I appreciate it man! 😊 it definitely made it easy lol. Other than the water pump this was the hardest job I’ve done for the truck so far. It’s finally getting close to being a camping vehicle 😂👍
Good video so I've got the 6.2 in the m1008. My balancer is original I'm going to change it. Where can I get that balancer? Do you have part numbers on the seal and balancer thanks
I got mine from Leroy diesel! Here’s a link to the balancer and the seal. The seal included is one of the options leroydiesel.com/products/fluid-damper-for-ds4-or-db2/
It is steep but it’s a one and done part if you get it 😬. You can put on another one with rubber and you could be good for a while but I would just keep an eye on it. I bought this one since crank failure due to balancer can be common with these 6.2’s
@@2AOverland thanks. So I put the spacer on, and new fluid damper, and they both bottomed out, but it looks like there is still about a half inch to go before the end of crank gets flush with bore in damper? Is that right?
@@2AOverland it's all good bro. I just finished the job and she's running sweet. Got the fluid damper from Leroys. 84 m1008 After I pressed on the balancer with spacer and it bottomed out there was still like a 7/16 inch btween the end of crank and the front of balancer bore. In other words the end of the crank was not flush with the front of the balancer but the crank was sunk in about 7/16 inch from flush. I tightened up the bolt 200 ft lbs with lock tite. All the belts and pullys seem to line up perfectly. I guess that's the way it is? Running smooth glad I spent the money. All the replacements in OEM are Chinese as far as i could see. Thanks for the help
@RMM1983-ec4pg good! I’m glad it worked out 😎 I never really paid attention to the fitment of the balancer either I just installed it til it bottomed out. I’m glad the balancer is making it run smooth. Thats one of those upgrades where it’s not pretty but it’s satisfying since it’s functional and adds longevity to the 6.2
Awesome. Love to all the fellas keepin their 6.2 savage.
Thank you I appreciate it!
Thank you for buying the Fluid Damper from LeroyDiesel. Have a good day.
No problem! Thanks for supporting us 6.2/6.5 guys 😎
Great video! Helped me plan my damper change!
I appreciate that thank you so much for watching!
Dude, that is such an awesome upgrade! See with my when you have the right tools. Things are easy and you made it look easy. Great job dude

@@2AOverland that is awesome brother. Can't wait to see you use it as a camping vehicle. You are extremely handy
I put one on my M1028. It made a huge difference as far as vibration and noise.
Good 😊
Man I really need to do this upgrade on my M1009
Do it! Your bank account will hate you for it but your truck will thank you! Lol
Me2 foo
Great video, was looking for one on how to do the front main seal and now I’m going to get a new harmonic balancer too lol
Glad I can help you spend your money 😂😂 thanks for watching!
@@2AOverland saved me about a $700 though, I was going to take it to a should and it would’ve been $900 at least
@parkerantoine8178 oh wow! I’m glad to save you money!
How would the oil in the damper react to cold weather
I honestly have no idea 😬
Newbie question but is there a way you have to align the markings on the damper to that guide on front of the cover ?
Nope! Those lines on the damper are for timing. If you only replace the damper you don’t have to retime the vehicle so you will be fine 😎
Man this video is awesome! Can you please share the brand and part number for the installer set you used? Thanks in advance
Thank you! I got a link to the installer in the video description 😎
Well shoot, I missed that. Thanks! I have several 6.5s, and an 82 red block. I'm currently working on an 88 H1 balancer swap.
@58gmc100 sounds like a heck of a lineup! I’m a fan of these old 6.2/6.5’s!

@@2AOverland Dang! I didn't expect the price! Is there a cheaper alternative without putting on a Nagasaki nut turd?

Any special tools for installing the seal?
No, I just put a small coating of grease on it and gently tapped it in with a hammer
@@2AOverland sounds good.
Hey bud you remember torque spec on the bolt?
200ft lbs

I’ll ask the 6.2/6.5 group for you. What year is the truck?
