I work with Hekate. I believe she is not matter, but energy. Hekate is a great shadow guide. I have grown so much in rituals with her. Dark goddesses are not evil. They help people travel their own darkness darkness in life.

i was scared of working with deities when i first started because i didn’t understand. sekhmet found me randomly on a google search when i was looking up ancient egypt, she is the bloodthirsty lioness of war who almost took out humanity due to her rage, but she is also the goddess of health, and she is bastets “twin”, so she can be soothed into a purring kitten under the right circumstances, so whenever i feel anger or rage, i offer those feelings to her instead of lashing out at the people around me. she helps me through my shadow work and keeps me recognizing my bad coping mechanisms and dysregulation when i feel unsafe or threatened. she gives me strength to speak up and defend myself when needed, but also soothes me and tells me to breathe and relax and give my anger to her when it does not serve me. i love her so much and im so thankful. your medusa story is beautiful and im very proud of you 💓 i love to see people grow and your determination is infectious. thank you for all you do for us (and yourself!) 💓
I've worked with Lilith for a couple of years and I used to say sorry all the time for things that weren't my fault, but that pretty much stopped as soon as I started working with her. I grew up with three older step sisters who were abusive and controlling (some have grown up), plus a semi paranoid Christian mum wasn't very fun. I had to deal with all of that purity culture bullshit, I had hellish experiences with relationships in church. So before I was this shy meek person, I wasn't shy as a child btw but I just remember being shut down for anything good I achieved or being made fun of stuff I didn't understand by my older sisters. I was sexually abused by my uncle (I'm a male) and my sisters were worried if I was gay and said that they wouldn't love me if I was, I was 8. After working with Lilith however, a lot of memories surfaced and I was furious with nothing to take my anger out on, but with lots and lots of meditation I became calmer and with time I was able to process a lot of shit like that and cut ties, live my life. I am now studying to be a massage therapist, and its one of the first jobs that I am enjoying.
I'm glad you have found some peace and hopefully some joy in your life. It took courage for you to tell your story, but you've probably helped a lot of people who couldn't bring themselves to talk about this. I grew up a Southern Baptist. I used to joke at AA meetings that I was a "recovering Southern Baptist" and it has been so hard to get all of those Sunday school, brain washed recordings out of my head. But, I have reached out to Hecate and I hope that she wants to work with me or will point me in the right direction. 🌟
I like Hellenistic deities, I work with Dionysus because he is actually what Jesus is based upon, look it up yourself the similarities with the plays around Dionysus and Jesus's stories. I personally found healing through this realisation, but don't assume he is just a drunk associated with wine, it' is more accurate to say that he is intoxication, madness, bliss, death, rebirth, and dance among many other associations. When the Greeks occupied Egypt he was associated with Osiris, and when the Greeks encountered India, he was associated with lord Shiva. Here is a little advice on working with any deity, just go for it, assume that it works, and be consistent with a ritual. Just try your best and look for subtle signs, but don't have any expectations on how or when. The dark Goddess is very fierce, she might come across as anger, hatred, or fear, because she rules over these emotions. You must face them in surrender but remain firm and calm, like rain (more like a thunder storm) let her wash over you, then you will feel a sense of completeness and peace that is incomprehensible. In other words, if you have a scary "lucid" dream remain calm, look for her, and you will find the dark goddess waiting in the energy of fear itself or any other dark emotion. The asteroid Lilith is in my first house. I've always felt rejected, and I used to stay in that state of self pity until I realized "They just don't except me because they can't understand me, but I can try to understand and accept me" and that's when I started to embrace being an outsider and it's helped me a lot.
Being a black magician - Lilith has always seemed quite ideal for me. I also like Hekate! Or perhaps Hel! I haven't worked with any goddesses yet but if I did - the suggestions you've made are excellent! Quick lore lesson: the name of the Norse goddess "Hel" was stolen by the Roman catholic church along with the pits of Tartarus from Greek mythos and they called it "Hell" and used it as a threat to non-conformists. I look at it as more of a counsel of dark goddesses. I submit the request to my counsel and which ever goddess wishes to step in to assist I ask her what she wishes from me or what she suggests for me to do to enhance the energies to accomplish it ❤
I feel like dark got a bad rap through the rise of certain more recent religions and modernity. Demonizing certain divine feminine figures. Dark is just mysterious and misunderstood. it's not bad or mean or evil. She is still a nurturing mother, but a bit more fierce and to the point. Speaking from working with Kali
Probably one of the best intros I've heard on this topic. Well done! I have always felt more at home with dark energy, but as you said, its not evil. Sometimes receding into the dark helps us deal with the light. I can't vouch for others experiences, but my relationship with Lilith and The Morrigan have not been negative. I like that they are blunt but fair. They won't let me lie to myself or will call out where I might be self-deceptive. They've helped me understand my spouse much better, so I can be a better husband. They've been there to help with shadow work, and understanding what motivates me. They've also taught me to be kinder to myself.
Oh my God you're Medusa story has moved me to tears. (Trying NOT to cry at work. Lol) I am a SA victim and I've spent the past 4 or 5 years trying to sort that out on my own. I've come a long way, but it still gets difficult at times. I've never even considered the option or possibility of working with a deity to help with the healing process. In fact that stuff always made me nervous due to my lack of knowledge and scary stories I've heard. Thank you for bringing this topic into a new light for me. I'm not sure if I'm ready to jump into worship, but know that is there for me to look into has given me a lot more reassurance.
Oh no, so sorry to make you cry at work!! 😂 Yes, dark goddess work can be AMAZING for healing past trauma. And I would never suggest diving straight into worship... You definitely need to do what feels right to you! Start out slow with some research and see if anything calls out ❤️ I hope you find lots of healing when you're ready for it, lovely!
Working with the Morrigan for a little time now came here to look for tips, thing about the dark goddesses (at least with The Morrigan in my case) is that while they aren't scary the concepts they deal with are (like death, in my case). I work with the dead. As a med student I see cadavers quite often and at some point I just got sick of trying to pretend a piece of cloth was protecting me and keeping me isolated while I literally moved their muscles around and decided to just listen to them. No more 'stay away from them cuz they suck your energy' (which I'm not saying isn't the case about some and for some people, but it just doesn't apply to my case). I decided to fully open up to them and listen to them. More often then not, all they want to de is either, vent, cry or have some company that won't immediately shut them down. That is my act of service and my daily work for The Morrigan. However, when I mention people I like working with the dead, practiioners or not they often get scandalized. Death is still such a huge taboo. Same goes with assault and things like that. 'But how can you possibly wish to work with that????????' they ask. It's like their way to deal with it is trying to pretend it's not there and that such things just don't exist, but idk, it's just a part of life
Oh, I resonate with this so much! Death is a natural part of life and people won't ever be able to fathom why some of us enjoy working with the darker aspects of nature. Agreed with everything you said!
A lot of what is worship is gratitude and appreciation. ❤ because when backed into a corner I had strength from her in an instant, it's so easy to feel love and gratitude and appreciation for her. There's everything within us, and for me lilith is aggressive and protective. It's something thats never been me. I have always wished for someone to stand up for me and say "leave her alone" but she's shown me the strength to do that through her. It's easy to be grateful, in awe, terrified, and respectful of her. ❤

