- This week, we tour the new HQ of the world's largest hobby retailer - Amain Hobbies in Chico, CA! They invited us out for their 20th Anniversary event at their brand new Headquarters that opened in March of 2024. It's an amazing space the features a RC showroom, indoor drift track, on-road/off-road carpet track, outdoor oval track, micro and 1/10 scale crawler courses. We even get to see behind the scenes of their 50,000 square foot warehouse where all your orders are picked, packed and shipped off!!
This company was started by a husband and wife duo out of their garage 20 years ago and now supports over 250 employees and distributes 1000's of radio control, bike, and other hobby products.

I was heartbroken when Performance closed its local stores. I had no idea they were still around and better yet owned by an RC company. That is fricken awesome. I live an hour from Amain in Chico. I just thought they were a corporate retailer. Nice to know it's family owned. I think I just found my new favorite hobby shop. I'm an hour from Vanquish and Amain. This could be bad for my bank account.
I'm in Australia but regularly buy from Amain (just opened two boxes from them whilst watching this video!). They have a huge selection, post out quick, the order is always picked correctly and postage cost is quite reasonable to the land down under🤙

@@artstech not really , my last item was an FMS FJ40 and it was cheaper than going to my local hobby shop
@@artstech Unfortunately there can be some duties, but as far as parts availability and everything arriving neatly packed and correct, Amain is a great company to deal with.

Hello RC Girl. I´m new to your channel and I love your content. I had a long brake with RC, but now I´m getting more sparetime and will look into it again. I used to build speedboats from original CrisCraft drawing and fly with nitro powered helicopters, but now I´m more into cars and tanks. I would like to have a 110 scale RC blazer but the price is a little higher than my budget I'm only on disability and can't afford one if I could find one that was in the price range of 200 dollars would be nice. Love your videos young lady

Im surprised they move to crazy California as the state doesn't seem pro for business. However, they r my go to for heli parts...great shipping and communication

Someday I want to go there, it's about 3 hours from me in shasta lake ca. My local hobby shop is a pigstye and has always been that way, I refuse to go waste my money there. But order anything I need from amain instead. Very good service and online support is outstanding!
I buy almost all of my RC heli gear from Amain, and I live in Sydney Australia. You can't beat their great range and service.

Great Video as usual! Loved the tour, you are for sure an asset to the rc community! AMain is definitely my go to for online ordering, as you stated, fastest shipping imo, I really like the layout of their website, as good as it gets customer service.
I used AMain hobbies a lot for my first rc build and they have been great for me and I can't wait til July 27th when I run my first race
Nice to see their backstory, makes me feel a little less apprehensive abut not buying local. My local shop has been around since the 80s, but their new owners and employees don't seem to give a care about their customers, which is a bummer.

They actually do have a warehouse in Charlotte, NC and they mentioned early plans of opening up a similar operation on the east coast!

Excellent video! Thanks RC Girl! Yeah, they have been really great to deal with. One time I placed an order online, and the very next day they posted a video about getting a free t-shirt with qualifying orders starting that day. I commented, "Awe man, I just placed an order yesterday. Heh", and Brett replied saying that's ok and to call them if my order qualified and to tell them he sent me. So I did and I got my t-shirt. It's simple things like that that make for a great customer service. 👍
I love Amain Hobbies and went to their previous store. I'm really tempted to take a road trip from my home in Seattle to Chico, just to checkout the new store and facilities and bring some of my RC vehicles down there. Of course, I'll leave plenty of room to bring goodies back up to Seattle with me.
Hayley, so awesome to see this post. I always wondered what their facility looked like. Back when my neighbor and I were into trucks and crawlers we made a few online shopping sprees on AMain Hobbies’ site. Top Notch company and people.
Loved this video. AMain/Performance are two of my absolute favorite online retailers. Hope to make the journey there someday to visit in person. Great company, good to their employees, and awesome product range.

That's a beautiful facility, wow! And it's super cool it was started by a husband and wife in their garage. Love it.
The reason people like carpet, it's so much easier than off road. Traction on carpet is so much easier on carpet and the jumps/turns/straights don't change during the race.
