      not only that, but the flapper dress was rarely worn outside of clubs and during the day. The day dress, the hem longs were a lot longer. Closer to the 30s/40s did the hem line rise. Evening dress is not the same as day dress and for some reason people like to confuse the two.

    • @ClockworkCouture.
      @ClockworkCouture. 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@ZimVader-0017 corsets were pretty much completely out of style by the 20s but the 40s spelled their total doom. What was worn as undergarments in the 40s were stays and girdles. The steel in the boning for corsets was requisitioned for the war so what few corsets remained were exorbitantly expensive because of the metal shortages. That and the women's rights movement which had started in the early 1900s and 1910s had fully picked up speed and many women thought corsets to be oppressive and refused to wear them on principle even before the steel shortage made it impossible to get one.

    First of all, you have to decide if you’re gonna show day dresses, or formal dresses. Secondly, almost nothing in this video is accurate. Most glaring is the fact that YOU WOULDN’T SHOW YOUR KNEES IN THE 1920’s. Not to mention the fact that there should be no definition of the waist as far as the fit. And that just the first one! Goodness me, just hire a dress historian, or just do any research whatsoever on each decade.
