Did you equip the dual hand xbows just for this fight? If so, that is so tactical. I have *never* had my Grym fight go that smooth. The Mephits always come for me! This was sweet as hell. Also.. Blink, huh. I always have scrolls of it leading into late game but never cast it. Really cool to see you use it.
I did do that yes! I don't have proficiency with them but it doesn't matter too much here imo. I've gotten a new love for blink! It is very random but so very cool and useful when it works in our favor. Glad to hear that you enjoyed it :)
He came as Grym but left very slim 😁. Very smooth fight - and Connor has really grown into his role as bait. 🧟♂. Never used Blink, to be honest, so it was interesting to watch how it works. ☑ I really hope you make it into Act III. I personally think that Act III is in some ways easier than I or II.
Haha 🤣 I love Connor, such a great asset to a solo run. Didn’t wanna use him last run since I used him extensively in my paladin/wizard run before that. I’m trying to explore spells that I don’t use much a bit more now when there’s a bit more forgiving to waste a turn too. Lower levels are just so harsh to mess up on. So easy to die. As you say act 3 in in a sense more easy and I agree
That was so smooth. Oh so the Mephrits can attack the guardian, I always thought they were just after you. Good to know. No choice but to use the hammer here, otherwise it's game over. I can't imagine people trying to do solo honor mode and try to kill that thing without the hammer. Probably not. And yeah, congrats on level 6! That's how I got it too, I literally fought it, got level 6, then went to rescue Nere, was easy, oh and also you can ally yourself with half the duergars which would make the fight smoother, doesn't count if you can't add the people in your party after. ;) Given all the undead minions and Shovel you have for solo, the duergars can be a loophole, since they are temporary allies for literally 1 fight. Unless you count them?
@@FriendlyLich You tell me. Sometimes it's easier sometimes not, like yesterday I fought Balthazar for the Nightsong, that went smoothly, made Shadowheart a Dark Justiciar, then I see in my journal that I didn't get Ethel's help (I actually got her boon for 1 point in Charisma but I forgot about it so I reload before the fight like an idiot), and then I try twice this morning, first time I reload because one giant undead pushed Lae'Zel and someone else to death over the ledge (not sure if it was me, Shadowheart or Astarion), second time I Balthazar gets a Cloud Kill on my party, but in the first fight of yesterday Lae'Zel killed him too fast for him to do anything, so I'll have to retry tonight after work. So that's annoying. XD So yeah, go get the duergars to help you. Also funny thing is that yesterday I freed the tieflings and Wulbren, cashed in all the rewards like potent robe and brilliant retort, then let Isobel leave with that one corrupted Harper with her knowing, then played dumb in front of Jaheira and she believed me and joined my camp, despite me being responsible for the inn's and her harpers' doom, but she doesn't know that. Muhahahaha! Evil run! And seriously I get away with it all. And getting away with killing the Nightsong after too, then going to kill Ketheric and the Shadow Curse is lifted, yeah I rescued Thaniel and Oliver, because fuck that cursed land, you know? But everyone can die, except my party. Wyll is next to die though, need to send him down with Mizora, again evil run. XD
I’m probably going to go 12 wizard but I’m not super sure just yet. Mainly since I want to see if I can finish the game with it 😅. Grabbing ASI at lev 8, not sure about 12 yet
That went very well. :) I knew I could shoot the lever but I didn't know I could shoot the valve, too. Blink seems like an okay help to get the mephits to target Grym. And it doesn't have the risk of the fight ending like if you're invisible and Grym kills all the mephits does?

That truly was a Grym death...
That was the smoothest grym kill.. well done 💪
Thank you! :)
@@FriendlyLich one would think you tried it before 😂
@@Drakkman1978 Hah yes I do have a few kills on Grym :). A lot that looks very much worse than this too hehe
when I saw "a grym experience" in the thumbnail i got a lil scared haha, but that was a super smooth fight
Got to keep the audience on their toes! :)

Thanks! I felt that this went a lot better than last time. I don’t mind temporary allies as long as it’s game over if my necromancer gets killed :)

Fantastic fight as always, I somehow imagined the Grymfight to be harder on honor mode
Thanks! I mean it sort of is, my previous attempts are a lot worse than this 😅
oh my god you made that look so easy. this boss is a nightmare for me even after having extensive playthrough experience and 4 party members.
Thank you 🙏🏻. I think in a way that this boss is easier solo since it is easier to predict what it will do next.
What is your plan with this build, always wanted to try out necromancer but cant figure out a good build for it

i'm actually having a hard time trying to guess what puns you'll use for act 2 bosses
I am sure that the fight in the Tavern will be a Blast, Bar none!
@@The_Real_Fomsie Oh wow. 10/10
I'll do my very best!
To be fair, there is a Thorm in our side by the end of Act 2

Exactly my thought about blink, I'm very happy with how that turned out for this fight. :)
Thumbnail inspired by JackPGM?
Sorry I'm not sure what that is
I don't know... these fights just aren't the same without Cloud of Daggers ;)
Haha! That would be a feat of strength :D
So grym just needs to be close to the hammer for it to hit? I always thought it needed to be right on the target.
It is definitely a bit wider than just the hammer, but it also look a bit weird since Grym's hitbox is a bit bigger than what you might think
Wait, the mephits attack the Grym?!
They will yes, if they can't find you. Like if you blink or turn invisible. ;>
