CHECK OUT MY SHOP tiinasdiary.com 🤍✨Heyyy alllll of my lovely friends ❤️ It’s so fun being here after a long break! While I was not posting here, I was working on my new shop, making prints, creating my website, packing orders and maybe crying a bit too (👀) and I’m telling all about it in this video 🥰 I really hope you enjoy this video and you learn something new about making a website!!
@@Tiinasdiary haha yes really! You are clearly extremely well organised and have done your research! I also agree with all your advice (aka dont spend a lot on shipping supplies, reuse etc)
Congratulations and good luck. Found you first on TikTok and fell in love with your paintings. HAD to find you on TH-cam for long form videos because I love your work and wanted to see your whole process. ❤ The aesthetic and vibe is so comforting
Hi Tiina!! thank you so much for this video and being so honest and transparent about your whole process. Love your work and would love to see more of your art videos. Congratulations on your shop and wish you all the best for your very bright future 😍
Tina your prints are BEAUTIFUL! I've never bought prints before, but I'm just going to *have* to pick something from your shop! Thank you for sharing your experience and huuuge congrats on the launch!!
Wow, that sounds like a really great job! 👏🏻 I always wanted to have my own shop either but understand that I’m not ready yet. So much to arrange… oh gosh 🫠
Yes! I'm glad you scanned your book(s). Worried me, that irreplaceable risk. You're a pro so probably know already but did you talk about image quality - 600dpi at 8x10 pic size is equivalent to ~30Mpixel so seems reasonable to magnify or crop as desired. Apart from the original artwork, the file type and process you use gives you control over the final printed result. E.g. Apparently PNG lossless format is popular, maybe your software defaults to this? Of course the printer resolution and colour accuracy is also a factor. Sorry, I zoned out halfway through the vid!! Last subject I heard, your pricing - Imho your art is very high quality, so by comparison to others you need to be a top 80% price point at least. You need to survey your competition. It's a constantly evolving balance... Never sell at a loss, your business is not benefiting from 'loss leaders' unless customers make repeat orders. Unfortunately commercial mindset is tough, SO different to artistic temperament... Also plan and prepare for variance, I.e. not enough sales but also A LOT of sales, how will you handle a rush of orders, especially at deadlines like Christmas...! You are such an open and genuine person, the vid was fun & informative too!
Big congrats on the shop launch Tiina, great video in the process and its helpful always to hear what people go through because so many dont understand what it really takes to do something like this.
Thanks for this, Tina. I'm an absolute newbie with Photoshop and I find it quite overwhelming any time I try using it. Do you have any suggestions on approaching this? Are there simpler programs to edit photos, that you've heard of?
Hi Tiina I absolutely love your channel!❤ May i ask please how you protect your art from being reproduced when send to printers? I am asking because if you email art for instance to printers then they have copies of your art? Cant they then print and sell for own profit too without you knowing? Or how does it work? Love your work❤ thanks so much for sharing your journey and tips
Simply amazing 🥰 Are you going to sell more originals in the future? Would love to buy one of your paints of springtide scenes. Thank you so much for sharing your art with us, all the best! Wishing you a wonderful and inspiring Christmas season. ✨
Thank you so so much!!! I talked about this at the end of the video but I’m going to be adding some winter originals in the shop this sunday!! But I’ll try to drop some originals every now and then going forward 🥰
@@Tiinasdiary sorry, I was so curious that I left before the end of the video and went to your shop. Going to buy some copies and an original this Sunday. So excited about it 🥰 Many thanks for your reply and the good news 😊
3:46 For the record, half the world is always in the opposite season too, so it might just be a case of marketing to those countries if youre making seasonal work in a different season to the one youre living
Yep that’s totally true and I said it originally in my video but it explained it sooo weirdly that it didn’t even make any sense in the end and cut it out 😂
I’m often having a bit of a hard time explaining things in English but yep I was just trying to make an example of how the seasons could affect your sales and how you could plan ahead with those in mind ✨
That makes sense! As an Australian I just find so often the Northern Hemisphere forget that we like to feel cosy in the middle of the year and our Christmas is often spent at the beach! And people then don't take advantage of targeting their 'off-season' stock to a different part of the world !
