Catherine Engelbert was a joke, not acknowledging the obvious. CC has increased the viewership and the merchandise sales. CC jersey sold out in 17 minutes, and they didn't produce more. It is good for the leader, the rivalry between CC and AR is great too, and will help keep the momentum. That said, AR is awesome, but CC is running her team and you can't compare the two, and leadership and running the team is an important factor.

That's what happens when you put together a team based on politics. A team cobbled together by fan voting is somehow a better contructed roster. Team USA has 5 score first shooting guards. What's more, they're all fairly useless if they're not scoring. You have guards in this league that are unguardable (Arike, Carter) and you have guards that can hugely impact the game for you without scoring at all (Carrington, Clark, Courtney Williams who is on Reeves' wn team) and they go with a bunch of people that all need to shoot volume and score to be of any use. Their lone center (Griner) has just come back from injury and is slow as hell on defense, so easy to run past her. Their lone point guard (Gray) just came off a year injury hiatus and she looks slow and washed up. Team USA is gonna rely of A'ja, Stewie and one of their million shooting guards to all have 25+ every game so they can win games.
.... this is what happens when Team USA decides to reward old friends instead of building the best possible team..... 7 guards? ... and yet the guard who is leading the league in assists and 3s just beat you! .....and depending on the competition, that general attitude of entitlement might win gold, but i sure won't be watching it.......

Clark has been shooting horribly lately and Reeve must not care, she only cared about showing Clark up. Reeve did shut Caitlin Clark down at the 3-point line, but Clark has been shutting herself down because she hasn't been able to hit the back side of a barn from the outer ring. But she's elite and made Reeve pay for her misguideance. Smoked the pretenders out with her A1 passing ability with 10 assists. Reese getting her normal double-double, and AO absolutely embarrassing them.
Even the Olympic team (THE OLYMPIC TEAM) kept her little rookie self defended the hardest because they knew that if she got hot, it was going to be a double digit to zero run for at least 5 minutes! LOL BUT, in her drawing their best defenders, that left Arike open to drop buckets on them and that's the Caitlin Clark problem for anyone on the other side of the court... ...if you don't double or triple guard her, she'll score on you and ramp her team up, but if you do double or triple team her to contain her, that leaves the rest of her squad free to put in work. Either way, Caitlin Clark is a problem if you're playing against her!

She's gained two pounds of muscle so far and already become more physical on the court. What she's losing in accuracy with her increasing strength will self-correct once she reaches the 'fighting weight' that Sides wants her at. In the meantime, CC is focusing on her ground game with drives for the basket and assists. Boston is slamming two-pointers in the net from CC's passes to her and doing a good job of getting them extra points with her foul shots. If Smith can get her act together and get in on the pass-chemistry like Boston has, CC + AB + NS = an offensive triangle of death for defenses of other teams to lose their minds about. If they double up on CC they'll leave lanes open for AB and NS. If they don't, CC will make more drives into the paint and her increasing strength will make her tougher to stop. Sides is making a very smart move with her long-term plans for CC with the weight training and increased muscle-mass. It's also a huge plus that CC is able to adapt so well and still be a force to be reckoned with via her ground game. The amusing thing to me is that critics were calling her a one-trick pony with her three-pointers. Now, she's showing them that she has mad skills in a number of aspects of playing the game.

Caitlins 10 assists versus 2 tournovers and 2 steals (hmmm aren't turnovers and steals kind of like inverses of each other?) - so 10 assists mean about 24 + 4 points for All Stars. Not as good as Ogunbowale but in the top 7 or so of all the players on the court that night (starters + bench for both teams). So show a little respect to CC

That was much better than expected. Was awesome seeing coach Miller again. The attitude on the all star bench was all about having fun. Coach Miller made sure of that !!! Plus knowing most had the next month off after this game, they could play lights out fast paced Clark type basketball !!!!. It was awesome seeing Jonquel Jones catch Clarks long pass. It was also great to see that awesome pass Clark to Boston and Clark to Angel R. K. Mitchell was also awesome !!!!! Just gotta love that great smile of hers. The Olympic team knew they could not play lights out and did a great job staying with the all stars until Arike O. kicked it in to overdrive. When she is hot, She is hot. When she is cold, She can't hit water falling out of a boat. That is the way it is with great shooters. Clark was right to say she didn't want to go back in and just watch, because when a player gets hot, you let them cook. Arike was cooking and Clark knew that !!! Too bad Chrispy Sides does not know that. (She is the anti-Clark way) Back to 80's style half court basketball after the break with the Fever and Sides. It was very nice to see full court pressure in this game. The Olympic team needs all the practice they can get seeing different players produce results. I'm surprised Clark did not make a logo 3. You watch her practice and she very seldom misses a 3 pointer. Another one is Lexie Hull. You watch her practice and she makes 9 out of 10 from 3 point range. But in a game she is lucky to make one. What she's losing in accuracy with her increasing strength will self-correct once she reaches the 'fighting weight' that Sides wants her at. In the meantime, CC is focusing on her ground game with drives for the basket and assists. Boston is slamming two-pointers in the net from CC's passes to her and doing a good job of getting them extra points with her foul shots. If Smith can get her act together and get in on the pass-chemistry like Boston has, CC + AB + NS = an offensive triangle of death for defenses of other teams to lose their minds about. If they double up on CC they'll leave lanes open for AB and NS. If they don't, CC will make more drives into the paint and her increasing strength will make her tougher to stop.
Sides is making a very smart move with her long-term plans for CC with the weight training and increased muscle-mass. It's also a huge plus that CC is able to adapt so well and still be a force to be reckoned with via her ground game. The amusing thing to me is that critics were calling her a one-trick pony with her three-pointers. Now, she's showing them that she has mad skills in a number of aspects of playing the game.

She had an amazing game last week against Clark as well! did you notice any similarities in the pace or style of play in the Dallas/Fever Game as well as the All Star win? Both Caitlin and Ogunbowale brought a fast paced transistion style. Team USA did not know how to adapt to that. Caitlins 10 assists versus 2 tournovers and 2 steals (hmmm aren't turnovers and steals kind of like inverses of each other?) - so 10 assists mean about 24 + 4 points for All Stars. Not as good as Ogunbowale but in the top 7 or so of all the players on the court that night (starters + bench for both teams). So show a little respect to CC

That changed, when The Olympic committee started selecting professional athletes to compete in the Olympic basketball games. I'm surprised Clark did not make a logo 3. You watch her practice and she very seldom misses a 3 pointer. Another one is Lexie Hull. You watch her practice and she makes 9 out of 10 from 3 point range. But in a game she is lucky to make one.
