Ya, the 90s was all about the artists. I used to buy books just on the artists alone and follow them book to book. I never seen any black and white Platt before your video. To be honest with you, I like it better than the color versions. It is like the colorist can't keep up with his explosive illustrations or something and it seems to take away from (or mask) the detail work Platt does. I wonder how successful a Platt black & white series only would have been at that time? In the 80s we had the explosion of black and white (no color) runs, spearheaded by indies. But more on this color taking away from the illustration. An artist I felt this was also the case for was Tim Vigil, who did Gripps and later more popular with Faust. As a sidenote, I had a buddy who was an amazing airbrush artist. When Platt was at his peak with Profit/Image, my buddy did a full airbrush board that was almost five feet tall of Profit breaking through a window and throwing grenades and opening up with some kind of rifle. He did it in Platt's style too, so there was broken glass shards all over and bullet casings. He brought it to the Phoenix Comicon and he won the prize for best art entry at the con. It was an amazing piece. Anyway, good vid. That black and white Platt is awesome
Marlo Alquiza is one of the only inkers I recall who even tried to keep up with Platt. James Fry was the Moon Knight artist immediately before Platt, and he was really good and distinct imo and I had actually started picking up that series for his art as a kid (the stories are utter garbage)- I wonder what happened to him?

Platt is such an underrated artist…. Unfortunately he lived in the shadow of McFarlane and the Image boys.
