What should I name the last frog? I can’t get enough of these little frogs, but they won’t stay this small for much longer. They’re following a similar growth rate as Mark, which means they’ll increase exponentially soon. I'm looking forward to the day when they all can live together. Until then SerpaSquad, I hope you all enjoyed this video and have a great weekend!
Yuzu is a citrus fruit and would make a cute name. I love the addition of the bromeliad in the enclosure- they really make the best little frog hiding places.
I work at a Home improvement retailer in Canada and our tropical plants often come from nurseries in Florida. We often get "hitch hiker" critters on our plants. One day I saw something fuzzy flopping on the floor and thought it was a baby bird fallen from it"s nest. But it was a frog covered in dust from crawling under the racks. This was at least half the store length from the garden centre. I rescued the little guy and put him in a margarine container with a bit of water. I could almost hear his sigh of relief when he touched the water. I took him home and set him up in a similar open front terrarium although at the time I wasn't sure what kind of frog he was. He appeared to be a kind of tree frog with big eyes and pads on his toes, but didn't match any of our local frogs. I checked one of my amphibian guides and determined he most resembled a Cuban Tree Frog and then saw that their range was obviously, Cuba, but also south Florida and particularly found in garden centres and nurseries. Had him for a number of years and was always amazed at his ability to change both the colour and texture of his skin to camouflage with whatever background he was on. Whenever I came home and opened our front door it would make a creaking sound which would set him off into a chorus of croaks lol! Miss that guy!
Every video like this reminds me of how skilled Tanner is, with such simple materials he created a beautiful vivarium. Its like watching Bob Ross paintings come to life as he works.
It's crazy how much influence you had on my life. Because of you I learned so much about plants and stuff like this. I found out really fast, that it's not about the animals for me. I love creating stuff with plants and waterstuff an of course landscaping. I'm here for a few years now and it's time to say thank you. You opened the door for my most loved hobby ever. Thank you man. Oh and if I EVER get rich, I will definetly hire you (if possible) to build an amazing Paludarium for and with me. 😍
This project sounds fascinating! 🐸 How do you plan to replicate the jungle oasis environment? What specific features will you include for the tree frogs? I can’t wait to see how the colony thrives in this setup
I miss my sticky 😭 he came from petsmart so I unfortunately only had him for about a year. This is making me want frogs again 😭 tree frogs are just so freaking adorable. RIP Sticky the frog
I may have a name idea for you - Yuzu - along with a short story: 4 years ago, I found a small fowler's toad outside that was injured; the skin on his right arm was torn, revealing the muscular tissue beneath it. It looked as if he was attacked by a bird or a raccoon. I took this little guy in and named him Kiwi. For 2 weeks he was too scared to eat, until he gathered up his courage. Since then, he became one of the friendliest toads I have ever seen. He enjoyed being held, constantly begged for attention, and ate a variety of foods from my fingers or tongs. Over the years I had upgraded his enclosure; starting from a quaint little 12x12x12" bioactive vivarium with nothing but bark and moss. He eventually moved to a 12x12x18 with plants, an 18x18x24 (which can be seen on my channel), and finally, a few months ago, his final home; a 24x18x18 with a huge variety of plants, moss, and leaf litter, a large "pond", and a cleanup crew consisting of red wiggler worms, 2 species of springtails (1 uninvited native), detritus mites, and isopods, along with 2 girlfriends. He thrived in his enclosure until 3 weeks ago, when his health started going downhill. He was old for a fowler's toad (4 years, 4 months to be specific - for reference, the oldest fowler's toad in captivity was 2 years and 5 months.) A few days ago, it was Kiwi's time...I will forever miss the way that he stalked me, his silly noises, and the way he begged for attention by following me around the pet room. I will never be the same without you, Kiwi. Thank you for making my last 4 years tolerable. My name idea for your unnamed frog is the name of Kiwi's first girlfriend; Yuzu. She started off scared, as many toads do, but her personality has blossomed. She's growing into a beautiful girl, a ferocious eater, and begs for attention, following me around the room, just like how Kiwi did. Please note that you don't have to name your tree frog Yuzu, but it would make my day. It fits into your exotic fruit theme as well, like it did mine, but don't feel pressured by me to do so. Thank you for your amazing, calming, and inspirational videos that I've enjoyed over the past 7 years. I will forever be a fan of your art.
