Breanna Stewart made it pretty obvious that the other two (Reese and Cameron ) she prefers because they did not come out of the gate playing great. They came in and took time to “learn the WNBA” blah blah and got better. Like Donny Tarausi wanted Clark to have a “big learning “ curve. I disagree You take a good player with good footwork and post abilities and they’ll get a shot off a lot easier than being double and tripled teamed. The problem is when that happens those open players need to come to the ball and not sit in the corner. One on one is much easier to overcome than getting double and triple teamed. Also, the referees have been going out of their way to not call fouls to show that they’re not towards Clark, she has a much harder schedule and a much worse team…. CC is getting double and triple teamed and Angel Reese is getting multiple rebounds on her own layup misses.
Do you know it’s harder to maneuver in the paint because of all the bodies that’s camped in there? I was a PG, one of the quickest and I welcomed double and triple teaming because it left my teammates open. So what you’re saying has no merit. As a PG, you should know not to dribble into areas where you can be trapped. And you should never dribble the ball away from your body like CC does. This is how the girl in championship game kept taking the ball away from her, and now they’re doing the same in the W

You take a good player with good footwork and post abilities and they’ll get a shot off a lot easier than being double and tripled teamed.
The problem is when that happens those open players need to come to the ball and not sit in the corner.
One on one is much easier to overcome than getting double and triple teamed. Oh and Angel’s not getting guarded all the way up the court either.
@HvnBndKJV She’s getting doubled team off of screens. The reason why? Because she’s a turnover machine so you SHOULD trap her off of the screen since she keeps giving the defense the ball. The problem is that she can’t create her own shot on elite defenders. She’s not good enough to create iso points which is why there’s sleek this narrative that exist only with her that her teammates aren’t helping her get open. She’s limited and predictable. She can’t dribble left at all but she can only shoot going left. Watch the film. She can dribble right but she can’t shoot and won’t shoot a jumper going right. Watch the film. She brings the double team on herself by needing screens and not knowing how to make the defense pay for the double. She rewards it with the most turnovers in history.

I agree there are some elite guards in the league but very few and I still believe if the officiating were equal on both ends she’ll still put up greater numbers.

Caitlins stats are fine (only needs to cut down turnovers, but I get even A’ja isn’t guarded like Caitlin is). She’s still Top 20 in every major offensive/defensive category. If Angel had the stats like that, they wouldn’t make it co-rookie of the year, she’d win it outright

@ransom6892 ok. I apologize. I misunderstood what you were trying to point out and thought you were one of these people that try to downplay her stats. And I do agree on the turnovers. I know a good percentage of her turnovers are from missed or bumbled passes because I don't think her teammates are quite used to having someone pass the ball the way she does.
If she took less risk with her passes, then she wouldn't have as many turnovers. But then, IMO, that would be like trying to tell a prime Bird or Magic to tone down their game.

All sports analysts are biased to a degree. Their job is to take statistical data and deduce a hypothesis based on their personal experience. It's the reason there are many different opinions regarding any given subject. Reese Average 13.2 points, 11.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.4 steals.
Clark has more blocks per game, blocks are either a function of being 1 feet taller than your opponent like Rudy Gobert or incredible IQ mix with athleticism like Anthony Edwards Or Kawhi Leonard used to be…. It’s definitely dirty work.
Also, Reese has 39% shooting and 95% of her shots are from the paint or layups… that’s straight up uncoordinated. Kaitlyn Clark is taking her shots from 30 feet out and at the minimum doubled half the game where she has to do crazy crossovers, and fade Aways.
Also, the referees have been going out of their way to not call fouls to show that they’re not towards Clark, she has a much harder schedule and a much worse team….
And if anyone starts talking about all the turnover, she had, immediately stop listening to them because they haven’t watched the film .
60 to 70% of her turnovers was her making incredible passes that her team didn’t think we’re possible and was not ready for which are now being caught and turned into points .
