Right?!?! That's why I dress in 40's/50's style all the time. It just bugs me that they gave the girl in the '40's the iconic I Love Lucy poodle top hair do. That didn't come into style till the late 50's early 60's, certainly not in the 40's. Wish they did better research because the accurate hairstyles from the 40's are adorable!

The 80s style was not accurate at all. What it's shown here was more for skating and would not be seen at the beach. Since the 80s was the decade of the super fit (aerobic dance, body building, Jazzercise, etc.), swimsuits for women were either one piece French-cut style (meaning high cut on the thigh to make the legs look longer) or French-cut bikinis.

For looks I like 1930 to 1950 the best. 1960 was still good. However the 1920 suit looks so comfortable.
Tbh from the 70s to present was so off. None of those were popular trends. Really wtf was the 90s. Who the hell wore any of that in the 90s? The cut out, the earrings, the glasses, the silver. ..never saw none of that shit as a teen. Maybe a silver tee or A line skirt but seriously hope no one thought that was common beach wear lol

I'm taking a wild guess saying that it was based off the pin-up fashion of the time. In my opinion the hair,makeup, and heels were a bit much, but I will strongly say the bathing suit doesn't make the model look rectangular.
