I’ve listened to the Beatles since I was a small boy on a single record player. My Mom would buy me every album as they came out. I am still in love either way their talent and I love their harmonies any melodies. I’m 70 now and will listen to them until I’m no longer here to listen to such precious music! Kris

I remember I was in high school when the 'Paul is dead' conspiracy theory was just getting going. There were so many clues in the Beatles lyrics and in the album covers, it was unlikely that it was just a coincidence. But I later dismissed the whole business as a publicity stunt. But no. It probably was true. Paul was killed in an auto accident in 1966 - "He blew his mind out in a car.." "He didn't notice that the light had changed.." Paul was replaced with a look-alike, a very close resemblance, but the new guy was several inches taller.

The only person Sir George Martin CBE. received sufficient acknowledgement from, because the truth is he REALLY was the fifth Beatle, was her Majesty The Queen. CBE, The highest civilian award possible. A publicly, vastly under-appreciated man. His job was to stay in the background, keep his mouth shut and grind out brilliance, which is what he did.

@@justiceforjamespaulmccartney It looks like that is the case. The new guy, William Shepherd (or Billy Shears), was very musically talented himself, but he had to learn how to play the bass left-handed and to sing like Paul.
It's a fascinating tale, but some are now speculating that the car accident story itself was disinfo, to cover up a more sinister tale, where Paul was murdered.
According to this theory, the powers that be wanted to use the phenomenal influence of the Beatles to steer the youth culture in a certain direction. For some reason, Paul was seen as a liability. After Paul was killed and replaced, the band started to promote the drug culture, Indian gurus, LSD, psychedelics, flower power, make love not war, etc.
      Who knows?

They ALL hold a special place in our hearts! Four charismatic, talented guys with a lot of great humor! They brought fun, exhilaration, songwriting, and so much more back into the world, and everyone started a band at the time and wanted to rock, have fun, and live a total different life than their parents did or expected of you, etc. And because of them, the Beatwriters, the folkies, and others, we could! Just like Keith Richards said; "Between 1960 and 1970, it was like 200 years had gone by!" Everything changed. Maybe not always for the better, but in my book, that's where the modern world really started to take off... To have the freedom to live your life the way you want to..

My strongest memory concerning The Beatles remains with the album A Hard Day's Night. I was 15 when it was released and on 15 September that year I joined the Army Training College just outside Harrogate in North Yorkshire, UK. One of my colleagues brought the album and a record player back to college after a half term break and we played the album non-stop every day during the evenings when we were pressing uniforms, polishing boots and the like. Even now - almost 60 years later - if I'm doing a pile of chores I listen to the album over headphones and happily sing along to the lyrics.

I had a pair of Beatle shoes. My brother had a pair of Beatle boots.

My sister had a George Beatle doll.
Some guy walked by the house going to school wearing a Beatle wig.
I pretty much had every song memorized like I'm sure most did in the 60's.
I know it's ridiculous to choose one Beatle song as a favorite but if I was on a one way trip to Mars and could take just one Beatle song it would be " Here comes the sun 🌞".

One day, my colleague didn't turn up for work - his car had broken down. The solution? A brand new Mercedes that was then replaced every three years. He didn't miss another day.

Actually my favourite Beatle was George Harrison as I always thought he was not so arrogant as the others. Having said that I have to say I grew up in that era and Paul McCartney was indeed a really talented songwriter. However I do not envy his life and some of the things brought up in this video have really opened my mind about how he has lived and now is still going - my son recently went to his concert in Sydney Australia and for a fellow of his age my son said he had not lost any of his obvious talent. Lastly I do admire that he does do philanthropic activities and that itself is great.

I'm an Octogenarian, been around a while. before the Beatles started, lover of all kinds of music, the thing about Paul that I always admired was he was or always seemed to be a humble person. and a kind hearted one. at least in the public eye that I knew. And I think it showed many times in his music. I think the love of his life was Linda. though he's found love again I don't think it has or will ever replace that one. thanks for the memories Paul. from one old codger to another! God speed. ECF

I'm an octogenarian too, and first heard of the Beatles a bit late too, when I was working in Mexico. They wonderfully called them Los BeAtles.....
I later, back in London met up with very nice friends of Paul, but moved off to Norway to work and sadly never actually managed to meet him. But have, like you, a very warm opinion of him, as musucian and human being !!!❤

Incredible that he bought a place in Manhattan for 15.5 Million Dollars and then sold it for 8.5 Million Dollars due to rarely going there. Wow, it must be something to be able to just let go of a place at a 7 Million Dollar loss, like, ooops. And then Heather Mills got 30 Million Dollars out of him, a gold digger from Day 1.
Then finally he and John make peace only for John to be murdered shortly before they were going to record together. His wife Linda dies. George dies. Paul has had his share of loss, but is a shining example of someone who holds himself together and always moves forward in his life.

Boy!!!! What can you say? He and the Beatles are certainly a phenominan. Elvis was too, but these guys had such a variety of music. Such an interesting life together. All I can say is: My friend, Jim Tucker, called me up one day when we were in Jr. High school, all excited, and said: You aren't gonna believe the new group that just came out. They have a song called I want to hold your hand, and they have long hair. I'll never forget that, and of course now, their hair they had back then, would be just about right for a lot of people. I'm so glad that I could live through their career and all the wonderful music and excitement they brought to the world. Marc T.

He went in to a routine where he imitated many English accents and various stereotypes of everyday life. His command of these was mind-blowing, and it's no surprise to me that he often travels incognito, almost always being unrecognised. 😮

This is a very detailed and excellent video. Thank you very much. Of course with so much of the Beatles and Paul McCartney‘s life being well-known. Maybe others are scouring this video to find errors which is a pity because it is virtually 100% accurate. However, at one point for that house, it’s not for Fortlin Road. If, for no other reason, the photograph used shows a semidetached house where is McCartneys old house, which is now owned by the National Trust is a mid terraced house.

This is why I admire Paul. I, too, had it all, and CHOSE to live in a small, cozy home. It would have embarrassed me to live in a mansion, or even a large home. I wanted my children near me.....not off in a different wing of a mansion. That's not a home, it's only a status statement. I was never, and will never be about that crap.

I must disagree. A lot of the dates are off by a year or more: Best wasn't replaced right after Hamburg (early 1961) but just before their debut single (late 1962), With The Beatles was released in November 1963 not November 1964, Northern Songs was not a record label but a music publisher, and so on.

I loved their performance at The Cavern in 1962 when ringo Starr made his debut. They Sang Some Other Guy which was one of the very few songs they sang that they didn't write. It was written by Jerry Leiber (RIP) Mike Stoller, and Richard Barret. Jerry & Mike were the first successful songwriting team in music and as a Teenager Paul loved listening to Searchin as acknowledged on The Beatles Anthology. They wrote for Elvis Presley, Drifters, and Wilbert Harris. Richard Barrett was a poor man's berry gordy whose two groups The Chantels (Maybe) and The Three Degrees (When Will I See You Again), were his most succesful projects.
