Cool, I put on the Mickey Thompson Baja pro, lightbar on the roof and run it on 4S , it’s a blast. You almost need to find different places to go because things that a 1/10 scale struggles with, this thing just rolls over . Different driving experience for sure , have fun with it !! 👍
Welcome to the Hocho club. Your Mom is awesome and it's easy to see the apple didn't fall far from the tree;-) If it hasn't already been stated, here some necessary upgrades to further enhance the performance and enjoyment of this platform. Aluminum front shock towers and hubs to keep that dang panhard mount from flexing, 2) Steady Foams or a printed insert for the tires, 3) overdrive ring and pinion for the front axle, 4) heavy wheels....i know, i know it's already heavy, but that low weight is a big help, 5) an upgraded steering servo will be a must in the near future. Lots of options out there but I chose the Holmes 1/5th scale servo because it puts out more torque than most other offerings and is considerably cheaper. Also pick up at least a 10amp BEC to run that new servo. Have fun and keep the wheel side down.....whenever possible;-) P.s. there are many other tire options out there as well if you want more grip while going vertical.
This thing will make a size queen out of you! It did to me at least 🤣🤣🤣 I got the Jeep the day they were released and couldn't help myself when the Honcho was on sale last Christmas. I finally got my Bambu X1C dialed in so I want to start printing parts for the 6. I just did a really cool cantilever and servo on axle conversion on my Ascend Fusion. The only thing I recommend out of the box at a minimum is a direct power or 8.4V servo, the stock one is a huge let down, and just run it on 4S. Don't forget to set end points or you'll destroy your steering setup, ask me how I know!

I love my SCX6. The only problem I'm facing is : it's hard to find a space to store it in my limited RC space at home, and also as a man in a wheel chair I'm facing difficulties to carry it and handle it. With a little help from my kids, I really enjoy riding it every time and I love it more and more
That beast is a, er, a beast! Great to see your mum having a go. 😎 My elder adopted sister also likes to have a go with the Traxxas Summit, that I never seem to get to drive recently! Her favourite driving style comes from the fact that she's never driven any real vehicles. So she mostly just pulls the trigger, (I've set it in low), and see if anything gets in the way, ⛰ then she reverses. Oh yeah, and she also likes to drive it at the base of an old sand cliff at the beach. And by "at" I mean straight at the bottom of the cliff and up and over, slowly, until the front flips right over and it lands back on it's wheels again, then she reverses and does it again! Just like a big kid, 'sept she's 82. . .😂
These rigs are so much fun, in fact so much fun I’ve bought 2 over the last couple years …..Honcho and the original Jeep,JLU I’ve modified the heck out of the first one (Jeep…hated the body mounting process so I bought a kit to install the hammer rey body) I’m sure you’ll be modifying yours over time…ya can’t help it! 😂

First thing i broke on mine was the panhard bar end at the shock tower. Exocaged has a good setup for it that has worked for me. i just uploaded a short of mine climbing the board of truth...lol
A friend of mine has the Jeep version. Definitely a lot of fun to drive. He upgraded the steering servo to a 100kg servo (I can't remember the brand), but it has some serious steering power!
A guy I know who has one said a steering servo Vitavon billet wheels with Pro-Line Hyrax tyres and better anti gravity inserts and it is light and day different way better, have been buying bits and pieces for when I get one.

Yes still on my wish list, along with a few parts from VITAVON for all things billet alloy, yes the Honcho appeals more than the Jeep although I have just ordered th Rlaarlo RC 1/7th scale MK07 Jeep, I can also see a 3D printer in my stars as I get frustrated with looking for any parts I want, so the Honcho may get gazumped yet again. I would have had one if it had not been back ordered hebce the Rlaarlo purchase which has good reviews on YT plus so much cheaper under £500 here in the UK. I do get frustrated by how many cool parts are 3D print only so only access to the printer required but a lot of us do not have access. Love the tables another wish ilst item hmm.

I'm gonna use the radiolink rc8x with a TBS crossfire antenna and the caddx FPV avatar hd system. I just got a gimbal for the tiny avatar camera system so hopefully it will be a lot more stable video feed than when I first tried it.

The steering servo in my SCX6 lasted three and a half batteries. I upgraded it and I freaking love my SCX6.
What servo did you go with?
@@RCGirl I probably went overboard and installed a Reefs Beast 2000. So far, I’ve had zero issues. I also run the servo and my SCX6 on 4S.

Can't remember were I bought mine, but they screw on the radiator and back bumper -he even included the longer screws that you need.
