      I might consider buying one but it would depend on price/performance compared to the Chevy Camaro, I drive a Camaro now and would consider the Chevelle if it was reasonably cheaper than a Camaro at a comparable trim level.

      Won’t happen at least not with a internal combustion engine maybe with electric. GM has made it there goal to be building strictly electric vehicles by 2025 an that starts with all cars and cross overs working into SUV’s and supposedly they plan to somehow have the technology to be able to have full size trucks with 350 mile ranges. Many people like to say I don’t know what talking about but i work at GM an they made this abundantly clear an is why they fought so hard to not hire the permanent temps they had cause electric cars are much more profitable for them. They take 1/3 of the manpower to assemble,the vehicles are pretty much not serviceable by anyone other then dealers for the most part and they’ll be much more modular builds letting them not need no where the amount of assembly plants they have now. Thank you Democrats,damn tree huggers think if we stop that some how the rest the world will comply an china alone is enough to make anything we do not worth it but they have there plan an they won’t stop pushing an so many cant just come to they senses cause the democrats are good at handing out tax payers money an buying votes so no one will vote republican or libertarian to stop this sorta stuff. Hell Biden in his first week shut down a pipeline feeding a good majority of our oil we use making it so that oil must be sent by semi or rail making then cost go up doubling gas prices and causing 60 thousand $40 an hour union jobs to go bye bye. These concepts are cool to look at an day dream but it’ll never happen.

      @StraightUpTruth that's really stupid. You must be a new gen wanting the modern style Chevelle with square headlights. It's tacky as hell. Originally, the 68-69 Chevelle had circular square headlights. The body style was so much better looking, too. It's sad that you want to have a car like this modernized in an Era of cars with zero creativity of the old classic. It's sad.

      @Mike Whitney, I agree with your assessment of the wheel arches. They look too much like what would happen if you mated a Camaro roofline with an Avalanche cockpit. They need to be rounded and less geometrically choppy. I do like the grille and the general shape of the body. Even the lower ground fx in the Rocker panel areas would not be bad if they weren't squared off and flowed better.

Two weeks latter I was driving a 69 SS 396 350 horse 4 speed with a big smile on my face. Please post his rendering of the rear end. I know the 70 is most popular I believe due to the 454 but the taillights of the 69 are unique one of of a kind. Dan

    • @syxepop
      @syxepop 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That one they teased, the 130R prototype, was much smaller (on a RWD Cobalt-sized platform) and would most likely use I4's (such as the base 6G Camaro's T-2.0L) and only as large as a small (no more than 3.0L) V6.
      People in the Internet back then called that a Chevelle.
      A model with that rendering (round wheel wells, of course) and the 275hp Camaro I4 on it might be tempting if 9M (formerly GM) priced it - U$3K the base I4 S550 Mustang.
      Anything that could stuff the NA-7.0L V8 on it would have to be at least Camaro Alpha-sized.

    Not bad looking but Naw, I've had my fun...Still miss my 71!
    Mines didn't have a 350 tho, It came with a big block 402 / 4-speed / 12 bolt. The 12 bolt was a "limited-slip" not a locker (posi) unit. Fender emblems "SS" only, no engine size or cowl induction. Hood did have the cowl but no vacuum diaphragm-assisted flap. All original factory equipped tho...Jade East Green but no SS stripes.

      @DARTH PUTIN, GM has been way behind the curve of retro-modern muscle and open-air offroad. They need to make an offroad capable entry to compete with the Bronco, Jeep, and possible Scout that VW has hinted towards bringing back seeing how they are intertwined with Harvester. A RWD balls out Yenko Chevelle sporting a LS 7 and 7 speed manual in retro inspired with 4 wheel independent suspension would be SAF! I would say take the drive line and handling of the front engine C7 vette and put it under a new shell and give the Demon a run for its money. I wouldn't be opposed to seeing it offered in coupe, sedan, and wagon format so it could compete with the Challenger, Charger, and Magnum. A 2 dr wagon with all the muscle and handling of a vette up under it would be super sick and a great nod to all the original Chevelle SS variants.

      Ridiculously high. It'll never happen (just like the Impala concept he did recently). The coupe market is nearly dead. If the Chevelle/Malibu IS "revivied" it'll only be a utilitarian 4-door sedan, and we all know it.

    Brian, a month or 2 ago you asked your readers what they thought of if you were to showcase owners of modified trucks and cars. I responded as long as they are not the same truck. Monkey see monkey do! What you are doing here as far as I know is awesome. No one else is doing renderings of the classic GM muscle cars brought into the 21st century.
    As for the squared-off fenders NO. Keep them round.

This i could get behind not like the private companies trying to cover up the Camaro that screams Camaro trying to be a Trans-Am cause they can't get away with changing the C pillar that the Camaro is known for. This I would definitely get and I agree the squared wheel wells should be rounded off and the 👍🏼 button has been SMASHED !!!