As a new witch, the first goddess I reached out to was Kali and she has become my matron goddess. She has really helped me overcome some of my problems and has assisted with justice workings. We haven’t quite perfected our relationship, if I don’t get the offerings just right, she will help herself to one.

@@Sekhmet245 I just felt drawn to her. She is not dangerous and can be very loving and powerful. Just don’t forget to give her offerings or she will take something from you. She likes rice and lentils and a candle I bought for her. She likes to have an altar which is pretty simple. You could have a picture or statue of her and a candle.
Persephone came into my life when I was a child. During my Jungian training, her archetype overlapped with what I was going through at the moment. I was scared of identifying myself with her, so I went to seek advice from an analyst on what to do when life puts me into identifying with a goddess of the underworld. I had no clear answer. I left her by leaving the path to be a therapist. I'm now going back to her via another route. The last part of the video was very useful to know how I can work with a goddess. I'm going to start meditation.
Kali Ma is somewhat misunderstood. Yes, she is the Goddess of Death and Time and Darkness - space represents her she is ALL she is EVERYWHERE, but Kali Ma is also a sweet Mother who loves unconditionally and represents Brahman - she IS the "One" who Vishnu and Shiva bow down to. IF you have the space to make a proper alter and are going to make an offering please know she loves fruits (lemons) and even flowers (hibiscus). I don't have space to make a proper alter + I live w/someone else.. But I do offer thanks and gratitude and listen to her mantras just to vibe w/her and show love. Sometimes I chant quietly to myself just to show her love w/o wanting anything. 🖤
Aww I love Kali beyond words. She brought me to be a parent. She has helped guide me the entire way. I really do need to make an alter or go outside and be closer to here, maybe.
i used to be a christian but went through a long time where my faith wained and i couldnt follow that anymore despite my attachment to it. it was nyx that reached out to me in this low time, she makes me feel what i was told being a christian was supposed to make me feel. she reminds me to be strong in the face of the unknown.
I was having a very hard weekend and I felt a strong presence come and check on me while I was sleeping. I didn’t turn over because I knew I was going to be ok. It felt like I was being protected. I literally heard footsteps walking behind me while I was sleepy and I felt some energy leaning over and checking on me while I was laying there. No one was there and I got woken up. I’m still trying to figure out if it was Lilith. 🖤

My matron spirit is The Morrigan in particular the war like aspect. She wants me to be a part of affecting change so I offered my music as my offering. She heavily associated with crows and birds so song is kinda perfect. She even introduced me to self love an another goddess specialized in that which was surprising.
Medusa is one of the first deities that I’ve encountered and she came to me in one my mediations early this year. Although I’ve experienced a different forms of abuse in my past but I just came to a huge realization that I was a victim of sex*al harassment on Twitter when I talked to grown men who I thought were my “friends” back in 2017-2020. Even one of them tried to hit on me while they’re married to someone else, made inappropriate remarks about my body, and other things that I find difficult to explain. I was talking to them when I was about in my late teens because I thought they were normal people to talk to but I found out later on that some of them I’ve talked to were either a-holes or just straight up creeps. I no longer talk to them anymore and stopped using Twitter for good. It hurts that I almost forgot about it until Medusa made me realize of all of the things that I repressed and that I need to examine my past experiences of abuse and how I can completely take my power back. Most importantly how I can learn to protect myself through her brilliant and yet powerful energy 💚

I have been feeling a VERY strong pull to Lilith and a pull to break free from the chains that have been wrapped around me my entire life. the urge and pull is stronger than it ever has been. I feel like She has been calling me for a while but i wasn't ready and ignored. I do not know a lot about shadow work, I know bits a pieces about Mother Lilith however, the pull is strong and I wish her to be in my life, to understand her and worship her. I have absolutely no idea where to start or what to do, all I know is that this pull is STRONG. Hekate found me... and I found her... my trauma bonding and healing of my hurt heart has helped me so much. I appreciate and resoect my dark side without fear and honour my relationship with her. Altar to her is a loving expression of this joy.
Consider the algorithm as much as you want, but if a Spirit pops up there, the Energy is still in your Life. As you explained: Ultimately, the better the algorithm the more it‘s like an energetic reflection of you yourself and everything you are connected to. A digital - dare I say - Black Mirror. This is so crazy- I have just started getting into the craft- as I’m on a healing and shadow work journey. I am a novice, novice y’all: I am learning as I go, and know very minimal information as of now (but I’m learning and growing each day which is important). I say all this to explain I was scrolling for some content, and a video popped up on the History of Hecate: The Goddess of Witchcraft on my feed here! **I haven’t ever look her up, I didn’t know who she was, nor have I ever looked up spiritual information online- I’m old fashioned and love a good book! And no, she hasn’t come across anything in my reading; I didn’t even know you could worship goddess until about 45 minutes ago.** Stunned, I got this warm feeling in my stomach through the whole video and it felt like my body was vibrating- I just felt intuitively that it was meant for me to see and either she, my spirit guides, or them together called me- I’m answering. I just didn’t know how, and wouldn’t you know the first video under the recommended was this one; a how to and expectations, I just know this was her reaching out! I’m so excited to follow along and build a relationship with her and continue to heal! I’m glad she presented herself to me! 💚✨

