My wife and I did a lantern tour of that graveyard a few years ago. It was amazing experience hearing about the past residents of the community and the history of the town and fort Anne
That looks like a great time. I will make sure to do one next time I stay in Annapolis Royal. Wayne Melanson does a great job explaining the history of the area and is really passionate about his work and it shows. I would like to go back and do a more in-depth video about the history of the area.
Hey Mike. Really enjoying your videos. You can tell you put alot of work and research into them. Especially like your Nova Scotia videos as I'm a Nova Scotian lol. An area you might be interested in visiting in the future is the Lahave Islands by Bridgewater on the south shore. Beautiful little area and the beach there is the only beach in Nova Scotia you can drive your vehicle right on the sand. They also have this historic 200 year old building that is now a bakery/cafe and book shop. We took a day trip there last summer and really enjoyed it. Hope you come back to N.S. again as your videos reflect the natural beauty and friendliness of the province.
Thanks Mike! I really appreciate your support. I will definitely be coming back to Nova Scotia and hopefully will be covering somemore interesting places and history. Thanks for the recommendations.
the intruduction of apple trees in nb and ns is because my 6th great grandfather, an irish immigrant who came here around the early 1600s, those are his first trees
The biggest problem and greatest cost was the removal of all the silt buildup with time on the upriver side of the dam. This is not a cost that you have with a standard dam on a river! Anyways, it was built as a test facility for exactly this reason; to evaluate all the costs of operating a tidal power plant before building them on other rivers in NS & NB. Suffice it to say that it is not likely that any others will be built.
A beautiful overview of my adopted home area.