Toads are incredible animals and typically habituate well to human care, so I'm not surprised. It's cool that you were able to help it and form a bond over that time, though, and I'm sorry for your loss. Yuzu seems to be a popular suggestion, so I'm adding it to the poll on a community post.
Idk why but the name Apple came to mind. Like a green apple. So cute! Love the back story and all the video edits. You show your gift for making a mini movie (documentary) as well as your gift for creating ecosystems. Your love for frogs shines too. This is such a wonderful video to watch and help me stop scrolling through all the destruction from Helene. I don’t want to stop praying for those who lost everything but I think I need a break from it. Sadly they can’t take a break. God be with them. 🙏🏻 Thank you for this reminder of peaceful times and the way things should be.
Hey @SerpaDesign, I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your videos! I really appreciate the fact that you keep your content clean and don't add movie clips or other stuff like that. Every time I watch your videos, it inspires me to build a terrarium, but when I look at the prices...... Thank you for all your hard work! Keep it up! Oh, and by the way, you should name the frog Cherry!
Honeydew! Perfect cute name for a sweet little female frog with a patterned cream and green back with vibrant light green underneath. Or Cherimoya, aka custard apple. Light but vibrant green skin with soft ivory or cream colored flesh.
I love the way you create videos. Your main concern is always animals and how to provide for them, but you seem to find a way to give us some life advice and general motivation in each episode. I love and appreciate the effort you put in!
Hey, I'm wondering if you could make an ecosystem but focusing on the plants more than the animals. Getting exotic, strange rare plants to make it look really jazzy? Love the videos by the way.
Hi! I just built my first terrarium this morning. I have been watching your channel for the past three weeks and I have learned a lot! I wish I had your knowledge and your set up. I’m extremely envious but it’s very beautiful! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
i named my little gargoyle gecko lady kiwi, and whenever she's gravid i call her papaya so it's such a joy to see the two names of my beloved girl applied to SUCH vivacious little froggies... i defo second the comment suggestions of lychee!
I’m loving the fruit name theme for the babies!! The little one with no name yet seems so observant and sweet. Maybe…”Sugar”? Also loving this setup!! What a neat way to reflect on the past, and bring new life for your critters. ✨
Such an awesome video Tanner! I feel like all the hard work over the years has come together so you can make videos like this, and I always appreciate how you keep materials to salvage and reuse--you're doing it the way it's meant to be done!
I’m so envious of your workshop graveyard! I just spent the other day putting all my things into baskets and compiling the things I have. I’ve always been super inspired by your setups - not just those for animals but your behind the scenes organization. I hope one day I can be as organized!
I've been following you for a while now. I highly appreciate the amount of respect and passion which you put into your creations. It's obviously stunning and inspiring. Thank you for your content.
i have been falling asleep to your 2 hour+ hardscape tutorial video for so long, will you ever make something in that style again? your longer asmr video's are the best! love the new editing style on this video btw :)
They're all so adorable; it's incredible that cutie hasn't already been given a name! Some suggestions: Satsuma, Lychee, Mangosteen, Pomelo, Plum, and Lemon
Haha! Only a minute and 50 in but I've been loving the humor in the episode. The shots of you knocking all that stuff from the top shelf onto you and choking on the dust mid sentence genuinely gave me a good chuckle! Keep it up!
absolutely love your illustrations of context. on top of your already insanely unreal enclosure builds. your channel is very entertaining. checks all boxes for me. thanks for the inspiration as always Tanner!
Huge fan! Already love what you do. But this video with a pinch of humour here and there ties the whole thing together very nicely. Hope to see more of it in the future. Keep up the amazing work man. Kudos to your creativity.
What a great video! Your care for these wee creatures is always inspiring. These frogs are so cool & adorable. Name suggestion: Beauty Berry (BB for short)??? Thank you for the excellent content Tanner!!!
I wanna see more frogs, Tanner! My hubs and I ❤️ the poison dart frogs at the reptile store. Once I'm sure I can set up and maintain the right conditions I hope we'll get a couple.
Hey just an idea I had: put a little of this fuzzy hemp thread (sorry I don't know what's it called in english) around the bolts thread, I'd think that would look awesome and fit the whole theme. Thanks for making this great content, you're one my absolute top TH-camrs that I really look forward to, in whatever pace that might be to be good for you 😊

