What sucks about this rewind is they didn’t include the top gamers and animators. The Oddonesout hit 10 mil and many other animators hit one million, yet, they weren’t mentioned. How sad is that.

Most animators that are popular on TH-cam aren’t very good at animation. All they do is that “story time” garbage.
@@SmoothTurtle840 Might be garbage for you, but people like me really enjoy their videos, which is why they have such big followings. And yeah, the animation sometimes doesn't seem finished but that's just because one person is given a month to draw, colour, record audio, shade, script and edit an eight-minute video to fit the youtube algorithm.
Another thing is I feel like TH-cam should have fit reactors somewhere.

Matpat makes a good point. During his interview with Susan Wajiski he asked why gamers are treated like second class citizens. Susan says they’re not. Yet instead of showing the actual gamers that made the games popular, they just showed the games.

FYI Rebecca Black is actually a decent singer. It was because of the autotune that happened because the recording studio she went through wanted it/edited it that way. The public bashing years ago was very unnecessary.

2012-2015 was the peak. You were able to see the TH-camrs involved, good production, VERY trend/meme/popularity based and honestly rewatching them all they were the only ones I remembered.
ALSO Mat addressed the thing with the videos games in 2019 which really pissed me off as well, but no one notices.
Real talk tho. TH-cam started out with people who did it for fun and you can still see how different the content is when its from a creator who is doing TH-cam for fun vs doing it for money. I feel like it might be a good thing to see the creators who aren't in it for the money take the forefront of youtube again.
I agree, but I also know that many youtubers put a lot of work into making really great, well produced videos and see it as their job, they deserve to get paid just like everyone else. I also think that it's pretty evident when someone does it just because they want to be a youtuber and when they do it because they genuinely enjoy making the kind of content they make and connecting with their audience in the way that youtube allows them to. I'm the kind of person who is only subscribe to a few youtubers, but I know that I can count on those people to always, ALWAYS put out content that I'll enjoy, i don't mind supporting them. If they're giving me great videos, I don't see why they shouldn't get payed for the effort it took to make them.

2013 and 2014 are THE best rewinds 100% and this just makes me sad for 2 reasons. 1 is being with all these youtubers since they started their channels and seeing all their rises and falls, happiest moments and saddest times and seeing some of my favorite youtubers (like SMOSH with Anthony and Markiplier with Danie Kyre aka Cyndago) losing prominent people in their lives and 2 is just re experiencing things that made me happier when my life wasn't the best.

Yeah, it was weird there was a lot of focus on individual creators in certain categories but gamers were left out, along with other categories like animation.

So many TH-camrs that were part of each TH-cam rewind and were part of the TH-cam memories have been canceled, and it legit breaks my heart.....
It's not that the 2019 rewind was the worst video they've ever made, it's that TH-cam missed such a good chance to do exactly this, rewind the decade.

MatPat and Gus's comments were very well said. As viewers I think we put to much pressure on TH-cam as do the creators and brands to satisfy us specifically. There definitely needs to be more transparency, but TH-cam can only do so much. As a viewer, what I hope to see in the next decade is better communication between all four sides and the incorporation of careers to do so. Hire people specifically to listen to the viewers, creators, and brands and report directly to TH-cam's higher ups to figure out what will ultimately work for everyone. I don't believe the current Customer Service platform sends our criticism or suggestions to those who could incorporate them, and I think it would make for a better platform if this was introduced.

What made the old rewinds great was that if you didn't know who or what something was, they portrayed it in a way that was interesting and made you want to look it up. Not just a bunch of strangers dancing, but a moment from their lives or channel what exemplified who they are. Not the fact that they merely exist.

Mat talking about TH-cam's struggle to please everyone reminded me of when I studied Romeo and Juliet and how they tried to please their parents and families, the church, and have their love. In the end, they died because of this constant trying to please everyone. Basically, TH-cam, please don't die. A majority of my waking hours are spent here.
