My family has a farm up in New York and we use Wilson trailers. We love them. Low maintenance and very easy to use. The slide tracks for the doors need cleaning and lube every now and then but other then that it’s a great trailer. They offer a air brake tank so if you pull the trailer behind a tractor you can release or set the brakes.
We used to have a timpte but the back axles locked up and couldn't be released no matter what anyone did. We took it to many shops and in the end sold it and bought a Wilson pacesetter. We love the Wilson. We also have an old jet 600 bushel trailer that we pull with our IH S1900 single axle semi. We've had it for years and it's now on its last leg as it's rusting out in spots.
My dad ran a hopper bottom trucking company for 3 decades and we ran nothing but tempte super hoppers! Best trailer you could buy we tried various other brands and ALWAYS had problems! We even broke a Wilson in half.
Farmed on small plots in Ohio here as a kid so I guess I am living vicariously thru your vlogs. Good job in your productions you present your work and yourself nicely
We have timpte wilson and jet trailers on our farm in SW Indiana. We have had the fewest problems out of the Wilsons. Happy Anniversary and thanks for all you do
Can’t go wrong with Timpte or Wilson. I’ve used both and never had any problems. Would recommend getting a tag axle, not sure what limits are in Minnesota but adding one more axle pays for itself pretty quick if you’re hauling long distance. Helps keep the resale value as well.
We absolutely love our trail king all aluminum trailers. We haven’t had any problems with them, and they’re super light. You can get a 41 footer, 102 inch wide by 72 inch tall, easily holds 60,000 pounds of corn without too much heaping, and the trailer weighs less than 10,000 pounds empty.
I would stay with a Wilson or a Timpte they are double walled and can take the flexing of going in and out of the field. And if weight isn't an issue Jet makes a good hopper.
For the extra weight Jet is pretty durable. We got some leased land with some pretty tight approaches, hanging quite a bit of rubber on the rear duals of the trailer in the air with no damage to the hoppers or the fifth wheel.

Hey Zach we just recently purchased a new EBY grain trailer. Hoppers are very nice with large rollers and can grease each one individually. We got a 34ft 96/72. Easy to get in and out of fields and can easily load 1100 bushel corn and 1000 beans. Also does not have straps down the middle instead has a pole in the tarp to eliminate having to always hit the middle of trailer.

I used to use WD-40 in 55 gallon drums, we wiped down the rotor blades on our helicopters down in New Iberia, La. On a new product I bought a can of WD-40 "Specialist" Protective White Lithium Grease. Sticks to stuff real well, like bike chains and such... Pretty good stuff.
im no trucker but my dad is he hauls for the cattle feed lot he works at and uses a wilson hopper bottom for hauling crops like corn, wheat, ect and also uses a Dorsey walking floor trailer for cattle feed