Please name one Kermit. Or you can stick to the fruit theme (e.g. Muscat, Yuzu, Kiwi, Apricot or Tomato)
Eggplant
Fogo
Peach or banana
Pineapple, to go with the other tropical fruits
Maybe Lychee as a name. I love your new editing touches.
I second Lychee!
Was just gonna say lychee 😊
Lychee!
Lychee would be great considering her color
Lychee matches the others so well
Yuzu is a citrus fruit and would make a cute name. I love the addition of the bromeliad in the enclosure- they really make the best little frog hiding places.
Yuzu is nice❤
i second yuzu
I was gonna write Yuzu, then I saw this comment

he could change both the colour and texture of his skin? so cool
Please call her Melon! Such an adorable frogger! 🐸
Edit: Pls vote on the community post!!
yeessss great name
was thinking the same thing! :)
My idea was Honeydew, so we think alike! Perfect for a sweet little female froggy. 😊
Yes, Melon is perfect.
I like melon a lot too❤ good choice
Persimmon! little round and yellow, just like her!
And she could be "Percy" for short.
Clementine would be super cute for her name. She's adorable!
Lychee would be a very fitting name.
It’s awesome to see how much more comfortable you’ve become over the years. not just behind the camera but with your editing.
Every video like this reminds me of how skilled Tanner is, with such simple materials he created a beautiful vivarium. Its like watching Bob Ross paintings come to life as he works.
That is so funny, for some reason I had also "Bob Ross" coming to my mind while watching 😂.
Hes definitely the Bob Ross of the reptile/aquarium/terrarium community ❤
lol the Jimmy Neutron brain blast was such a cool reference!
I didn't see it coming, that was a gem
Pitaya! It’s another name for dragonfruit. Tropical, exotic and easy to pronounce!

The way you were narrating the little frogs at the end made me tear up for some reason. So precious.
GUAVA. Thank you Tanner, EXCELLENT as always ! 🌺💚🙃
YES. He also needs to get two more and name them orange and pinapple. Then you have the POG frogs.
wait srry not pinapple, Pog jucie is made with passion fruit

Froggy name suggestions: Kumquat, Cantaloupe, Melon (saw that in the comments as well haha),Apricot. I personally love Kumquat
I like kumquat. It makes the 5yo in my giggle.
@@evalyer it is such a fun word to say! That is why it's my favorite of the bunch :D

What a sweet story, and I love the name Yuzu!

Paw Paw! USA's largest native fruit!
Heck yeah!
Call the new one "Cherimoya"...it's a delicious Caribbean fruit. Good story!
Yes! Cherimoya is perfect: it's tropical, it's sweet, and it's tree-frog green.
I agree!
Love to see your sense of humor coming out in the edits

Passion! Like Passion fruit
I love the way you create videos. Your main concern is always animals and how to provide for them, but you seem to find a way to give us some life advice and general motivation in each episode. I love and appreciate the effort you put in!
For the tropical fruit theme, you could name the last frog Lychee!
I love your editing style. These videos are both peaceful, and comedic.
Hey, I'm wondering if you could make an ecosystem but focusing on the plants more than the animals. Getting exotic, strange rare plants to make it look really jazzy? Love the videos by the way.

A rare plant terrarium or riparium, or an orchidarium would be so cool! I love the animals but I don’t keep any and only do terrariums.