Wow that my Dark Goddess was revealed to me in a healing space and then again in a reading during the Spring of this year and was confirmed by a subsequent reading. I had become intrigued by serpent energy-the rebirth and again she was drawing near. I kinda forgot all about it, but she was always a whisper in the back of my mind. Then her symbolism began to appear to me in various situations. I have Versace eyeglasses and stumbled upon the Medusa symbolism for the Versace brand. I paused your video and did pendulum work to ask if I was to work with her and it was a resounding “YES!” I mentioned a few other names, Kali was a “No” and I also got yes for Sekhmet. Then you revealed who you were called to at the end and I almost fell out! Also…I noticed her right away at the beginning of your video. I don't do much deity work, but I do feel some kind of Goddess energy reaching out to me but was uncertain of the name of this deity. This video inspired me to do some research and I'm fairly certain that it's Lilith (also mentioned in your recent vampirism video--a synchronicity maybe?). It makes sense that I would connect with Lilith due to my Judeo-Christian background--I have an MDiv and was going to become an Episcopal priest. I now identify as a witch, but still honor what I learned from my time in Christianity. I'm looking forward to getting to know Lilith more! As a slavic pagan I just wanted to drop a note here Baba Yaga was never a goddess in the old lore. She was just an entity or spirit being. (I'm honestly not sure how to word it but she wasn't a goddess. These two words I feel describe it the best). Now over time people have called her a goddess & that is just fine, you do you, but just understand where she came from and it wasn't goddesshood.
Hello 🖤 It’s funny but I’ve aligned with the occult my whole life and had wanted to and tried since I was little to along with Paganism but it just didn’t click for me- I sort of felt sad because I love and felt connected to nature and deities but there was no one to teach me and I had limited information but still it felt like something was out there beckoning me and I come from a toxic Christianity background so to finally learn about these dark Goddesses and Gods, finally I am feeling all the things everyone says you should feel when you worship. And it was so great to think “yes ! I am prequalified for once in my life, I am perfect as I am, broken and mouthy and as a rebellion, and as an outcast.” I don’t know how else to describe it. Like maybe there is a place in the world for me and I am supported. When I started listening I realized I had been getting these nudges and whispers all along. I feel drawn to Bast, Freya and Lilith.. I heard that aspects of these other deities are part of Lilith so that is how I came to think it’s her. I also had this particular gemstone spring to my mind: Golden sheen obsidian which is perfect for her bc it helps with transformation and self power but the grounding and shielding of obsidian too. I also feel like I’m being called by Lucifer too. I think they probably work together sometimes in different ways for the same goals. Anyway, I struggle with just accepting the simplicity of connection like when you said you can simply just meditate that you are meeting her or that you visualize her stepping into you, is it really that simple? I heard that the ceremonies and rituals are more for us humans to get our minds and hearts open to them because they’re always there and like you said can always hear us so is that it? I feel like a child who is super starry eyed right now, super annoying but endearing, like when you said don’t just ask, give as well and say thanks and build a relationship first - ugh duh I was just so excited to work with her I just drove right in so thanks for your video - I love your shrine and alter it’s so peaceful and tidy and beautiful. ❤
I, of course, always love your videos but this one came up at the perfect time. I’ve been thinking of and feeling drawn to Persephone lately. I haven’t worked closely with a deity yet and have been feeling overwhelmed and nervous to start. More than anything, I never want to disrespect a deity or the process. Though if you approach with grace, knowledge, and the correct mindset, I don’t believe it could be viewed as disrespectful.

Im going to give a warning here. Working with a dark goddess is great for shadow work. But if you choose to go into the underworld (i mean this literally and i dont mean in the astral realm either. I mean the actual spiritual world with dead people), allowing yourself to die, then be reborn to unload trauma and have a clean soul, you need to make sure you are mentally strong. You will see some things. Everything ugly about yourself, or trauma you have been through will be brought in front of you. If you were sa'ed, expect this to be shown again and expect to be forced to confront this. If you were ever beaten by a man, or treated poorly by a parent or lover, you will be forced to confront it. Many people have gone insane because they just can't get through their own hell. In fact, some souls might get left behind, and the body becomes almost soulless. Now the good news. If you make it through the death walk, you will be a new person ready to be filled with all of the good things life can offer you. It's the scariest thing I've ever done, but also the best thing I've ever done.
Just reading this now. Above I share my story and you summarized it perfectly. I went mad for a while. I’m now a new person. I live on my Pluto line now too and I’m still on a journey of transformation.

