Thanks Trevor/Anna for this nice video! Don't listen to the ones telling you to use your hands for the pizza, I never do it, even for burgers, I don't like the mess. I lived for sometime in Montréal, QUE and from your video, I would say that NS though much smaller, looks really interesting. Being from Alexandria and being a Mediterranean, I think coastal areas in NS would be more familiar to me than inland locations in Canada. Next time will make sure to visit the Maritimes. Thanks once again!
Nice post guys - very delightful :) I did not know that Annapolis Royal was the oldest town in Canada. Enjoy the weather because we are getting snow here in Calgary. Keep safe!
Although I am a few months late in seeing this, I am happy that you are showcasing N.S. We live in such a beautiful Province and Wolfville is minutes from us! There is so much to see and enjoy here in this awesome Maritime community! Thanks for sharing it with the world! Stay well and safe travels! 😘
I’ve been watching you guys for a couple years and knew you were Canadian but had no idea until the pandemic that you were from Halifax. I was so excited. Now I watch today and find out that you are from Annapolis Royal and I am even more excited!!! I live in Halifax and am from Annapolis. ❤️❤️. Love your videos, can’t wait until we can all travel again! Stay safe
If you ever make it down here to NYC? May I suggest a visit up to The Bronx? Lots to see from the shores of the HUDSON River to the banks of the Bronx River. Yes, Yankee Stadium of course but also the WOODLAWN CEMETERY up near the border with Westchester County (City of Yonkers). Many famous and historical figures and whole families buried or entombed there. Worth taking a guided tour.
Great video, I learned a lot. Usually when I see travel videos in Canada they are usually all in BC or in the Toronto area. Thanks for sharing something different. Nova Scotia looks beautiful!
Anna, in a previous video I commented how, like you, I'm not a big fan of seafood (wish I was.) Now I found another thing we have in common. I have a weakness for buying jewelry as a souvenir of my travels, too. I got some great amber jewelry when I was in Poland! Love your sea glass earrings!
I've been working in tourism here in Nova Scotia for almost 20 years. The candlelight graveyard tour at Fort Anne is one of the coolest things I've done here. I highly recommend it.
what a charming place! that's what makes you guys so special; your historical facts meshed together with personal stories just liven up the videos! Although, I would have loved to see Anna rolling down the hills again, you know, to relive a part of her childhood...but I understand why she did not! LOL...thanks for sharing, looking forward to your next adventure!!
Only recently realized those hills surrounding the fort would had to have done all by hand. This was way before the invention of any power excavators. Must have taken thousands and thousands of man- hours to construct.
Loving the series...more beautiful scenery.... Love the old buildings. What a great pizza and vineyard. The accommodation is gorgeous. Love the verandah
Perusing one more video tonight Anna and Trevor. After touring my first home earlier today in Cape Breton, I checked out your video in Annapolis Valley, where I’ve lived for past 47 years. I really lucked out didn’t I? I’ve lived my life in what I consider the two best valleys in the gorgeous province of Nova Scotia. Pretty amazing! I love to travel and see new places, meet new people and see how they live their life, but I can always come back to this province that I am so blessed to call home! Loving your videos about the province I call home. So often we maritimers know we live in this amazing place but until the past two years or so, we have downplayed our home provinces because we were considered kind of just humble country cousins of our bigger provinces. It seems we have come into our own lately and have begun to claim our own claim to fame. We don’t often toot our own horn, but”We are Amazing” and thanks for doing such a great job showing off to us and the rest of the world, how fantastic our Atlantic province is!
Loved seeing beautiful Nova Scotia! I used to live across from Cape Breton Island, the Canso Causeway in a little town called Mulgrave. We moved there from England when my Father got a job as an Engineer there. 🙂❤️
Loving that you've got chapters for reference points... ☺ 15:00 Some of the best beer in Belgium is made by monks in Westmalle Abbey... ♥ (Brouwerij der Trappisten van Westmalle) ♥
Good to know you like them Psych. I'm not sure how many people use them or know about them so I've been only adding them in every now and then. I'll try to continue to do so 😃 - Trevor
Thanks for the video and tour of the quaint town. Have you been to England? We have many very old graveyards here; a lot of them were old when we landed in Canada and breweries in churches aplenty. Stay safe.
New subscriber. I joined while watching your Lima Peru videos. Trying to convince my wife to visit South American places and maybe make it a habit in our golden years.
Brewery in a church?... YES! There was one up in DUTCHESS COUNTY, NY. outside of Village of Rhinebeck on Rt.#9? It WAS interesting. A way to be introduced to some new "spirits"! LOL
I’m enjoying the Nova Scotia series. I knew nothing of this area before. I can’t wait for our travel restrictions to be lifted so I can see it for myself! Unrelated question...Anna where did you get the crossbody purse you are wearing? I have been looking for one just like it. Thanks!
Sadly that purse recently broke 😅 it was just from a cheap store in Halifax. I actually think it broke after we finished filming this video haha - Anna
OK, love, love this video. Hopefully next Summer when it's so hot here in Mérida, we can make it up your way and experience it all for ourselves 😁. But I have a huge question 😄 Will people look at me funny if I eat that deliciously looking pizza with my hands? Because I want to eat a bigger bite and get a the goodness 😋😋😋
Could y'all think about doing a video on native Americans . And some historic sites in Canada. I think some of your viewers would like that also.. Thanks for your videos.xx
Thats true, its hard to get out of our colonist mindset sometimes. The Mi'kmaq were definately here first. I'm on the Glooscap trail and have been reading up on Glooscap.
Never tried that kind of pizza before it looks delicious. So Anna estimate how many population you think they have in Nova Scotia? It seem quiet but beautiful - a brewery inside the church interesting . I would love to see the place.
We so wish adding in subtitles was easier. We'd have to hire someone to do that unfortunately. There is auto-generated subtitles through TH-cam, I'm just not sure how good they are - Trevor
I am just loving these Nova Scotia videos! It is just so gorgeous there. I imagine it must be getting cooler there, as it sure is Fall here in Ohio. Quite a difference from El Nido, right? I enjoyed the brewery in the old church. I grew up in Cincinnati, and they made an abandoned church into a brewery there also (some nice photos in this Trip Advisor article: www.tripadvisor.com/LocationPhotoDirectLink-g60993-d8274206-i403042952-Taft_s_Ale_House-Cincinnati_Ohio.html ). It's becoming, unfortunately, a real problem as to what to do with old churches not being used for their original purpose anymore. I am glad to see some of them are being repurposed! And I LOVE the sea glass earrings! I would have bought some things there too! You have a beautiful hometown!
Excellent video. The British captured Acadia for the last time in 1710 and the colony was ceded by France in 1713 under the Treaty of Utrecht. Quebec City was settled in 1608, so it is older than Annapolis Royal, which was settled by the Scots in 1629 and occupied by the French after France regained the colony in 1632.

@@turrnerjohn32 True. On the expedition that established Port Royal (Habitation site), Champlain worked for Pierre Dugua, Sieur de Mons as his cartographer.
No, that's not true . The reason the west coast was settled 1st is because they Landed on an island in the Bay of Fundy near Digby , they almost died there ! because they stayed on the island all winter in the cold , starving to death, in the spring they met the native people who showed them the best land to live on , which is on the west side, because it is protected from the wind and cold by the Annapolis hill range .

The valley is the best to visit in summer especially the vineyards🍷
Love the town of Annapolis Royal. When my wife and I lived in Bedford NS we use to visit this gem of a place numerous times.
We don’t visit it nearly enough. Such a great town! - Trevor
