I lived in England from '63 to '66. My father was a US Air Force serviceman stationed at RAF Chicksands. I loved Bedford for its simple, old world feel, which it appears has been lost to some degree with Subways, hair salons, franchise businesses, etc but is still a lovely place overall. Loved walking by the River Ouse and watching the rowing teams go through their practices. Many fond memories of the place. I used to ride the bus to Chicksands, catching the bus in Brickhill where we lived and catching a bus to the base at the farmer's market downtown. Loved the market on Saturdays. There was always a gentleman who had a little auction of various sweets (seconds, malformed jelly babies, that sort of thing) and it was fun bidding on the items that you could get very cheaply. A good sized bag for usually 6 pence or a shilling tops. Always hoped to get back to Bedford but, alas, does not appear to be in the cards. Thanks for the video that helped me relive my time there. Cheers !!

Nice town!
It sure is!
😍😍
😊
Ghost town Bedford. How did you miss all the rough sleepers sleeping in the doorways though. So many shops closed down now