Sometimes, I need a swift kick in the pants to remind me how crucial the work is. It's one thing to give offerings or observe feast days out of habit. Doing the work is different. It's deeper. It requires mindfulness. It requires being in the present moment and feeling the emotions, naming them, accepting them and embracing them. I started with persephone. Then lillith and now hekate. To find that helate was a friend and mentor to persephone i felt hekate is the mature me and persephone was the young me. I have been very rebellious and ive been abused by men similar to lillith. I connect to them all and researched them all. They have changed my life and perspective all in different ways i calll on them for different reasons. Blessed be sisters

This is similar to my journey. In the beginning, I also ‘flirted’ with The Morrígan, and loved her energy, but after some time I felt like she stepped back. I've just found you and what a delightful, insightful, knowledgeable and beautiful soul you are! I'm now binge watching your videos to catch up. LOL! I've read tarot for years, bought my first deck in the 70s along with Linda Goodman's Sun Signs book and a pair of rose tinted sunglasses with silver wire frames. Imagine my surprise when she referenced those rose tinted glasses in the first paragraph of my Sagittarius sun sign! I was hooked at that moment. Yeah, I'm that old hippie chick, though now I'm probably called a crone. I've never been drawn to religion but I am a spiritual person. I've never worshipped a God or Goddess but I do feel the connectedness to ALL in the universe, especially animals. Lately I've been drawn, nay, pulled to Goddess Oracles and Tarot decks and have started a journal just for Goddess messages. One day while listening to a guided past life meditation video I saw myself skipping down an ancient forest path. All around me was beautiful shades of green. I was wearing a green dress that flowed around my ankles, I had long blondish wavy hair with a circle of hand woven flowers as a crown. My shoes were made of a soft brown suede and tied with a green ribbon around ankle. I could see people gathered ahead of me at a wooden table laughing and drinking, kids running and playing, a stew in a big black cauldron cooking over a large fire. I remember being so happy, peaceful, and loved. Then the name Cerridwen was called. I don't know if it was me they were calling or if someone else or if they were honoring the Goddess herself. Some noise brought me out of the meditation and I've never been to that place again when doing past lives meditation. I did some research on Cerridwen and found she is the keeper of the cauldron, the keeper of knowledge. That experience happened months ago but every now and then her name pops into my mind out of the blue, and in the past week when I pull a daily oracle card Cerridwen has jumped out of my hands twice. Since I've never really worked with a Goddess I wonder if these are just coincidences or if she is calling me. I've never called myself a witch but I've been interested in witchcraft but have never practiced. My daughter works with herbs and candles and she is amazing and powerful. Ince im retired I have a lot of free time to start reading about witchcraft and moonology to expand my knowledge beyond astrology and tarot. I'm so late to this form of divination, if that's what it is called, but I'm curious to learn more. I didn't mean to write a short novel here but it's so nice to be able to tell someone what's in my mind regarding these subjects. I added it to my other three oracle cards in my reading and started seeing so many synchronicities between the cards. Just now I read that Cerridwen's cauldron is named Awen! How do you choose which Dark Goddess to whom you dedicate yourself? This such a well put together video, and this question came to mind as I feel drawn to more than one Dark Goddess. I found out in the last year that Lilith has been part of my journey since childhood. She is the first I actually began working with after finally connecting. Then, The Morrigan comes along with whom I also feel a draw towards, though she may not be a mainstay as Lilith feels. Recently, I have found out about Nyx being a part of my spirit team, knowing so much about me and my soul. And, I believe Nyx may have been coming through in the mundane years ago when I first heard about Nyx makeup products. I'm not a big makeup person, using whatever, but my former friend who was would consistently tell me about this brand, lol. She was coming up a bit last year too through the random videos and images on social media feeds. So, could we work with these different Goddesses without dedicating to one, though have a main one who feels like a matron? I love and appreciate all of them and their aspects, though it's sometimes difficult for me to figure out which one(s) is/are THE one(s).
Sekhmet has been around me peripherally lately. In dreams she isn't the focus but obviously there and I recently learned my favorite number is also associated with her. I have always been interested in her but now I have started learning about her in a deliberate fashion. Also in case someone needs to hear this, dark ≠ evil.

This is such a beautiful and well done video. So comforting and educational for those new to this side of deity worship. This is probably going to be controversial because i know a lot of people feel drawn to Lilith, but i have to warn that she *is* a demon originating from a closed practice. Her origins are directly stemming from jewish mysticism if im not wrong (which definitely is closed) so i heavily suggest you do your research on the topic before you practice. Also considering her dark origins and the fact that she was credited with causing grief and miscarriage in jewish culture, it can be seen as disrespectful to worship her. I'm obviously not a professional and i havent done any research on her in a while so i could be very wrong about this, but i know modern paganism has a tendency to be dismissive on such topics. which in turn is harmful to the history and cultures these stemmed from. Sorry for nerding out, i just felt this was important to know :)
The Morrigan, Hekate and Bastet were the first Dark Goddesses to reach out to me when i began my study of witchcraft. I dnt rlly follow Hekate anymore, and Bastet has definitely become more prominent in my pantheon as ive begun to worship Babalon and Ereshkigal and Aset
I’ve always loved and felt empowered by the Dark Goddess in her many guises. I respect and fear them, because they can bring swift change into ones life even if you are not ready for it. Maybe because I’ve always been drawn to things that are dark or gothic and struggles with years of depression, there’s just a natural love and appreciation for the dark goddesses. 🙏
I always had an interest in Lilith, Even when I was practicing religion back then.....and now that I hear about her again and taking time to investigate about her, it's curious to me that she's all about putting boundaries and recover the power that got stolen.... Something that I also lived and to this day I still struggle with.....I wish i knew more about her and dark goddesses earlier because it's all i needed and need right now.

I’ve studied for 25 years now, and just absorbed information and let myself gain a knowledge and respect for my path, if that makes sense. The Morrigan pretty much found me. I had never studied the deities in any other sense then the God, Goddess, and sort of just let myself grow in real life and spiritual things. This is an interesting journey to be sure.

