- This week, I tour a new local hobby shop JJ Customs in San Jose, California and talk to the owner Jason and his awesome staff. He carries 300+ rigs at any one time, and they are all unboxed so you can check out all their features first hand. We also chat custom rc builds, first timers at Axialfest, I try my hand at the indoor crawler course, and watch a speed run with an Arrma Typon (89mph!!).
Hobby shops are disappearing by the day, so get out there and give them some love! This is a new style of a video for me, so let me know if you want more of these. Just subbed. Been out of the hobby for many many years. Have not messed with lipos or Brushless so its all new again. As a kid I always wanted a High End buggy specifically Kyosho or mugen. Just bought the Kyosho MP9E and hope to get into crawling soon as well. Love the content of your channel so far.

Awesome video RC GIRL I grew up in San Jose glad to see the hobby is doing well in the valley. Also great to see a dedicated hobby shop owner. I hope he gets into PLANES too and spreads his wings so to speak to another great side of the hobby. Up here in the north west Washington Hobby shops are falling off the map so fast the closest one to me is 50 miles away so I usually get my stuff on line and there's not much costomer service there great video girl keep them coming ✌🏽😎✌🏽

Having a shop like this in your area is great. JJ Customs are the epitome of the Rc world. This guy is top notch, i can tell. Nothing like putting your hands on a potential purchase. I've been watching your videos for months, and never thought to wonder where you are. I'm in Seaside, about an hour from San Jose. I currently have a trx4 crawler kit that I assembled a few months ago, and this weekend will be ordering an scx10 kit to assemble. I haven't found a great place to go crawling in my area, now I will be watching your videos more closely to see places I can go crawl thats not too far from me.

I WISH there was a local shop like this near me that I could support, but alas.... there are not many shops left here in New Zealand, with there being only about 5 decent RC orientated shops in the whole country (all hours away from me). Brands are limited here too, so we mainly shop online from the larger international dealers. Would love to see more videos like this.

Support local shops. I support my local bicycle shop. Otherwise they disappear. Wish we had hobby shop around like JJ Hobby. Nice informative video.

I have 2 shops here in upstate NY. One is Dans Crafts and Things, they're more business than pleasure but have everything. Then theres Performance Hobbies, its JJ's but smaller. You go and hang out, talk about anything and just have a really good time!
The answer " Customer Service!" This place is on my list of shops to visit next time I go to the south bay

I just bought a few cans of paint at my local hobby shop when I was in the city and I always try to order online from them when possible great message to keep them afloat. The shop looked very cool amazing collection! Great rock crawling and if you did a 5k would be crazy haha. That Arrma Infraction is one sweet looking truck I need to get it. Cheers 🍻👋🇨🇦
Please more videos like this, very interesting. I dont have any RC shops in my town or close to me, only a toy store which offer a few Tamiya/Carson models, so the online shops are the best solution for me.

I don't know if you will ever see this comment, but you were asking about a solder Iron. I've soldered for over 18 years and the longest lasting solder tips are the Weller line, we use the Weller WX2, It's a bit pricey but a tip lasts for 3+ months 8 hours a day set at 800 degrees, also it goes in to a sort of sleep when you dock it. We think is a magnet sensor that tells the iron it's docked and turns down the heat and when you un dock the iron it will get back to temp in a few seconds, literally seconds. It also has a power down sleep mode after 15 - 30 minutes (how ever you set it up in the programing). Heat transfer is phenomenal compared to the Hakko 932. They also have a 1 channel that is less on the $$$ and the lower line is also fine to use but they generally don't have all the smart functions that really is use full when building and soldering. Just depends on what you really want to pay for and the performance you want out of it.

I'm 62yo and have found myself in similar unflattering and hard to recover from positions with my smartphone taking photos of my TRX4 in the front yard rock garden. 'Red' and I would sooo like to crawl that rock pile in the store; we're envious. I'm finding it edifying/gratifying that such enjoyable applications of RC technology are making their way down from military 'predator drone' UAVs to benign toys to be enjoyed in our back yards, parks, and organized competitions. RC Girl; if anyone could flourish and prosper as a presenter/spokesmodel for RC Hobby based tours, interviews and insights it's yourself. Remember; it's YOU I spent 20 minutes intently watching soldering wires. :-D

i miss driving my rc cars. I have a old school ofna 1/8th scale buggy for offroad racing and a old school team associated street car with a 2 speed tranny.. both gas. but ya local hobby store disappeared. we still have the one at the race track though.. so I guess I should go stop by sometime see if they have the parts to fix mine. who knows what they are racing down there nowadays.. they always seem to change up whats hot every year or so.. been so long since I drove mine.. both need small repair I think.. but nothing major.. but they are so old.. but still fast!

I remember going to Sheldon's hobby shop back in the day and buy slope gliders. Build the glider and then go to Sunset beach and fly at the slope, many hours of fun.

I've been in the hobby since 1985, and rc country is probably the oldest shop I know of in the area
