I'M also grateful to have been a part of that era. Thank you Sir Paul for your beautiful music and your advocacy for animal rights. I met Paul once way back in the late 70s, it was at Lympne airfield, wings were filming a promotional film and used the old hanger at Lympne parachute center, and the wings symbol painted above the hanger doors, a stage was built using the long tables we had and parachutes draped about the stage, I remembered the aircraft starting up to taxy out of the hanger showing them on stage, unfortunately the prop wash blow everything of stage, I along with a few other skying mates hung around to party in the club house that evening till late at night with Wings and onterage and what a great time by all . I remember Alex Black the owner of the club saying to me I think there smoking that funny stuff (what ever that was), also that night mucking about with Danny Lane when he got a bucket of beer poured over him mind you he gave as good as he got, I was standing at the bar with Paul when his daughter stella (a little girl them) came up and asked her Dad Paul for some money for the pinball machine he put his hands in his pocket and said to her I haven't got any money, I fell about laughing. Back then we didn't have mobile phones so no photos, selfies, I didn't even ask for an autograph, wish I had now when I think of it. If anyone out there was at that event I'd love to hear your comments or from you.
He still seems humble and has been kind to help his greater family with gifts and donations when they need help, His kids were brought up modestly which also shows off class

And coming from L18, we will always be ‘Scouse Brothers’, And LFC fans! I went to John Lennon’s primary school (Dovedale) and high school (Quarry Bank), by the way!

Paul is the brain behind the Beatles is bollocks. They all played a part. Paul was soppy, John hardcore, Ying and yang. Throw in George who was a huge and underated talent, Ringo who was the charm and rhythm master and you cannot say Paul was the brains.
That’s so simplistic. Paul was hardcore as well. Writing their heaviest song, Helter Skelter. Contributing many of their most experimental aspects, including the tape loops in Tomorrow Never Knows. There’s so much documentation and evidence that Paul was the brains. I could list so much but that would take forever. I’ll list a couple things 1. John said it all started moving forward once he met Paul and that Paul was the more advance songwriter and musician when they met 2. It was Paul’s song that got them their record contract 3. Early Quarrymen members and both of the Beatles lead engineers have said Paul was main musical genius in the studio. I’ll list the quotes as evidence below, but Paul was dictating arrangements since the Quarrymen 4. John and George complained that Paul would tell them what to play and take over their songs. 5. Paul was also responsible for many of the non musical creative decisions like album covers “I can well remember even at the rehearsal at his house in Forthlin Road, Paul was quite specific about how he wanted it played and what he wanted the piano to do. There was no question of improvising. We were told what we had to play. There was a lot of arranging going on even back then." - John Duff Lowe pianist on their first ever recording, In Spite of All the Danger "I don’t want to take anything away from anyone, but production of the Beatles was very simple, because it was ready-made. Paul was a very great influence in terms of the production, especially in terms of George Harrison’s guitar solos and Ringo’s drumming. The truth of the matter is that, to the best of my memory, Paul had a great hand in practically all of the songs that we did, and Ringo would generally ask him what he should do. After all, Paul was no mean drummer himself, and he did play drums on a couple of things. It was almost like we had one producer in the control room and another producer down in the studio. There is no doubt at all that Paul was the main musical force. He was also that in terms of production as well. A lot of the time George Martin didn’t really have to do the things he did because Paul McCartney was around and could have done them equally well… most of the ideas came from Paul". - Norman Smith, the Beatles engineer up until Rubber Soul