Really enjoyed this video. I've been working with a Dark Goddess for several years and my start was similar - started (fleetingly) with Lilith before doing research and coming where I am now. I always enjoy hearing others' journeys.
I heard that as “especially if this is your first lifetime doing shadow work” 😅 girl I wish! My relationship with Lilith, Kali, the Morrigan and to a lesser extent Hekate have been very slow in developing. I am always surprised at the energies that reach out to me…..though looking back to what I had come to equate with being ‘the way I should be’, of course I shouldn’t be surprised they would step in and wake me up to my true nature again. Kali and the Morrigan all but shoved their way into my life, or at least made their presence very known. This was at the very beginning of what I guess I would term my ‘spiritual path, or devotion to spirit’ I’ve always been the quiet kid who talked to dead people and hung out in the astral or the in-between. It always felt more home than anything else as a child. As I grew older I strayed farther from that and became more ‘earth bound’ I guess is a term I’d use. Even now I have been very hesitant to fully devote myself to working with them, or any deities really, though they have been patient but persistent. Thanks for this video. It is a nice reminder that they would really like me to get on with it!

One important question I have is regarding inviting Medusa into your body is- what can you do to protect yourself from some other spirit or entity from entering instead? I attract alot of spirits (which I embrace happily) but Im still somewhat new at practicing (other than what came naturally my whole life). I actually started really studying when it was necessary for protection. So with that being said, I am very cautious regarding trickery and deceit. i was scared of working with deities when i first started because i didn’t understand. sekhmet found me randomly on a google search when i was looking up ancient egypt, she is the bloodthirsty lioness of war who almost took out humanity due to her rage, but she is also the goddess of health, and she is bastets “twin”, so she can be soothed into a purring kitten under the right circumstances, so whenever i feel anger or rage, i offer those feelings to her instead of lashing out at the people around me. she helps me through my shadow work and keeps me recognizing my bad coping mechanisms and dysregulation when i feel unsafe or threatened. she gives me strength to speak up and defend myself when needed, but also soothes me and tells me to breathe and relax and give my anger to her when it does not serve me. i love her so much and im so thankful.

I've worked with Lilith for a couple of years and I used to say sorry all the time for things that weren't my fault, but that pretty much stopped as soon as I started working with her. I grew up with three older step sisters who were abusive and controlling (some have grown up), plus a semi paranoid Christian mum wasn't very fun. I had to deal with all of that purity culture bullshit, I had hellish experiences with relationships in church. So before I was this shy meek person, I wasn't shy as a child btw but I just remember being shut down for anything good I achieved or being made fun of stuff I didn't understand by my older sisters. I was sexually abused by my uncle (I'm a male) and my sisters were worried if I was gay and said that they wouldn't love me if I was, I was 8.
After working with Lilith however, a lot of memories surfaced and I was furious with nothing to take my anger out on, but with lots and lots of meditation I became calmer and with time I was able to process a lot of shit like that and cut ties, live my life. I am now studying to be a massage therapist, and its one of the first jobs that I am enjoying.

I'm glad you have found some peace and hopefully some joy in your life. It took courage for you to tell your story, but you've probably helped a lot of people who couldn't bring themselves to talk about this. I grew up a Southern Baptist. I used to joke at AA meetings that I was a "recovering Southern Baptist" and it has been so hard to get all of those Sunday school, brain washed recordings out of my head. But, I have reached out to Hecate and I hope that she wants to work with me or will point me in the right direction. 🌟
I like Hellenistic deities, I work with Dionysus because he is actually what Jesus is based upon, look it up yourself the similarities with the plays around Dionysus and Jesus's stories. I personally found healing through this realisation, but don't assume he is just a drunk associated with wine, it' is more accurate to say that he is intoxication, madness, bliss, death, rebirth, and dance among many other associations. When the Greeks occupied Egypt he was associated with Osiris, and when the Greeks encountered India, he was associated with lord Shiva.
Here is a little advice on working with any deity, just go for it, assume that it works, and be consistent with a ritual. Just try your best and look for subtle signs, but don't have any expectations on how or when. The dark Goddess is very fierce, she might come across as anger, hatred, or fear, because she rules over these emotions. You must face them in surrender but remain firm and calm, like rain (more like a thunder storm) let her wash over you, then you will feel a sense of completeness and peace that is incomprehensible. In other words, if you have a scary "lucid" dream remain calm, look for her, and you will find the dark goddess waiting in the energy of fear itself or any other dark emotion. The asteroid Lilith is in my first house. I've always felt rejected, and I used to stay in that state of self pity until I realized "They just don't except me because they can't understand me, but I can try to understand and accept me" and that's when I started to embrace being an outsider and it's helped me a lot.
Similar for me. She’s in my midheaven tenth house. Everyone sees me as the dark feminine energy that doesn’t fit the status quo.
Same placement for me in Scorpio also conjunct my ascendant. This really, really resonated with my experience too
Working with Hekate was been so rewarding. She is truly like a mother - caring, loving and teaches you a lot.
Being a black magician - Lilith has always seemed quite ideal for me. I also like Hekate! Or perhaps Hel! I haven't worked with any goddesses yet but if I did - the suggestions you've made are excellent!
Quick lore lesson: the name of the Norse goddess "Hel" was stolen by the Roman catholic church along with the pits of Tartarus from Greek mythos and they called it "Hell" and used it as a threat to non-conformists.

I look at it as more of a counsel of dark goddesses. I submit the request to my counsel and which ever goddess wishes to step in to assist I ask her what she wishes from me or what she suggests for me to do to enhance the energies to accomplish it ❤

Probably one of the best intros I've heard on this topic. Well done! I have always felt more at home with dark energy, but as you said, its not evil. Sometimes receding into the dark helps us deal with the light. I can't vouch for others experiences, but my relationship with Lilith and The Morrigan have not been negative. I like that they are blunt but fair. They won't let me lie to myself or will call out where I might be self-deceptive. They've helped me understand my spouse much better, so I can be a better husband. They've been there to help with shadow work, and understanding what motivates me. They've also taught me to be kinder to myself.