You asked about trailer recommendations. I farm North Central Nebraska. I ran Tempte for years on the farm and over the road. But last year we switched all Hooper bottoms to the new Eby new generation hopper bottoms. We have zero complaints with them. I was concerned about durability at 1st but after 8 months running them, I have zero. Well worth the money. They are aluminum frames which makes them lighter than most trailers on the market, but they are built strong and look really nice. Just my 2 cents, Happy trailer shopping :)
We just got a Wilson in 2018 it was a year old and it's super nice. It's got electric traps and tarp that work off a remote which is really nice to keep the driver away from the dust. They also have the extra tail lights up top which add to the safety factor when they are parked on the side of the road late at night during harvest. It was our first air ride trailer too which is sweet although pretty well everyone offers that. Wilson also has several lighting packages for the sides. Looks pretty slick too.
Thank you for helping out the veteran farmers that is totally awesome. Love your videos and happy anniversary to you and your wife may you have many many more. I bought some WD-40 ... and ... well two spritz on both sides of all my moving hand tools and .... good as new .... so, now I just have a full container still and use it to light my scrap wood fire. Works great if you spray it on newspaper a bit, then crumple up the newspaper and light that. Bond-fire guarantee. Out of date tech manuals, grocery ads, yellow pages, and old financials also work great.
My grandpa has always ran Wilson's. He always had Chevrolet's and John Deere tractors....so I think it's safe to say he knew what he was talking about😉 I always see Wilson's going down the road also.
When i worked for my local Co-op I always pulled Timpte trailers and I had no complaints about them. I worked in agronomy and drove truck for our elevators during the off season, the full time grain haulers all pulled Wilson trailers and i didn't hear anybody complain about them, but they have a plate above the ICC bar that has "Wilson Pacesetter" laser cut out of that, and we had that replaced with our company name, so we got a little extra advertising out of them. The Timpte I pulled was rented from a customer, so it had the smaller hoppers in it for getting in and out of fields, so I ran into issues there, especially in the winter and we had permits for 88,000 gross weight. Long story even longer, trailers are dirt nasty simple and hard to mess up, I would go with the newest trailer at whatever your budget is in the hopper/length combination that you need. No matter what brand of trailer you buy Meritor or Hendrickson are the ones that probably made the suspension and brake systems, and as long as you don't run into anything that is about all that can go wrong in a trailer, other than typical electrical problems which are pretty basic in trailers.
At my dads trucking company we have 2 prestige hoppers and a corn husker hopper. The corn husker is large but very light and the prestige are nice lighter trailers.
JET has a new design for the Aluminum trailers. They build them right here in Humboldt Iowa, and they are a great family run operation. I have 3 Jet trailers, and I would recommend them as they seem to hold up well for me on the farm. The oldest trailer I have is a 1996 steel trailer and it will last me a long time.
Auctiontime my Merritt off for a Wilson. They have vents in the side walls to prevent corrosion and let you dump with the tarp covered. They ride great. I like the straps instead of gears on the hopper drivetrain. They're super light (especially if you get the aluminum suspension and king pin). A custom hauler had T880 with triple axle Wilsons and 23-24,000 empty weight. The pacesetters trail better in the wind than the commanders.
Also the rack & pinion gears on the Timpte are bigger heavier than the Wilson or Corn Huskers. I have had to replace them on the last two. I also think Timpte's handle rough terrain with out structural cracks better than the Wilson.
My dad has run Wilson’s since he started trucking grain in the 70’s. Started with flat floor grain trailers very good trailers with good design they clean out real well and hold a good resale value. But honestly anything that hauls grain is a good trailer. Plus the smaller grain trailers are built in Lennox,SD
Not personally a trucker but we insure a lot of hopper bottoms for truckers. The biggest two we see are Wilson and timpte. Our guys seem happy with both. Don’t really see other brands used with our guys
Marlin Brubacher I gotta second that. W9’s are the ideal truck for someone else to own and drive. I always loved them till I got in one with that junk Cummins crap and between it being a complete pos engine the truck rode like hell and overall was just way overrated. Nowhere near the level of say a 379, a flat top classic, or hell even a t600
Hey Zack. I don’t know if you’ll see this but I thought I’d drop you a line. I own basically the exact same Pete that you just bought. This winter it needs to be plugged in (batteries). The DEF tank has a heater that runs to keep the fluid from freezing so even though that APU should have a low voltage run it’ll cost a lot less to keep a battery tamer on that truck than the little APU will burn in fuel. If you didn’t know, I hope it helps.
Wilson has always been our go to trailer we have 24 of them and have always loved them, we have had tempte before and switch to Wilson and will never look back
Swap over to grain dumps your trucks would need to be converted over to PTO wetline kits to run dump trailers don't know if you haul much lime or rock or sand but you could cut down on fuel costs and deadhead with backhauls
@@MillennialFarmer does that diecast come with or without the Flasher lens? LOL, I used to overhaul the engines on them, when I was a Youngster. Does that model have a 6 cylinder with individual heads for every two cylinders? I often wondered if that was to make it easier on the mechanic, or less chance of a larger head warping.
my dad and grandpa have a trucking company. they haul soybeans and corn locally here in nebraska. they’ve had timpte ever since they started and have never had anything else. dad just got a new trailer this year that he ordered. both run 53ft trailers w a tag axle.
Lode King trailers. By far the best hopper trailers I've ever pulled, I've ran Lode King, Doepker, and Wilson. They're branded Prestige Trailers in the US, Lode King in Canada. I don't have any experience with their tandem trailers as we primarily pull Super-B's here in Canada but I'm sure they're tandems as just as good as their Super-B's.
We run Wilson hoppers, mainly because there’s a dealer close I would say, not any big issues with them other than your regular air bag or tarp hole, not really a manufacturer defect just normal wear, the only issue we’ve had is the jacks getting rusty and freezing up, in which you have to split the bands and weld them back together, easy job really...
I like when you were showing the grain cart and there’s a little sticker on it near the remote for the tarp, and it’s a picture of a guy in the grain yelling help😂 such details when it comes to safety
Anyone who watches this channel knows how well you take care of your equipment. They should find some great buys at your auction.

The DEF tank has a heater that runs to keep the fluid from freezing so even though that APU should have a low voltage run it’ll cost a lot less to keep a battery tamer on that truck than the little APU will burn in fuel. If you didn’t know, I hope it helps.
How is Jim doing i didt see him in a while?and can you do a quick machinery tour.
Wilson has always been our go to trailer we have 24 of them and have always loved them, we have had tempte before and switch to Wilson and will never look back
11:02 looks as if the other side to the rng ramp is missing
Swap over to grain dumps your trucks would need to be converted over to PTO wetline kits to run dump trailers don't know if you haul much lime or rock or sand but you could cut down on fuel costs and deadhead with backhauls
will you do a live stream when your fs19 map comes out
Unlikely. He’s said multiple times he doesn’t play video games
It’s out
Congratulations on your anniversary.....God bless you and your family
We need more millennial snapping finger action
Yeah. Intro "snap" outro. Vids done in less than 3sec. Wsy to go!
RoisinT2 that’s perfect, I can now get back to my farming duties
Very lame
Wilson is the best in our opinion. We have 8 pacesetters. The traps open easy and no need to spray lubricant on the traps to get them to move freely
We use Wilson Pacesetter grain trailers. 42', we love them. We have 7 of them.👍👍😀
Did you get to see the new EBY grain trailers.
@@TheFarmingLife No I haven't. Will check them out.

@@TheFarmingLife Thank you 😃
We have been running Wilson’s as long as I can remember. Been good trailers, we use them all year, and extremely Tuff
Don’t sell the MN Moline!!
He NEVER will
Never!!
They are selling the Moline as a diecast 1/64 model though!!!
kyle p. WANT
Im no trucker but my uncle is, he has a 3 axle maurer hopper bottom and it has never had any issues
Love the old tractor! I have some vids of a 1956 MH50 I'm restoring as we speak. Keep up the good work,we all need you guys!
my dad and grandpa have a trucking company. they haul soybeans and corn locally here in nebraska. they’ve had timpte ever since they started and have never had anything else. dad just got a new trailer this year that he ordered. both run 53ft trailers w a tag axle.
Always a pleasure to watch, best wishes to all from England
I like when you were showing the grain cart and there’s a little sticker on it near the remote for the tarp, and it’s a picture of a guy in the grain yelling help😂 such details when it comes to safety
