So that would be correct. If I were you I’d at least ask a local jeweler to meet the seller and you just to verify the watches authenticity. Be careful!

Depends on the watch. A GMT should rotate both ways, a Submariner should only rotate one way. Gotta look at the specific watch.
@@itscomplicatedwatches I believe he is talking about setting the time, not moving the bezel. The statement that all Rolex's minute hand moves clockwise when turning the crown clockwise is a myth. It all depends on the calibre/movement number.

They should all tick, but a genuine one ticks very quickly. Serial number only does so much. If you're in the market to buy a used one I suggest meeting at a jeweler who can authenticate the piece for you. You'll have to pay them, of course.

Nice video but you are wrong to say moving the crown on a genuine Rolex clockwise moves the hands clockwise.
Most Rolex movements when you turn the crown clockwise the hands turn clockwise, especially on the model I was talking about. However on some ladies watches, etc, that could be counterclockwizse. But I was correct in that a DateJust Watch turns cockwise while you set it. Maybe the one form 1943 didn't but they all do now and if someone is selling you a Rolex on the street this method still works.

BTW, Rolex is not really a great watch, per se. It is not even a prestigious name when compared to really great watches from Switzerland. However, it was the first to make a really water-resistant wrist watch for everyday use.

Nasty nasty nasty,would do well to just mute yourself...really....I thought they had sapphire crystals too? Bands may be replaced,as well as the pins etc.if it was opened by someone that doesn't have the proper tools to tighten it back down and repressurize you would be able to easily open it with your hands, especially if you wanted to have easier access to it in the future,as many do for repair, engraving to view the movement etc..... Once you open the back of a watch that says water resistant even if it has the rubber/silicone seal it still needs to be pressurized to maintain the claim of being water resistant...(or at least that is how it was 26years ago) I know the technological aspect of wrist watches has greatly increased but old watches mean old technology,so I am pretty sure that my statement is still true on older models...i worked on watches at a watch shop and then a jeweler later on.... I have seen authentics that I thought were replicas and vice versa....I don't like to use the word fake or nasty due to the fact that a watch mechanism and movement is a very complicated machine to create maintain and repair..... There are people that spend days trying to recreate a $20,000 watch because not everyone can afford a $20,000 watch, it doesn't make it right but it doesn't make it " nasty" either.....for many this art is a labor of love...hell you never know the Creator'sof the replicas could have possibly worked for the site producing the authentics in the past,and if given better quality material the outcome would be a better quality watch.... There are 80 year old men living that never thought that they would be able to afford an authentic..true watch makers require a great amount of knowledge and an equally amount of mechanical skill...possibly they bought a replica themselves or possibly it was a gift regardless how you look at it all watches are beautiful creationfrom those that are 99 cents to those that you could save for decades and still wouldn't be able to afford.... I don't mean to complain about your video I've had an affinity for the complication oh these tiny great machines that are coming more and more obsolete with each new day...