Oh my God you're Medusa story has moved me to tears. (Trying NOT to cry at work. Lol) I am a SA victim and I've spent the past 4 or 5 years trying to sort that out on my own. I've come a long way, but it still gets difficult at times. I've never even considered the option or possibility of working with a deity to help with the healing process. In fact that stuff always made me nervous due to my lack of knowledge and scary stories I've heard. Thank you for bringing this topic into a new light for me. I'm not sure if I'm ready to jump into worship, but know that is there for me to look into has given me a lot more reassurance.

Working with the Morrigan for a little time now came here to look for tips, thing about the dark goddesses (at least with The Morrigan in my case) is that while they aren't scary the concepts they deal with are (like death, in my case). I work with the dead. As a med student I see cadavers quite often and at some point I just got sick of trying to pretend a piece of cloth was protecting me and keeping me isolated while I literally moved their muscles around and decided to just listen to them. No more 'stay away from them cuz they suck your energy' (which I'm not saying isn't the case about some and for some people, but it just doesn't apply to my case). I decided to fully open up to them and listen to them. More often then not, all they want to de is either, vent, cry or have some company that won't immediately shut them down. That is my act of service and my daily work for The Morrigan. However, when I mention people I like working with the dead, practiioners or not they often get scandalized. Death is still such a huge taboo. Same goes with assault and things like that. 'But how can you possibly wish to work with that????????' they ask. It's like their way to deal with it is trying to pretend it's not there and that such things just don't exist, but idk, it's just a part of life
Oh, I resonate with this so much! Death is a natural part of life and people won't ever be able to fathom why some of us enjoy working with the darker aspects of nature. Agreed with everything you said!
A lot of what is worship is gratitude and appreciation. ❤ because when backed into a corner I had strength from her in an instant, it's so easy to feel love and gratitude and appreciation for her. There's everything within us, and for me lilith is aggressive and protective. It's something thats never been me. As a new witch, the first goddess I reached out to was Kali and she has become my matron goddess. She has really helped me overcome some of my problems and has assisted with justice workings. We haven’t quite perfected our relationship, if I don’t get the offerings just right, she will help herself to one.

She likes rice and lentils and a candle I bought for her. She likes to have an altar which is pretty simple. You could have a picture or statue of her and a candle.

Persephone came into my life when I was a child. During my Jungian training, her archetype overlapped with what I was going through at the moment. I was scared of identifying myself with her, so I went to seek advice from an analyst on what to do when life puts me into identifying with a goddess of the underworld. I had no clear answer. I left her by leaving the path to be a therapist. I'm now going back to her via another route. The last part of the video was very useful to know how I can work with a goddess. I'm going to start meditation.
Kali Ma is somewhat misunderstood. Yes, she is the Goddess of Death and Time and Darkness - space represents her she is ALL she is EVERYWHERE, but Kali Ma is also a sweet Mother who loves unconditionally and represents Brahman - she IS the "One" who Vishnu and Shiva bow down to. IF you have the space to make a proper alter and are going to make an offering please know she loves fruits (lemons) and even flowers (hibiscus). I don't have space to make a proper alter + I live w/someone else.. But I do offer thanks and gratitude and listen to her mantras just to vibe w/her and show love. Sometimes I chant quietly to myself just to show her love w/o wanting anything. 🖤

i used to be a christian but went through a long time where my faith wained and i couldnt follow that anymore despite my attachment to it. it was nyx that reached out to me in this low time, she makes me feel what i was told being a christian was supposed to make me feel. she reminds me to be strong in the face of the unknown.
I was having a very hard weekend and I felt a strong presence come and check on me while I was sleeping. I didn’t turn over because I knew I was going to be ok. It felt like I was being protected. I literally heard footsteps walking behind me while I was sleepy and I felt some energy leaning over and checking on me while I was laying there. No one was there and I got woken up. I’m still trying to figure out if it was Lilith. 🖤

My matron spirit is The Morrigan in particular the war like aspect. She wants me to be a part of affecting change so I offered my music as my offering. She heavily associated with crows and birds so song is kinda perfect.
She even introduced me to self love an another goddess specialized in that which was surprising.

Medusa is one of the first deities that I’ve encountered and she came to me in one my mediations early this year. Although I’ve experienced a different forms of abuse in my past but I just came to a huge realization that I was a victim of sex*al harassment on Twitter when I talked to grown men who I thought were my “friends” back in 2017-2020. Even one of them tried to hit on me while they’re married to someone else, made inappropriate remarks about my body, and other things that I find difficult to explain. I was talking to them when I was about in my late teens because I thought they were normal people to talk to but I found out later on that some of them I’ve talked to were either a-holes or just straight up creeps. I no longer talk to them anymore and stopped using Twitter for good. It hurts that I almost forgot about it until Medusa made me realize of all of the things that I repressed and that I need to examine my past experiences of abuse and how I can completely take my power back. Most importantly how I can learn to protect myself through her brilliant and yet powerful energy 💚

Greetings and thank you so much for this video, im glad i found you. I am very new to this and have been through a lot. now for the reason why i am here. I have been feeling a VERY strong pull to Lilith and a pull to break free from the chains that have been wrapped around me my entire life. the urge and pull is stronger than it ever has been. I feel like She has been calling me for a while but i wasn't ready and ignored. I do not know a lot about shadow work, I know bits a pieces about Mother Lilith however, the pull is strong and I wish her to be in my life, to understand her and worship her. I have absolutely no idea where to start or what to do, all I know is that this pull is STRONG. Consider the algorithm as much as you want, but if a Spirit pops up there, the Energy is still in your Life. As you explained: Ultimately, the better the algorithm the more it‘s like an energetic reflection of you yourself and everything you are connected to. A digital - dare I say - Black Mirror.

