I wonder how fast the first septa set was going on the inner track.

The Septa ACS 64 engine tops out at 110mph by itself and 100mph with a consist behind it. The inner track speed for Septa is 100mph and 90mph on the outer tracks around Levittown. If the engine was trailing it tops out at 90mph.

@@jayfrazr8669doesnt the acs 64 have a max speed of 125? or did septa alter it?

@@kylehutter6350yeah Septa's ACS 64 are modified to a slower speed.

I really like the look of SEPTA's sprinters, more so than Amtrak's.

Is it me or is the Silverliner 4s starting to sound like the Arrows on NJT. The take off and slowdown of the first two sets sound just alike.

@@DanielLamandoat 12 kilovolts alternating every 25 Hertz, even though plans existed to upgrade it to 25 kV 60 Hertz in the 1970s.

@@Joseph-ke3xcit’s because the tracks are over a century old and there are too many turns too sharp for it to keep high speed because the tilting on current Acela is horrible or nonexistent and also the train is wide and heavy because stupid safety laws in the USA different from in Europe’s that allow the train to be a normal weight and also the Acela has to share the tracks with SEPTA and NJ Transit and the NorthEast Regional and doesn’t get its own tracks built for the Acela like a lot of other HSR lines in the world. but at least the Avenue liberty gets to fix one of these things it can go through turns faster because of better tilting and also it’s probably not as too heavy for its engine. I don’t know much about the train itself though but it has a top speed of 165 mph and only goes I think 150 or 155 meanwhile avelia liberty has a top speed of 220 and I think it will get to 165 in the NEC finally I think world class speeds of real hsr even though hsr does start at 150mph
