Thanks for this awesome review guys. We are from Switzerland though. Small country in the center of Europe with a lots of mountain. Come check it out ;-) And yes, as some already stated the weight of the Pass 2.0 is a little heavier. But this is only because we made it safer with more density in the EPS. Awesome riding through NYC. Love it!
My Swedish friends tell me a Lot of people get mixed up between Switzerland and Sweden lol.. they are so different and I don't understand why but it's funny it happens lol 😂
I'm surprised you would increase the EPS density. Doesn't that make minor concussions a bit more likely? Were there crashes where the original foam wasn't enough? There's some really good research now on MIPS that has totally persuaded me it's important to have, for all riders. I'm really hoping you add it (or something similar) so us safety nerds can feel good about getting one. And you're so close to officially supporting electric vehicles, like the e-skate boards in this review. I know the downhill certification is really similar to the Dutch e-bike certification. You've gotta be really close to meeting that standard if you don't already. I love the design of these and they're so close to being the perfect medium-speed personal electric vehicle helmet. Just a couple of minor tweaks away
Great new helmets but I got to say... the last few minutes of the video were insane! The music, the riding, the recording and editing all on point! 10/10
I hit a car at 42 mph on my EUC whilst wearing a TSG pass. The helmet saved my life. Definitely don’t agree with all the hate that you see this helmet getting online. Still use one today.
@@michaellmcentire glad to hear it my friend.. i have lots of pev friends that crashed with there tsg pass.. still zero serious head injuries.. its like the haters are jealous of the nice design and dont want to pay the $ because its not the “specs” they like.
I’ve fallen at least 4 times on my head using the tsg pass pro. I hate falling but I feel like I made the right choice using this as my esk8 helmet. No crazy damage to the helmet just scrapes. I don’t really fall anymore but this helmet really helped me during my learning curve in keeping my head safe. Thinking of buying the predator dh6 or the tsg pass 2.0 as my second helmet. This was a very solid review and I enjoyed the riding scenes in the end 🤙😄
*Nice to see an early review so people can decide whether they want to get the new one,* personally considerin the Khaki/Olive 2.0, my Neon 1.0 is great though. 🤙🏽⚡️🤟🏽 So glad they stuck with D-ring, tried, tested and true, not everyone likes Fidlock. D-ring fits way better for many of us. Bags are great for wipin the visor down with the inside of the bag, outside of bag for wipin the coloured parts. Nice to see good ol' Jeffrey. You should do this more, have other local riders on. Overall sillhoutte looks pretty much the same/very similar. Would be cool to see some side by sides with 1.0.
Definetely collaborated for this to have a video out online for those customers/riders that are on the edge about the helmet or unsure of the changes etc so we highlighted them so there is more info out! As for the fidlock it’s just a personal choice for me been testing it for 2 years now and it’s been solid so very confident in it! But I will say the stock d-rings loop they provide it with is the best tried and true solution for sure
@@Mattneedswheels Depends on which safety standards you side with. I try to take an objective stance, it's different and you can choose 1.0 if you prefer it, choice is great.
So I've commented previously regarding the strength of these helmets and how they don't really hold up to hard crashes, but that all depends on what you ride and how you crash. I definitely do not recommend these for motorcycle riding because you're up pretty high and if you go over the top and land on your head, that's a pretty high chance that these helmets won't hold up against that impact. For eskating, I think it's fine because you're pretty low and usually when you fall off an eskate, it's mostly sliding and you're not shot up into the air and come back straight down and hitting the ground. Of course, it is still risky without MIPS certification because it's still very possible to crash in such a way that creates twists on impact, which means you're going to injure your neck when the helmet takes the impact and twists your head. The other weak point on these helmets is the chin area. There's practically zero protection there against impact. Do I have a TSG Pass? Yes, I do for eskating because the wide field of vision and how light it is is a huge plus, but I go into this knowing the risks so I'm aware and will try to fall in such a way that mitigates damage to my head, but of course, if something happens where I don't see it coming then who knows.
For the cost, this is not a good level of protection, it just looks cool and that's it. The large visor (heavy polycarbonate) and ABS shell are major weak points
Until they decide to develop a Pinlock visor this helmet is basically useless because it fogs up so bad! I love mine but I cant wear it below 55°, I don't understand why they won't work with Pinlock! It's such an awesome helmet, lightweight and better visibility than any other helmet I've ever worn. Unfortunate.
Love the mint colour. Just as a side note, i have the new TSG 2.0 and my Pass Pro. Both in medium and medium on version 2.0 is tighter so will be swapping for a large version and as for the weight, it is heavier than the pass pro at just over 1.2kgs compared to my pass pro at 985g
I know 2.0 comes in 2 shell sizes, small shell XS-M and large shell L-XXL. What is the difference in shell size between Pass Pro (one shell size) and 2.0 L size (large shell of 2.0)?
@@JefferyPeralta There are a few videos reviewing the TSG pass helmets. It's better to see the reviews since they do flex tests and other things in those videos. Overall, it's just pretty weak materials that wouldn't protect you from a hard crash. They are also not rated for rotational impact either, meaning that your head can whip and bounce off things and you end up injuring your neck pretty badly.
Nice review bro. Thanx. Just small disappointment that they moved to ABS shell and stay with certifications on the same level. Compared to other same certified ABS helmet, You pay just for fancy factor:) 🤘🛹
damn...that gold one got me sold! nice review! No quick release/snap on is a big missed opportunity though. I hate fumbling the straps with my gloves on. also questions: is the XL and XXL using the same shell? and how does size fit as compared to the pro?
if ppl think u cant get a concussion from a accident even with anyyy helmet, they shouldnt be riding. i have a buddy i went to school with, a few years ago he had a minor motorcycle accident and had a brain bleed. needed a induced comma . He had all the high end/high priced safety equipment including a AGV pista helmet. and he was only doing 30mph. tsg pass is great for what we do cuz we arent on a 300-600lbs motorcycle. with our riden we need FULL field of vision cuz we ride 80mm to 175mm tires: so we need to see everything in the road. with a motorcycle, ur field of vision doesnt need to be THAT much cuz of the motorycles big tires and dampening system. u can hit a pothole in the road at 80-100mph and ull be fine. if we hit a pothole at 20mph, we can go flying. more field of vision = less “safety specs” . im 100% ok with that cuz if my field of vision is taken away from me, my safety, fun, and confidence is gone. it also is lighter weight than most full face helmets. do u know anyone in the pev with a severe head injury? a concussion doesnt count. because i dont. so i find the safety to be fine. especially since most downhill riders go faster than us and crash daily

Tsg pass and pass pro did have foam in the front of the helmet and does change cheek and back of head padding.