This is so crazy- I have just started getting into the craft- as I’m on a healing and shadow work journey. I am a novice, novice y’all: I am learning as I go, and know very minimal information as of now (but I’m learning and growing each day which is important). I say all this to explain I was scrolling for some content, and a video popped up on the History of Hecate: The Goddess of Witchcraft on my feed here! **I haven’t ever look her up, I didn’t know who she was, nor have I ever looked up spiritual information online- I’m old fashioned and love a good book! And no, she hasn’t come across anything in my reading; I didn’t even know you could worship goddess until about 45 minutes ago.** Stunned, I got this warm feeling in my stomach through the whole video and it felt like my body was vibrating- I just felt intuitively that it was meant for me to see and either she, my spirit guides, or them together called me- I’m answering. I just didn’t know how, and wouldn’t you know the first video under the recommended was this one; a how to and expectations, I just know this was her reaching out! Wow that my Dark Goddess was revealed to me in a healing space and then again in a reading during the Spring of this year and was confirmed by a subsequent reading. I had become intrigued by serpent energy-the rebirth and again she was drawing near. I kinda forgot all about it, but she was always a whisper in the back of my mind. Then her symbolism began to appear to me in various situations. I have Versace eyeglasses and stumbled upon the Medusa symbolism for the Versace brand. I don't do much deity work, but I do feel some kind of Goddess energy reaching out to me but was uncertain of the name of this deity. This video inspired me to do some research and I'm fairly certain that it's Lilith (also mentioned in your recent vampirism video--a synchronicity maybe?). It makes sense that I would connect with Lilith due to my Judeo-Christian background--I have an MDiv and was going to become an Episcopal priest. I now identify as a witch, but still honor what I learned from my time in Christianity. I'm looking forward to getting to know Lilith more! As a slavic pagan I just wanted to drop a note here Baba Yaga was never a goddess in the old lore. She was just an entity or spirit being. (I'm honestly not sure how to word it but she wasn't a goddess. These two words I feel describe it the best). Now over time people have called her a goddess & that is just fine, you do you, but just understand where she came from and it wasn't goddesshood.

It’s funny but I’ve aligned with the occult my whole life and had wanted to and tried since I was little to along with Paganism but it just didn’t click for me- I sort of felt sad because I love and felt connected to nature and deities but there was no one to teach me and I had limited information but still it felt like something was out there beckoning me and I come from a toxic Christianity background so to finally learn about these dark Goddesses and Gods, finally I am feeling all the things everyone says you should feel when you worship. And it was so great to think “yes ! I am prequalified for once in my life, I am perfect as I am, broken and mouthy and as a rebellion, and as an outcast.” I don’t know how else to describe it. Like maybe there is a place in the world for me and I am supported. When I started listening I realized I had been getting these nudges and whispers all along.
I feel drawn to Bast, Freya and Lilith.. I heard that aspects of these other deities are part of Lilith so that is how I came to think it’s her. I also had this particular gemstone spring to my mind: Golden sheen obsidian which is perfect for her bc it helps with transformation and self power but the grounding and shielding of obsidian too.
I also feel like I’m being called by Lucifer too. I think they probably work together sometimes in different ways for the same goals.
Anyway, I struggle with just accepting the simplicity of connection like when you said you can simply just meditate that you are meeting her or that you visualize her stepping into you, is it really that simple?

I, of course, always love your videos but this one came up at the perfect time. I’ve been thinking of and feeling drawn to Persephone lately. I haven’t worked closely with a deity yet and have been feeling overwhelmed and nervous to start. More than anything, I never want to disrespect a deity or the process. Though if you approach with grace, knowledge, and the correct mindset, I don’t believe it could be viewed as disrespectful.

Im going to give a warning here. Working with a dark goddess is great for shadow work. But if you choose to go into the underworld (i mean this literally and i dont mean in the astral realm either. I mean the actual spiritual world with dead people), allowing yourself to die, then be reborn to unload trauma and have a clean soul, you need to make sure you are mentally strong. You will see some things. Everything ugly about yourself, or trauma you have been through will be brought in front of you. If you were sa'ed, expect this to be shown again and expect to be forced to confront this. If you were ever beaten by a man, or treated poorly by a parent or lover, you will be forced to confront it. Many people have gone insane because they just can't get through their own hell. In fact, some souls might get left behind, and the body becomes almost soulless. Now the good news. If you make it through the death walk, you will be a new person ready to be filled with all of the good things life can offer you. It's the scariest thing I've ever done, but also the best thing I've ever done.

New subbie. I really appreciate this video. Until now, I've been working with two dark goddesses and will begin work with a third this month. Sometimes, I need a swift kick in the pants to remind me how crucial the work is. It's one thing to give offerings or observe feast days out of habit. Doing the work is different. It's deeper. It requires mindfulness. It requires being in the present moment and feeling the emotions, naming them, accepting them and embracing them.

But I've never actually dedicated my practice to a goddess yet. So right now I'm doing as much research as I can on working with a dark goddess. I'm also learning about shadow work. I started with persephone. Then lillith and now hekate. To find that helate was a friend and mentor to persephone i felt hekate is the mature me and persephone was the young me. I have been very rebellious and ive been abused by men similar to lillith. I connect to them all and researched them all. They have changed my life and perspective all in different ways i calll on them for different reasons. Blessed be sisters

