If you put a tire valve you put pressure air, you increase buoyancy and it supports more weight Change the metal straps by silk or non-metallic safety increases durability in water
"Temper" the atmosphere inside the barrels by uncapping them at colder temperatures then re-install the caps. This will keep the barrels from collapsing in hot temps. Question: how in the world would a tire pressure valve be installed? Maybe there already are barrels with valve attachments.
I’m hoping to build one for myself and some friends-maybe a bit longer though (I’m thinking 4 drums per side). What motor would you recommend using for max 5 people?
it's a Minn Kota trolling motor, a powerdrive by the looks of it on the video. max thrust of 55 on 12V, or the bigger one which is max thrust of 70 on 24V. good for boats up to 21'
This os awesome. Nice build. WAYYYYY too much weight for a take in and out of water set up. But to dock in the water its cool. I'd like to try xps foam and epoxy glass for platform? Lighter and more waterproof...
CARA ... SE VAI USAR MOTOR , DEVERIA TER COLOCADO UM CONE NO TOPO DOS GALÕES, O QUE VOCÊ FEZ NÃO É NENHUMA NOVIDADE, JA FIZEMOS ISSO NOS ANOS 70, USANDO TAMBORES DE AÇO. SE TEM QUE SE LOCOMOVER TEM QUE USAR CONE NO TOPO.
cut a window in the top of the barrel allowing ballast and live well to be utilized those straps don't look strong enough with a ''window cut out you could bolt the barrels onto a treated lumber frame
Yeah you can buy a new cheap 3-4 hp. 2stroke for under $200.00 on ebay and a small jon and not hassle with the legality. I believe anything motorized needs state stickers.

0:22 “Do it yourself...” With three other guys. 😆 (Nice Build!)
Hi - could you tell me the size & details of the little motor please, so I know exactly what to buy, thank you :) ?

Plastic barrels should be filled with foam but if you are on a private lake r pond just go with no foam. Nice to have a sun shade.
Approx how did it take you to finish from the start.
What size motor is used to run one of these builds
2:11 Is he giving the barrel CPR?
Muito legal
YES 😂😂😂

Did you use anything to seal up those white threaded caps? I have a few of those, but they all seem to leak like crazy.
Shnarkle VonBarkle I use water proof sealer on the threads no leaks.
Love it....good job
Absolutely brilliant x
Most people also trim the plywood to fit the space, not ClarkNova, they stomp on it.
Love this creativity!!!! Bad ass.
Where do you go to buy the 55 gal drums
Some Lowe's or home Depot's have them just depends on where you go.

This is my summer project!
All he needs to add is a shelter cover for rain
Had one of these with high dive and lower dive back in 70wr used metal barrels
On a non drinking day for me only. Love the build man.
hahahahahh
The boat is a cool way to go and watch the sun set
What was the point of painting pressure treated lumber?
Style and it actually last longer, don’t forget it’s going to get rained on.
sooo cool!
That is fantastic!
How did you attach motor
Hey what are the dimensions of this party barge bc I was gonna make mine 10x10
It's obvious 8x12
That is awesome I wish I had some place to build some shit
Those are well built..
Muito top.👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Better throw a couple of life jackets and oars on to make it legal. lol
Depends on where you are.
Your video would have been much better with out that dang annoying music and you actually telling folks how you put it together.
Perfect! Congrats...

Great, but at us in Russia soon, probably it will forbid the waters to come!

The fact that it is sealed, is what makes it buoyant. Unsealing them would render the entire project useless.
The question is? Is it legal to do this? If so I am so down
Don't waste your time. Get a boat and motor and do it the big boy way.
whip master totally agreed the problem is that's like $2000 - $5000 we are talking about.

whip master good luck getting a boat motor that runs reliably for under $200 😆
It's legal u just need to get a inspection if more than 5hp
I know this guy in person
Aluminum is better, zero corrosion lighter and stronger
But very expensive.

I think that's a raft not a pontoon

Couldn't watch it for the stupid music!!!!!
You stole that idea from chud 327
Plywood is too tight if you have to force it in place
Wont last too long.........post picks in couple of years....not too sturdy
Yes it will. Fun Fact: I actually know this guy and it is still lasting.
