Where's the lie at? Russo had free reign to put on the show whatever he had wanted including the Brawl 4 All (he said "you could write into the show that Austin fills McMahon's brand new Corvette with cement and the very next week there's a Corvette and cement mixer at the arena"). Nothing was off limits, McMahon never veto'd anything, only added subtleties, as he was only bothered about what Austin was doing, later to be what The Rock was doing. This was why the midcard, and even the lower card back then during the Attitude Era was so prominent. We don't get that now, with 20 writers. The shows average, but nowhere near what it was like back then
Russo had free rein but McMahon was the filter . Russo was only good as the people he had around him. Let him tell it he and ed was the sole reason why the attitude era was successful which was not true because he couldn’t do the same thing in wcw or TNA .

Most wrestling conversations don't come back around to Brawl for all. In fact, it's often skirted over even in historical context, as it should be. It was then, and is now, a completely forgettable gimmick that resulted in more harm than good for the business and people involved. The gobbledy gooker is more interesting than Brawl for all.

I saw the good Doctor "wrestle" in one of Million Dollar Man indie church shows, still a great performer even without the use of his voice and he gave me a big hug and was super nice even tho he was in poor health and could not even use his voice anymore.