I've just found you and what a delightful, insightful, knowledgeable and beautiful soul you are! I'm now binge watching your videos to catch up. LOL! I've read tarot for years, bought my first deck in the 70s along with Linda Goodman's Sun Signs book and a pair of rose tinted sunglasses with silver wire frames. Imagine my surprise when she referenced those rose tinted glasses in the first paragraph of my Sagittarius sun sign! I was hooked at that moment. Yeah, I'm that old hippie chick, though now I'm probably called a crone. I've never been drawn to religion but I am a spiritual person. I've never worshipped a God or Goddess but I do feel the connectedness to ALL in the universe, especially animals. Lately I've been drawn, nay, pulled to Goddess Oracles and Tarot decks and have started a journal just for Goddess messages. One day while listening to a guided past life meditation video I saw myself skipping down an ancient forest path. All around me was beautiful shades of green. I was wearing a green dress that flowed around my ankles, I had long blondish wavy hair with a circle of hand woven flowers as a crown. My shoes were made of a soft brown suede and tied with a green ribbon around ankle. I could see people gathered ahead of me at a wooden table laughing and drinking, kids running and playing, a stew in a big black cauldron cooking over a large fire. I remember being so happy, peaceful, and loved. Then the name Cerridwen was called. I don't know if it was me they were calling or if someone else or if they were honoring the Goddess herself. Some noise brought me out of the meditation and I've never been to that place again when doing past lives meditation. I did some research on Cerridwen and found she is the keeper of the cauldron, the keeper of knowledge. That experience happened months ago but every now and then her name pops into my mind out of the blue, and in the past week when I pull a daily oracle card Cerridwen has jumped out of my hands twice. Since I've never really worked with a Goddess I wonder if these are just coincidences or if she is calling me. I've never called myself a witch but I've been interested in witchcraft but have never practiced. My daughter works with herbs and candles and she is amazing and powerful. Ince im retired I have a lot of free time to start reading about witchcraft and moonology to expand my knowledge beyond astrology and tarot. I'm so late to this form of divination, if that's what it is called, but I'm curious to learn more. I didn't mean to write a short novel here but it's so nice to be able to tell someone what's in my mind regarding these subjects. Anyway, please keep sharing your knowledge and beautiful personality to the world. You have a lot to share and we need to hear your voice and wisdom. Peace and Much ❤️.

How do you choose which Dark Goddess to whom you dedicate yourself? This such a well put together video, and this question came to mind as I feel drawn to more than one Dark Goddess. I found out in the last year that Lilith has been part of my journey since childhood. She is the first I actually began working with after finally connecting. Then, The Morrigan comes along with whom I also feel a draw towards, though she may not be a mainstay as Lilith feels. Recently, I have found out about Nyx being a part of my spirit team, knowing so much about me and my soul. And, I believe Nyx may have been coming through in the mundane years ago when I first heard about Nyx makeup products. I'm not a big makeup person, using whatever, but my former friend who was would consistently tell me about this brand, lol. She was coming up a bit last year too through the random videos and images on social media feeds. So, could we work with these different Goddesses without dedicating to one, though have a main one who feels like a matron? I love and appreciate all of them and their aspects, though it's sometimes difficult for me to figure out which one(s) is/are THE one(s).

This is probably going to be controversial because i know a lot of people feel drawn to Lilith, but i have to warn that she *is* a demon originating from a closed practice. Her origins are directly stemming from jewish mysticism if im not wrong (which definitely is closed) so i heavily suggest you do your research on the topic before you practice. Also considering her dark origins and the fact that she was credited with causing grief and miscarriage in jewish culture, it can be seen as disrespectful to worship her. I'm obviously not a professional and i havent done any research on her in a while so i could be very wrong about this, but i know modern paganism has a tendency to be dismissive on such topics. which in turn is harmful to the history and cultures these stemmed from. Sorry for nerding out, i just felt this was important to know :)
Lillith's origins are in Babylon pre-dating any Talmudic writings.
The Morrigan, Hekate and Bastet were the first Dark Goddesses to reach out to me when i began my study of witchcraft. I dnt rlly follow Hekate anymore, and Bastet has definitely become more prominent in my pantheon as ive begun to worship Babalon and Ereshkigal and Aset
I’ve always loved and felt empowered by the Dark Goddess in her many guises. I respect and fear them, because they can bring swift change into ones life even if you are not ready for it. Maybe because I’ve always been drawn to things that are dark or gothic and struggles with years of depression, there’s just a natural love and appreciation for the dark goddesses. 🙏
I always had an interest in Lilith, Even when I was practicing religion back then.....and now that I hear about her again and taking time to investigate about her, it's curious to me that she's all about putting boundaries and recover the power that got stolen.... Something that I also lived and to this day I still struggle with.....I wish i knew more about her and dark goddesses earlier because it's all i needed and need right now.

I’ve studied for 25 years now, and just absorbed information and let myself gain a knowledge and respect for my path, if that makes sense. The Morrigan pretty much found me. I had never studied the deities in any other sense then the God, Goddess, and sort of just let myself grow in real life and spiritual things. This is an interesting journey to be sure.

My relationship with Lilith, Kali, the Morrigan and to a lesser extent Hekate have been very slow in developing. I am always surprised at the energies that reach out to me…..though looking back to what I had come to equate with being ‘the way I should be’, of course I shouldn’t be surprised they would step in and wake me up to my true nature again.
Kali and the Morrigan all but shoved their way into my life, or at least made their presence very known. This was at the very beginning of what I guess I would term my ‘spiritual path, or devotion to spirit’
I’ve always been the quiet kid who talked to dead people and hung out in the astral or the in-between. It always felt more home than anything else as a child. As I grew older I strayed farther from that and became more ‘earth bound’ I guess is a term I’d use.
Even now I have been very hesitant to fully devote myself to working with them, or any deities really, though they have been patient but persistent.

One important question I have is regarding inviting Medusa into your body is- what can you do to protect yourself from some other spirit or entity from entering instead? I attract alot of spirits (which I embrace happily) but Im still somewhat new at practicing (other than what came naturally my whole life). I actually started really studying when it was necessary for protection. So with that being said, I am very cautious regarding trickery and deceit. As I have unfortunately had alot of that from humans lately and in very big ways. Any advice for me?
