I'm living near the False Bay coastline in Cape Town. Looking east this morning you could see the beautiful view of the mountain tops covered with snow. After the good rains everywhere you look is vegetation is so lush and green. The air is very refreshing to breath in. We are so fortunate to experiencee this natural beauty for free!
Very few South Africans get to experience snow in our beautiful country. I remember growing up with snow on the lawn of our remote farm house deep in the Koue Bokkeveld for many winters.
@@africaunexpected I have fun memories of it. The closest small town to us were "Die Dorp Op Die Berg" where it still snows frequently in winter or spring seasons. The larger town, Ceres, usually only have it on the surrounding mountians. I think most of the Boland towns (including Franschhoek) have it only on the mountians these days. Sutherland further north east in the Northen Cape province gets snow frequently.
As a matter of interest, we have snow every winter. Normal just more in Eastern Cape and parts of Western Cape like Ceres. 123 years ago Table Mountain was covered in snow. I have a photo.
About 50 odd years ago, my family and I drove to that very spot at the top of the Franschhoek pass whenever there was a possibility of snow. One year the snow was literally in the car park. It was knee high. I have never laughed so much in my life as my Mom kept on falling over. Our poor dog couldn’t walk through the snow, she had to rabbit hop. Thanks for bringing back good memories. If I remember correctly, one can see the Wemmershoek Dam from the top where you were having coffee
Two years ago the snow was also at the carpark level. And like you we had our two small dogs. They were most confused by the white cold stuff 😀. Yes, you can see the Wemmershoek dam from Uitkyk. It is a stunning view. Thanks for sharing your experience.
That is why there was an old SA tourism advertisement years ago that read: See the world in your own country, meaning including snow. What a revelation.
Yes it's snowing...but it's not exactly in Cape Town. The snow on Table Mountain is more in Cape Town as this video claims. And in a really cold winter we get snow in Johannesburg too.
Cape Town is THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CITY IN THE WORLD! The people are so friendly and there is simply no end to the opportunities in summer and in winter! I have lived here for 81 years, and I still feel like 30!
That's the wisdom and power of climatic changes. Quote:Finally,in 1999 or 2000,the Earth will turn on its axis with dramatic climatic changes, the tropics becoming ice-capped and cold regions, becoming tropical. The actual ' flip - over ' will take place over a period of days during which Earth's orbit round the Sun will be interrupted etc. Thanks to the wise scientist for their remarkable research.
Everything about that article is false. Scientist across the spectrum are speculating about a coming pole shift and its timing. Yet, a 5-day scenario would be an extreme outlier. If the Earth were to flip its poles in just 5 days, monumental earthquakes, volcanos, mind-boggling tsunamis, fire storms etc would pummel our biome into oblivion. Very little life would survive such a cataclysmic moment. It’s effect on Earth would be akin to what happened to the Dinosaurs 63 million years ago, when 90% of life evaporated after a 6 mile asteroid struck the Earth at a rate of speed beyond human grasp.
South Africa 🇿🇦 is a beautiful country and the people are amazing people
Protea ice cream....awesome stuff! ❤❤❤. South Africa has the world in it.
And a delicious floral flavour too with no calories

That must have been amazing. Apparently once many years ago there was even snow in the Franschhoek village.

Wow enjoyed the walk with you how Amazing snow in our Brut Franshoek. Mother home Town. Thank you for share 👍
September yet it's cold😢😢😢...
It’s crazy but often the cold and snow ends up in the shoulder seasons - especially mid to late spring.
Hond koud hier in die Karoo...ook sneeu op die berg...Seweweekspoort!
Seems to be quite the he blanket of snow across the Cape. Enjoy.
Thought it was snowing somewhere, it is so cold in PMB.
Top video! Not Cape Town, though. :)
In Europe they drink warmer drinks added to coffee 😂
😀
An I was going to be there this now, week - if it was not for not being able to get the flights I needed in and out of Cape Town, two weeks ago.
Where can you purchase hiking permits for Mt Rochelle?
You pay the fee at the entrance. Either tap or SnapScan. Normally only pay when you come out n
But where is Capetown ?
Just an hour away.
Cape Town is the end of the world😂
Cape Town is THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CITY IN THE WORLD! The people are so friendly and there is simply no end to the opportunities in summer and in winter! I have lived here for 81 years, and I still feel like 30!
South Africa. 😊
No man, you make it colder here in Jeffrey's Bay by just looking at you on that mountain. 🥶🥶🥶🥶 Don't send the snow to us.
Didn't expect snow in Cape Town, during winter?
True, there’s always snow somewhere. But many don’t expect it.
See you all next year in march 2025
I have a wildcard but it is not working there
You can’t use a Wild Card here
😂🎉
Now...
Imagine what it must be for the millions who live in Sub-Human Conditions !!!
That's the wisdom and power of climatic changes.
