I love swatching colors....it so relaxing! No pressure to create a masterpiece, just get down your little boxes of color however you do them....paint on that beautiful color and enjoy. Love it!
I only have w&n cotman for now. :/ and that was a big upgrade for me being in the financial situation were in with all this mess going on. I'd love to try the pro version or other pro paints, but the cost just jumps so much. I also end up feeling guilty spending too much on what, for me, is essentially and hobby and therapy.
But, I know the pro versions of paints are so much better, so, on my wish list for one day far into the future :)
    Thanks for sharing :)

I actually prefer the Cotman colours to take out because they dry hard and I don't get into such a mess with them when I take them outside to paint. They activate pretty quickly especially with a waterbrush. That cotman cadmium pale hue is a wonderful colour, it's nice for portrait painting. I love their turquoise as well and the permanent red is gorgeous. The Cotman burnt sienna is beautifully transparent

the 12-pan version of this set was my first palette as well! I used them for years until i moved to Van Gogh (which are much more pigmented imo and somehow creamier formula). The cotman have a certain delicate quality though, they are nice for softer results and transparencies. To this day i prefer the pr101 version of burnt sienna because i got so used to the cotman version ^^ What kind of artwork do you use them for?

What are the odds?! Haha thats crazy! I've heard good things about the van gogh paints, good value and pigment, haven't got any myself since they started coming up as I just bought a palette by another brand :/ maybe in the future :). I use the paints for things like Christmas cards for family and friends or try out pieces before starting a super rendered version. But because I've had them for so long I've created many paintings with them so I'm probably forgetting some :)

@@myfantasticalimaginarium1890 it's ok we don't need every brand in the world, as long as our supplies work for us. The cards are such a cute idea with winter approaching!
