    Just can't stand the sound of CVT gearboxes, anyways this TNGA platform really does wonders for comfort and handling. Time for the other Japanese makes to offer something similar. Although the car looks a little lethargic, for normal city drive it will be sufficient. Another good review sir, keep it up! 😊👍

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

  • @Seramics
    @Seramics 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    This is fantastically done by YS. I didn't know Corolla can do that. This seems almost as good n direct as Mazda 3. YS really bring out the car potential.
    One question, does this TNGA Corolla handles better than a VW Passat? Not outright power, just handling aspect. I saw both video and it seems to go faster on this Corolla than the 2020 Passat. And no video on driving about 2019 Passat.

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      The Passat is a larger car than the Corolla, in terms of total time to do the climb, I would say the Passat is probably faster around the corners and would have a highr top speed. The Corolla is very agile, and can potentislly go just as fast, but does not have the torque up the hill. Going down, it would probably be just as fast, but would lose out on the straights. They are two very different cars, and righly the Passat should be compared to Camry.

    You sir, can make driving an under-powered car seems fun. Even though u drove fast, i can see that u were behaved, unlike any other reviewers in Malaysia, driving at the same place. I can felt their rudeness.
    BTW sir, u have to try to put your microphone at the same location in each review, and at the same volume/settings too. Looks like Civic's CVT is more whiny (whinier?) than the Corolla. And I can feel (hear?) the paddle shift in this Corolla is a little faster to respond than the Civic.

When the temperature cools down again, then everything goes back to normal. The system will never allow the temp to go higher than allowed, so you dont ha e to worry.

    Uncle YS, Ride handling comparing this car with Arteon. which one is better?

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Arteon is a D segment, and is of course more luxurious amd comfortable. Ride in the Corolla is good but remember it is C segment. The Corolla also handles well, but it probably needs a bigger wheel and better tyres if it wants to match the Arteon. Best not to compare the two.

    How's the handling of this Corolla compared to the Jetta? And Corolla vs the 1 generation older Mazda3(multilink suspension)? Yeah the double wishbone setup opens up a lot of setup possibilities for camber progressions on suspension bound... Which allows Toyota to setup a sweet spot which is awesome for daily driving hence I wanted to know the comparison mentioned earlier. Thank you uncle. Awesome drive as always!

    • @YSKhongDriving

      We did another vodep that explains why the tnga helps to improve handling without the need for harsh suspension. This set up allows for a more practical daily drive vehicle.

    Hi uncle, comparing this car with the XV GT that you recently reviewed, how different are these 2 cars in term of comfort, handling and powertrain in your opinion? I'm looking at Altis and also the XV.

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The XV is a SUV, so the roll centre is higher. However in the rain, the XV is better because it has more grip due to AWD. The Corolla is a larger car because it is a full C segment car. Sedans are also lower than SUV so are more agile, esp in the dry. It also weighs less.

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Of course the IS would be so much better. However, do note that it is the total package made up of rhe build type, the spring and shocker settings, the unsprung weight, and even the wheel size and tyres, up to tread and rubber compound. Finally, the size and balance of the vehicle, overhang, height and roll centre play a part. We went up in an identical car with 3 media in the car, and this time I went alone. The weight difference already made such a difference.
